Bobby Van's Steakhouse - Broad Street Ratings and Reviews
My fiancé and I had a great date night. The food was wonderful and prepared with care. The staff was attentive to detail and we had a great experience. We will definitely recommend this restaurant and the location to our friends and family. Thanks for everything.
The filet mignon and all the sides were delicious. Our desert was just ok. It was supposed to be an ice-cream sundae and the presentation was weak and the ice-cream had already started to melt in the dish before it got to us. I still love the restaurant though and would highly recommend.
For 300$ tab. This place is over priced. Everyones steak was very bland. Very overly priced for the cut also. They charged for water! 10$ each! I was shocked! It was very dead and the staff was great. I could cook my food better than this at home. Usually why we don't go out anyways but it was for a special occasion with family. By the way 300 for 2 adults and 1 child.
We went for restaurant week as a family, we chose Bobby Van's because they had a really good tasting menu. The food was really good, the steaks came out as we wanted them, and the sides were great. However the service was terrible, it was painful to tip because it was that bad. Yes I understand that I was probably paying less than the average customer during non-restaurant week, but presicely if they would want customer retention they would offer an even better service than during their regular time.
Our water didn't even mention that they were having a restaurant week special, and didn't even offer us drinks, just came over 2 minutes after we sat down and asked if we were ready to order. he was rude and didn't even say hello, just the "are your ready to order"
I will not be going back because of the bad service.
I went here for a date and had never seen the interior. it isn't at all modern or fun decor...seemed 1970s style. Waiter was slow, unfriendly and inattentive. The salad was fine but over priced. The filet was delicious...but my wife ordered medium and I ordered medium rare...the medium one was more rare than mine. Everything else from the sides to the dessert were ok. Definitely not worth the price.
usually THE FOOD IS AWESOMW THIS TIME THE STEAK WAS awful and the staff seemed a little bored and laid back, they took the steak of my bill but left my sides so when my steak was ready the sides were ice cold and the s teak that I ordered well done was the worst I ever had , clearly the chef was disinterested..... will give it one more try and then I will move on to other places t hat do care about what and how they serve
Tried the restaurant week lunch. The lamb was excellent. The swordfish could have been cooked a little better but both the desserts on the menu were excellent. The service was decent and overall we were happy with our visit and would definitely go there again to try one of their steaks.
The porterhouse steak was not piping hot and sizzling as it should be. Not the usual Bobby Van's standard maybe because the Fidi foot traffic on the weekends is substantially less compared to the weekdays. I used a groupon deal for this which was only good for Fridays/Saturdays... (which makes sense to offset the lack of weekday steak-eaters) Usually the BV porterhouse steaks tend to be crispy while the inside is tender and moist even at medium rare. Perhaps most diners ordered filet mignon that night and the weekend staff was not expected to receive porterhouse orders. Whatever the reason was.. the experience was disappointing.
My husband and I went here on a Groupon. Jeff, our waiter, was pleasant, courteous, light hearted, attentive and informative. Very nice ambience. Our starters were cobb salad (we both loved) and onion soup (we've tasted better). Entrees were rib eye bone steak, sirloin and sides were sautéed mushrooms and green beans. Everything was delish and generous serving size! We highly recommend for a date night, our a group of friends. Highly recommend.
We came to New York to celebrate our engagement and wanted to find a special steakhouse to enjoy the night. My fiancé and I shared it wedge salad which was arguably the worst wedge salad we ever had. Crispy lettuce and store-bought blue cheese dressing that didn't taste like blue cheese. There wasn't any tomato or bacon or any other ingredient that would make a traditional wedge salad. My fiancé had the lobster ravioli which looked amazing, there were large chunks of lobster and it was very well cooked. I ordered the bone in ribeye and although it was perfectly cooked it was absolutely tasteless. Clearly a very good cut but there was absolutely no seasoning on my steak. Finishing salt would've gone a long way to make my steak enjoyable. Add $60 they should be very careful on how they serve that steak to their customers.
