I love this place, it is so cute. Menu is small, which means they focus on a few dishes they do well.
I am very picky about poached eggs and struggle to find a place that makes them well (white cooked through but with a creamy runny yolk) but this place is solid. They also have a fantastic bernaisse sauce.
Look forward going again
Everything was perfect ! Felt like dining in an elegant dining room in a home ....
The manager was very gracious and did not charge for filet mignon that was encrusted with a huge amount of salt and pepper and sitting in a salty beige sauce. He made every effort to please us but my guest was still not happy.
Absolutely beautiful restaurant, with delicious food. A perfect Sunday brunch on their sun-drenched back patio.
Came here to celebrate my mom’s birthday. We were seated right away at a table in the enclosed patio area. The ambiance is lovely; warm and inviting. The food was incredible. We had a great time.
Food was excellent. Great service. Really nice ambience. Really enjoyed my time there. Will definitely go back and recommend to others.
The food was outstanding except the brussel sprouts were only very good.
We went early and were seated in the upstairs, which was very quiet and charming even as it filled up.
This is a very nice restaurant.
We have an unpleasant dinner. Service was not up to standards. Very bad service. Our table had a Brazilian server, he didn’t know what was on menu, he couldn’t answer a simple question on menu. We waited too long for our main course. When I ask our server he said, “ main course is coming soon”. “Soon” was 15 minutes later. He was not attentive at all. Good thing about this place is they know how to make good drinks, we wanted to order second drink, but our server couldn’t be seen. At the end we have to order our coffees from some else, because I couldn’t our server. Very bad experience.
Hello. I wanted to reach out and apologize for your experience at Bobo. We pride ourselves on our food, ambience, and obviously our service, and here we quite clearly fell short. Once we are reopen, and my team is back at work, please reach out to me if I can invite you back and show you the service that Bobo is known for, and if you would like to speak further. Apologies again. David Robeano General Manager 917.692.8114
We keep coming back Bobo because the service and ambiance is charming. The staff is attentive, friendly, and knowledgeable. Our anniversary was the other night and they gave us a great table with complimentary champagne. Of course the food is great- we usually get oysters, gnocchi, and chicken or steak entrees. Drink menu is solid too. I have only good things to say about Bobo and know that we'll go back again soon.
Lovely time, excellent food and service!
My husband and I had a lovely dinner at Bobo. It was our first time back since moving to the West Village and everything was even more delicious than we remembered. We would return for the filet au poive anytime!
Warm welcoming staff. Delightful table (my companion asked if I’d specially reserved it), and the food was so good (fish—perfectly cooked w deodorant complementary veggie and sauce). Wasn’t expecting such a great experience.
the entree and appetizer were very delicious
The waiter’s overuse of “we” in ”How are we doing?” and “ do we want anything for dessert?” was obsequious and outdated.
And the paper menus were soiled with food stains. - a bad first indicator. .
Beautiful setting, attentive service, delectable food. Broccoli was best I’ve ever eaten. Duck confit perfect. Octopus delicious.
Excellent food, great service. We will return!
Love this place for brunch on a Saturday or Sunday! The atmosphere is awesome and the boozy brunch is always a great time!
A gem in the west village
We had a great night. We started with the cheese table and the octopus, both pretty delicious. Then we shared the lamb (particularly tasty and rich) and one of the steaks they have on the menu. They have a nice wine selection. If there’s a criticism I would say that the bread pudding was a bit too sweet for my taste and I didn’t really see the point of adding chocolate to it. Great experience overall and pretty cool atmosphere!
A delightful dining experience. Excellent value and a small but eclectic menu. Well-chosen wine list.
The manager and staff were friendly, kind and very helpful. Wonderful meal and service.
The restaurant is charming and you feel like you are in someone’s well appointed home. The food was superb and our waiters were attentive. Will be back.
been here for brunch and dinner multiple times and the service is always impeccable and food delicious! recommend for dates, and in the warmer weather book the outdoor space for a initimate get together! (ie engagement party etc)
My sons nickname is Bobo. Had to bring him. Was fab! And we love French. Lovely atmosphere.
I have 5 stars all around. They were extremely busy however the service was absolutely outstanding! The entire team went above and beyond. Starting with the hostess, she waited for a patio table to come open so we would have the best seat in the house! The wait staff did an absolutely amazing job. Consistently refilled drinks and gave their recommendations on the menu. The food was outstanding and exceeded our expectations! Even though it was a busy Saturday night, there was never a moment we felt rushed (which is pretty rare now days) keep up the great work! We will be back here.
Super nice staff and manager David. Food is always amazing ambience is charming. Like dining in a private elegant home. Prices are very reasonable.
Ricki - it was wonderful seeing you again, I very much hope to see you again soon! David Robeano General Manager
Such incredible service and people!! Amazing food.
Four of us went to this dinner. All 4 meals were delicious, creative but not excessively so. My salmon with red cabbage (!) was really tasty. The waiter was charming. We informed the waiter that we had a show to get to; the staff was very good about providing prompt service, and yet we didn't feel rushed. My mother has trouble with stairs, and they took the time to show us an easier way down from the upstairs where we were seated. (Note, there is no elevator.) It was all very lovely. We hope to be back.
This was an exceptional experience from start to finish. We walked in the door and the GM greeted us immediately with a big smile. He led us upstairs to our table. We were greeted by our server in a timely fashion as well. The drinks and food were exceptional and delivered quickly. Our favorite aspect was the ambiance--very French and cozy. We were right under the heat which was a little warm at first, but the managers adjusted the temperature promptly to accommodate our request. We can't wait to visit again!
Jessie - Thank you so much for your kind words! Temperature is always a challenge in the garden. I'm glad we were able to adjust. Please come back and visit us soon! David Robeano General Manager
Slow service, it was freezing inside the restaurant, food was just okay, poor value overall.
loved it! so cute so french so worthwhile
Came for Valentines Day prix fixe with wine pairing. Servers needed to be reminded to bring out wines with the dishes (so much for pairing.) One wine even came out after we had finished the course. Food was overall good, but the poor service made this an exceptionally poor value.
Ehhhh, but it’s Valentine’s Day prix fixe menu, so one shouldn’t expect to be blown away. Decent experience
My S.O. and I decided to try out Bobo for the first time for Valentine's Day. The offered three-course menu for $80 was great along with the additional wine pairing ($30).
The actual restaurant itself is truly what drew me in to book Bobo. In a corner building in the heart of the West Village, Bobo is a three-floor, beautifully cozy space with a nice looking bar for more casual affairs and upstairs dining rooms for a more romantic vibe. My S.O. and I were seated on the third floor surrounded by the expected plethora of other couples. The room was the perfect dimly-lit, romantic feel for a Valentine's dinner.
The food was wonderful. We ended up splitting the gnocchi to start and Croque Monsieur. Both of us agreed that if that gnocchi dish with pumpkin seeds and butternut squash is on the regular menu then we would be returning! We decided to split the duck and filet mignon main courses. I felt the filet was slightly dry and closer to medium-well than medium-rare, but the gravy-like sauce it was served with was wonderful. The duck was amazing: tender, well-seasoned and served with a great citrus-based sauce. I would definitely get the duck again. The deserts were ok- definitely not bad but also not the highlight of the meal. I would recommend the apple tart over the chocolate mouse, but that is mostly due to my personal liking for fruit-based deserts over extreme decadent chocolate.
The service was ok. We rather quickly decided to order cocktails to start off the meal and then some minutes later proceeded to order starters, mains, and deserts. After about five or so minutes, we received the cocktails, a complimentary amuse buse and the appetizers all in one go. It felt a little poorly-executed as we asked for the cocktails to supplement the amuse buse and then take on the three-glass wine pairing. Other than this little hiccup, the service was good and the waiter friendly.
Overall, would love to come back to Bobo and do recommend checking it out if in the WV.
The food was amazing. Super cute space. Great service. Very nice drinks. We will definitely be coming back again to try more of the menu!
Went for a nice valentines dinner...great romantic ambiance, candles on the wall, sat upstairs beneath the glass ceiling, behind our table was a candle in an old French wire bird cage...just a perfect romantic atmosphere. The roast duck may be in my list of the best things I ever ate! Seriously...it’s really really good! Great staff, great experience...can’t wait to go back!
Daughter dinner
My boyfriend and I were so well taken care of and can not wait to return!
So pretty inside! Best french toast I’ve had in a while!!
Excellent food, great waiter, busboy a bit brusque (could use learning to to slam plates on the table), but overall a great evening
Not the best meal I ever had in nyc and definitely not French cuisine. But lovely atmosphere.
