Filet was tough crab cakes were terrible service poor
The food and service was excellent but the ladies room was in EXTREMELY POOR shape for a restaurant of this caliber.
The food was cool but wasn’t worth I paid…not sure what but it could of been better.
It was great!!!
Phenomenal service, food, atmosphere, and facility. Love it, look forward to visiting again!
After making reservstions online, I was very displeased to learn there was ONLY a special Valentine's menu available. I do not eat seafood and my wife does not eat meat. So in order to have the steak I was craving, i had to order the porterhouse for 2ppl. And order my wife a seafood dish which was extra. . the steak was way more meat for just me and much more money than i expected to spend for a single entree.
The dining rm was cold and very loud patrons behind us. However, By the end of the night, Our very friendly and accommodating waiter AND the high quality steak did make me smile.
We went on Valentines & unbeknownst to us it was a prix fix meal. The steak was flavorful, sides were lukewarm and nothing special and desssert wasn’t good. I should have known when the restaurant wasn’t full on Valentines that it wasn’t going to be great.
We dined on Valentine's day evening, and had a delicious dinner with excellent service. The wine selection was outspending and we were completely satisfied with the whole experience.
Food was amazing and service was wonderful! Will definitely go again for a special occasion:)
Bobby V's Has Completely Gone Downhill
The waiter, Rodney, was excellent & went above and beyond. His attitude and helpfulness was great! The steak & shrimp were burnt & had to be sent back. When the Rodney brought out the second steak & shrimp he made sure I cut into it to make sure it was to my liking which it was. We thought for $100 per person on Valentine's Day, the food would be better, but we thought it was just average.
Service was great, food was mostly great, I had one guest who stated that the steak was somewhat more than the medium rare that had been ordered.
It was nice but the food was either too salty or bland.
Food is always delicious and service is always spot on.
Great food, great staff!
All the food was excellent. We used a three course prix fixe menu. We shared the Caesar salad and shrimp cocktail for the first course - both were great. Then the petit filet along with the salmon for the main course and brussels sprouts and mac & cheese for the sides. Again, all very good. I'm a red / green pepper fan but they were a little too much in the risotto accompaniment with the salmon. It would've been better if it was more mushroom based and a little less on the peppers. The cheesecake and chocolate cake were both great finishers. And we even got a 1/2 priced bottle of wine as that is a Saturday night special these days.
Good food and Good service!
Very enjoyable and accessible restaurant!
Food was delicious and service was on time.
Our 2nd time at Bobby Vans Washington DC.
Absolutely love everything about it ,
We will never miss it when in DC ,
KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK ! AND THANK YOU. !!
Awesome dinner! However I am not used to paying over $270 for dinner for two... Oh well - not something I would do everyday... Impeccable service though and superb steaks!
The food was pretty average to below average for the cost. Ambiance was quirky, not new feeling. Bathrooms were awful!
This was my first visit to Bobby Van’s. I must say that I was very disappointed with the food and service. For a ‘steak place’, the steak was tough and unappealing. We were there for a business lunch, and the service was painfully slow - we had to make several attempts to flag down our server to pay the bill.
I am not literarily equipped enough to describe the avalanche of culinary joy every bite bestowed upon our tongues. The flavor, the texture, the service were all spot on!
The food was over priced for the quality my filet was pressed an so hard it was crunchy and tough. Not a lot of flavor. Service was nice but not great. It took several requests for drinks and there seemed to be a lot of issues with communication
1 year anniversary
The filet was seasoned perfectly and the blue cheese bacon brussel sprouts were the best I've ever had.
1 st time. My guests and I enjoyed. Server and food great! My guest had asked for medium rare, closer to rare and her steak came out more med well. That was the only issue.
I dine here every few months. The OB Steak salad used to be a filet mignon, now it's a hangar steak.... same price. The BBQ bacon-wrapped shrimp entree had FOUR small shrimp. Looked like an appetizer size, for $26. Value is not there, so will not recommend and won't return.
My steak was average. I had a much higher expectation. Overall disappointing. Would not go back.
Great atmosphere. We went for our Pastor's birthday so it was a great time.
Bobby Van's Steakhouse is one of our "go to" places in D.C. Whether entertaining fiends or business associates, we can always count on Bobby Van's- our favorite is on 15th St- for incredible service and outstanding food.
The service was excellent. They were right there anytime we wanted anything. We did not have to wait at all from the moment we walked in the door to the moment we walked out. The food was great and so is the atmosphere.
Moving away dinner
New Year’s celebration
Best porterhouse we have ever had... yes, better than many 5 star restaurants.... The service was spectacular and we were treated like we were the only patrons there. Our waiter was knowledgeable, offered recommendations, expertly, personality was warm and welcoming.... and I would go back just for his service! As an aside, the meat was so incredibly tender and flavorful, I could not imagine anything comparably More tender or any more flavorful. Great job all the way around. Would highly recommend Bobby Vans!
Great food and service. A little pricey but the food is worth it. Will go back again whether it be NYC or DC.
Great for Anniversary dinner!
Food was excellent. We were there on New Years Eve - had an early reservation. Service was good - the server was okay, but all his assistants were on top of everything. Manager and host very nice, personable, and accommodating.
Our server Rod Griggsley is the REASON we make it a RULE to keep returning . The food is extraordinary to say the least ....... but without the attention to detail awarded us by Mr Griggsley, and his team our server, I’m sure this review would of been a 3 - 3 1/2 ... when in DC , Bobby Vans on 15 th street is a must ! Ask fo “Rod Griggsley” and you’re experience will be memorable!!
