A nice steakhouse. Large, honest cocktails. Oysters were gently priced. Good service overall, there when we needed them, didn't bother us otherwise. They were very accommodating, splitting a salad for us and bringing onions on the side. Great strip steak, cooked exactly right, with a nice char on the outside. Sides were pretty conventional, nothing extraordinary. Apparently bottles of wine are half-priced on Saturday night -- zing! In the heart of the Financial District, Saturdays are pretty low-key -- we arrived at 8:30 and it got quieter as the evening went on.
Service was excellent and accommodating. The cocktails were mixed perfectly and the food was superb. Try the mashed potatoes and saute mushrooms with your steak, you wont be disappointed. I would definitely return to this branch or another location of Bobby Van's.
Worst cut of steak ever! Sinewy and chewy and just didn't make the grade. And their potato hash is horrible! I love potatoes of all kinds and prepared anyway to please me but this thing was hard on the outside (not crispy) like it has been cooked and sat out for a long time then reheated and with no taste. Just awful quality of food and preparation. Never again Bobby when there are so many others who can do so much better! And we are steak aficionados and will rank Del Frisco's as the best still. We have you a fair shot and you blew it.
Another great dinner at Bobby Vans. They cook my steak just the way I like it. Tried the veal meatballs with mozzarella cheese for the first time and they were delicious.
A little confusion about who would be our waiter (3 in the first 20 minutes) but it was straightened out.
Bobby Vans is Always an excellent choice for any occasion of dining.
Normally eat at Delmonico's on WS, thought I would try Bobby Vans for a change. Business luncheon , great service excellent food. Would recommend
Exceptional spot for a quiet business meal. The staff did a nice job picking up on our vibe. We discussed an investment proposal with limited interruptions.
Bobby vans steakhouse was beautiful the service was wonderful. My fiancé enjoyed his birthday. I can honestly say sometimes it's a bit hard when bringing the baby but we had a great time and was accommodated accordingly . I have nothing but good things to say about this steakhouse
Had a very good meal steak was made to my perfection sides were great overall was a very good experience
As with every visit to Bobby Van's, this was a great meal. I met a colleague (who I hadn't seen in years) for lunch … he had the Chicken Caesar salad, while I had the filet mignon. Both dishes were well-prepared, but, more importantly, the service was impeccable. We were able to conduct our conversations / negotiations with a minimum of interruptions, and a very circumspect service team.
I highly recommend the restaurant, and will visit Bobby Van's every time that I am on Wall Street (which is often).
The food is good, as is the service. Ambiance is nice. My only complaint is that they charge for refills for soda, so two diet cokes and a seltzer were $15 - which just seems a little uncalled for.
Love the burger with blue cheese!
Had dinner on a Saturday night. Was concerned about mixed reviews but was very impressed from start to finish. Service was attentive and prompt. Each course was well timed and very well prepared. We used a Groupon, and the value was exceptional. Great location near financial district hotels. Easy walking distance.... even though coldest night of the year.
Food is sub part for higher end steak restaurant. Few dishes we ordered was under seasoned including: porterhouse steak, lobster mac and cheese, and creamed spinach. Service was good as expected. French onion soup was overly salted. Garlic mash was good.
Filet minion was very tough. Manager discounted it which was very nice but it was not a good cut of meat
Went to celebrate our secretary's birthday during restaurant week. The restaurant pulled a little switcheroo when given the menu. The filet mignon medallions on the website was switched to rigatoni. If you wanted the filet mignon you had to pay $10 extra. That left, if you'll pardon the pun, a bad taste in my mouth about the experience.
The food and the service were amazing. We loved everything about this place. We will definitely be returning.
Everything was great food , waitress decor.
The original sauce is fantastic! The food is good, but could be better.
Very good as always..The food is always consistently tasty and good. Service is always
Took my wife on a date here. Great service from beginning to end. The food and wine were top notch. Had a groupon deal and was not treated differently. The vault was not open. Hopefully the next time we go, it will be open. Definitely will be coming here again.
Excellent! You will not be disappointed.
Most steakhouse in NYC give you tiny littlw side dish portions...not Bobby Vans, huge portions.
I enjoyed the food at Bobby Van's very much. We tried several appetizers and each of us had steak. Delicious food and our waiter was very attentive.
The food (steak) was undercooked and it lacked flavor.
Very poor service. We waited over 40 minutes after we placed our order. My lobster shrimp sandwich had 3 shrimp and no taste of lobster but lots of celery which was not appetizing. Menus were dirty. Silverware had to be replaced because it was dirty. I will not return to this restaurant.
Excellent food and service - always a plus dining at this restaurant!!
great food, great service would recommend it to anyone who loves steak, creamed spinach and hash browns
Always on their Mark! Bobby Van's on Broad Street is always great for a special meal. The waitstaff is very attentive and the food a the food also very good. The steak and seafood are all awesome. The desserts are also delicious. Definitely worth going back to, this was our 4th time... but the first time in the grill. The Vault was reserved for a private party... but this ambience is always a great experience.
Always a great steak, perfectly prepared drinks apps, Joe the maitre d even remember s our favorite tables
Always a great steak, perfectly cooked, attentive service, vibrant bar scene, maitre d' always remembers your name!
Fantastic dining experience. Our server was well-informed on the menu and offered great suggestions. Will be returning soon.
Food, service and ambiance are always excellent. Financial district location is very convenient.
Bobby Van's Steakhouse at Broad Street is always fantastic!
Service and food was excellent. The staff there was so friendly and welcoming.
Not sure if this was coincidence, but the host seated all the minorities (including my party) in a small room, while all Caucasians were seated in the nicer general dining area.
My ribeye was flavorless. My wife's filet was excellent.
This was my 20th trip to Bobby Van's (second time at this location). This was by far my worst Bobby Van's experience ever. All my other dining experiences at this restaurant have been excellent. I will never return to the Broad Street location ever again.
The maitre d and the waiter always attentive. Rib eye extraordinary and cooked perfectly as was the lamb chops. Drinks great and large
Food was awesome, as usual. Goes hand in hand with the great service.
In a neighborhood with so many superb steakhouses, this experience was not up to par. The salad was lackluster and overdressed, the meat tough, my wife's fish okay. The creme brulee may have been the best I have ever eaten, but it was not enough to pull up the rest of the meal. Average in this context and at these prices is not adequate.
Very good steak. The service left to be desired. Very noise.
Classic charm in the Financial District -- great place to have a business meal, particularly if you are a steak and seafood lover. Friendly bar service in the classic restaurant fashion. Just be aware that it is in the heart of the Financial District, and since 9/11/01 most streets in the area are closed to vehicular traffic, so you have to hoof a few short blocks to the place.
