Bobby Van's Steakhouse - Broad Street
Really nice restaurant. Food was good, however in comparison to food prepared in the south where we are from, it could use a little more seasoning. Atmosphere was exactly what we expected. Spoke to manager who really welcoming. Will be coming back next time we’re in NYC.
Fantastic place for a birthday meal.
This was one of the best meals I have ever had, and our server was amazing! There was so much food we could have shared with our 2 teenagers , and still had leftovers!
Great food, great wine great service!
The food was really awful and disappointing. The steak was actually fine, everything else was really inedible.
BDay. Slow to start, waited a bit for cocktail but service then turned around. Steak was great, definitely too much food, order for one less person & get an extra side, Roquefort mashed potatoes were sinful.’Appetizers were tasty and large, consider sharing. Tuna (sesame crusted) was a bit bland but additional sides all made up for the flavor. Amazing wine list! Overall lovely birthday meal.
The steak was awful. Worst I’ve had in a long time
Young staff. Incompetent and inexperienced. Steak was all fat.
Tim is the best GM and takes care of his clientele.
The food was mediocre!, not worth it! Service was poor, more so in a rush, like they ready for you to leave!
Bobby Van's in the Financial District is great for an after work meal or special occasion. Dimly lit, moderate noise level, great ambiance. Food is very good, staff is excellent. Recommended!
Skip this one. Not up to par.
Wonderful service combined with great food
my go to place when i'm in the financial district. The maitre d and waiters know our favorite table and greet us warmly. we start with vodka and the waiters know to leave the shakers, then my carnivore treat, my medium rare bone in rib eye, always cooked perfectly and delicious, garlic mashed and asparagus, yum yum
Food was good and also the service prices reasonable
Had the sirloin and wife had the lobster Ravioli which both were great
I went for the dinner. Food is great, especially steaks, and waiters are friendly but the location is a bit old and the overall atmosphere is a little sad.
Went to Broad St. Excellent service. Colorado lamb chops and horseradish encrusted salmon superb.Appetizers oysters, calamari, and veal meatballs spectacular. Ambiance quiet on a Tues. This place is top shelf all the way. Can't wait to go back.
Had 8:15 reservation. After dinner we wanted to order dessert. We were informed at 9:30 by Granville that the kitchen closed at 9 and was not able to get the dessert we wanted. We were never asked if we wanted anything before the kitchen closes. Why take an 8:15 reservation if the kitchen closes st 9! Meanwhile the table next to us had just been served their dinner 5 minutes ago, 9:25. When we asked the waiter how they were able to be served dinner after 9, but we couldn’t get dessert, he was unable to give us a reason.
Visited with family. Very nice place. we ordered oyster，shrimp and crab salad and steak. Excellent food
Ideal for a quick business lunch with always reliable quality.
Porterhouse steak was good but the bone in ribeye was even better.
Sautéed mushrooms were great.
For appetizers the clams oreganato were fantastic. Shrimp cocktail were predictably tasty.
Location is on the quiet side so you can have a conversation. The service was good. Been here several times really enjoy the experience.
Vastly overpriced for the poor quality of food. I would not recommend.
This visit to Bobby Van’s was disappointing. Dover sole meunière was over cooked and dry, rib eye steak ordered medium rare was medium. The most disappointing was a glass of wine which judging by the taste was opened a day or two before and not properly kept.
I’ve been to the restaurant many times in the past and this was the first bad experience. Hopefully it’s just a fluke but not sure if I would risk visiting in the near future.
Always a great bone in rib eye! The maitre d a waiters always remember us and make us feel at home. My go to steak house by wall street
Our waiter Billy was great and the GM Tim was very accommodating
Attentive waitstaff and great food make for an excellent dining experience.
Vibrant bar scene, tuna tartare excellent, enough for two, plentiful vodka martini, classy, they leave the shaker. Sirloin great, bone in rib eye perfectly cooked , superb. Maitre d always remembers my name...wait staff attentive but not intrusive. Our go to when in wall street area
Very great service! The waiter was very charismatic and made the evening amazing!
Never disappointed at Bobby Van’s, my go to place when I want a great steak.
The food was tasty but the service was terrible. I was there to meet clients and I was early. I was largely ignored. It only got worse once my clients arrived. We had to ask for dessert menus and then it took so long to get the said desserts that we told him to forget it. My client said don’t even leave a tip - I did but it wasn’t much- hey we are all trying to make a living. I hope my server got the message. Taking the sparkling water off my bill didn’t help either. We were only a party of four. We will never go there again. Just terrible. It wasn’t very busy. I can see why.
Food was not good
Not the restaurants fault but a couple came in with two small children for dinner on a Friday night and sat near us and the kids noise was annoying. Food and service were good.
The food was amazing! The waiter and manager went above and beyond to make sure we had the best experience possible. I would love to go back!!
Always a pleasure to entertain clients or just have a good meal.
Didn’t quite live up to expectations, so slightly disappointed
Compared to other steakhouses in the immediate area, I wouldn't go to Bobby Van's again. The steak was slightly overcooked, the classic wedge salad dressing was watery, and the busboy would clear the table without checking to see if we were finished. He would interrupt ongoing conversations in a hurry to clear the table without saying excuse me or wait for a break. The least he could've done was ask if we'd like it to be wrapped to go. Language barrier or not, he should still make an effort to ask. The only exception was the french onion soup - that was exceptional; but for the overall experience, this place doesn't offer much value for the price.
The manager was most attentive and friendly to us and we had a celebratory toast. The steaks were perfect and the lamb chops were delicious. We’ll be back!
It was terrible to say the least, pesky flies that kept getting in the food, the plates looked dirty, the steak was bland I also ordered my steak medium and my boyfriend ordered medium well.... I received medium well and he received medium and when I told the waiter he brushed me off. When he asked was I done with my tuna I told him no but there’s a fly in it.... “Ok So Are You Done” Smh Terrible
For the first time in my life, I had to send back my 10oz filet tough and chewy. The waiter was most accommodating and replaced it with a normal filet, Also the men’s bathroom was lacking any paper towels and very dirty with discarded tissue paper around . I have been here several times before with no issues but at these prices ...
