About Bobby Van's Steakhouse - 54th Street
"At Bobby Vans 54th Street, you can expect the same great service and the same great food as our other restaurants. Tucked away in another historic restaurant location, (at one time this was the hang out spot for such stars as Frank Sinatra and the rest of the Rat Pack) there is plenty of history and untold stories behind these walls, if only they could talk. Conveniently located just east of Park Avenue and 4 blocks north of The Waldorf-Astoria, this is where you want to be. As you walk into the restaurant you’re greeted by our hosts and a large credenza filled with beautiful bottles of wine. Glancing to your left you overlook the spacious yet always occupied bar, where the bartenders know your name and have your drink waiting for you before you can even say hello. Separating the bar from the dining room is a glass window so you can see all the action of other diners enjoying their meals. The dining room has the good old fashioned steakhouse style with handcrafted wood walls, and F

Bobby Van's Steakhouse - 54th Street Ratings and Reviews
Dinner was good. Our service was good but there was waiter change. It was very awkward to have reservation for two on Saturday night and be seated in practically empty restaurant. There was one table leaving as we got there and another table of about six men near us. Once they left, we were the only ones in restaurant area. Great food but I usually enjoy longer dinner. Everything came out fast since kitchen was slow.
Good food. Our first waiter was nice, but without saying anything, I guess he went home. Never saw him again. My $75 steak was over cooked, but they said I should have said something earlier. They bought me a drink.
With so many steakhouses around, you would think they would push a little harder to please. Back to Capital Grill next time.
It was a quiet night as we sat for dinner at 6:30pm. The staff was so friendly, welcoming, and quick. I went during restaurant week and I can safely say it was the best meal I've ever had from start to finish. I'm not a steak lover but being taken to Bobby Van's, I couldn't imagine ordering anything else and boy am I glad I did. I don't think I can ever have a steak dinner again until I come back. The whole night was so sweet and beautiful.
Went here for restaurant week. The food was very good, I tried the filet mignon and the skirt steak. Personally I like skirt steak and this was very good, very tender and flavorful. The brownie almost tastes like cake which I still liked.
The place itself looks like it belongs in a tv show, very nice decor and mostly quiet the farther away you are from the bar, although there were two birthdays that day so that may have made it a little nosier but it was mostly quiet.
We had a nice time here :)
Went in alone to try the place, the service was great. The servers were very sweet and attentive. The food was great, had the medallion fillet mignon which was cooked to perfection, and the chocolate cake was worth every calorie. The service was quick and the overall experience was great.
The service was amazing. The staff was super attentive and quick. We enjoyed two apps, entrees, and desserts from the Restaurant Week promotion. The food was tasty, but not special, in my opinion. Everything was cooked very well and prepared the same. My only observation was that the entree appeared so small on the huge dish it was served. I wouldn't increase the size of the steak, but perhaps adding another vegetable would help. The Tomato and Mozzarella was absolutely amazing as well as the Brownie ala Mode. While the staff was superb, I am not sure I would return again as I am left feeling that the value does not match the product.
Everything from start to finish was excellent and the service and food were first class. We took our time and had a business conversation and the service never interrupted anything. I would highly recommend this for a group luncheon (our party was 9) or just a quiet lunch or dinner.
We typically come to Bobby Vans twice a year for anniversary or birthday but today we were able to come out for a date night. To say the service was exceptional would be an understatement. The attention to detail, the offering of just the right type of wine and the consistent checking in to see how we were, was greatly appreciated. There's a reason we keep coming back. The food is amazing, the management and wait staff are beyond professional. It is always an enjoyable experience and we look forward to coming again.
