Enjoyed every part of my meal. Service was great !
For it being a New York City restaurant and a supposeded Italian eatery, a few things fell short for me. The one thing was the decor, as well as the lack of imagination with the appetizers. I'd ordered tomoato and mozzarella and got a combination of just a large sliced tomatoes and a hunk of mozzarella. For our main course, which we both had forms of steak, the meat was perfectly cooked and seasoned . Yet the potatoes lacked something called salt, while the mashed were very thin they also lacked salt. The desserts were very well done and credit is due where it should be given.
Ate there for restaurant week. Placed order for all 3 courses. Although the restaurant was not crowded, the waiters rushed through each course... serving my main course while I was half way through my salad. Although I kept my salad and was eating it, they took it away and I still hadn't finished. They didn't ask us if we were ready for dessert, it was served immediately after they took our dinner plates away. This isn't the first time I've experienced this hurried service here. I'd understand if they were busy. But they had at least 10 tables unused. Why hurry your diners?

Great Steaks, well prepared and served. Difficult to judge ambiance as they had a large birthday party in the back room, and the noise was loud. Dining room was old fashioned and not really attractive and the room was cold, but the waiters were old pros, and the meal was well prepared and well served.
We decided to give this restaurant a try and participate in the NYC restaurant week. I was surprised to see the menu just on a sheet of paper and not even in a sleeve. The bread was cold and the butter was hard. I had the skirt steak and the chipotle mash. My steak was grey in color meaning there was no sear on it. The plate was not appealing looking with not even a bit of garnish. Even though the taste was ok, the presentation was lacking. However the service was excellent. Eduardo did an outstanding job.

Staff was very attentive, but food was just average...although it was restaurant week, I had to ask for the special menu. Others who came in after us didn't get the menu either, so may not have even been aware of the fixed price dinner option. Not a good way to do business!!
Excellent food Restaurant very crowded and confined due to private event. Also very noisy. Service wasn't great due to confined spaces they were working with. I will go back and try again another time. I've eaten in other Bobby Van's restaurants and had a much better experience. Bar was crowded but service was good.
Service was great and food was delicious. My girlfriend and I had a delightful evening and paired the meal with a bottle of their red wine
What an amazing service, seems like a rarity nowadays. It felt like waiters went through very thorough training, it was unbelievably pleasant.
Food was delicious and well presented. It is slightly loud due to the bar but I visited on Friday evening, I'm guessing it will be the same story everywhere else.
Overall very pleasant experience, will definitely come back
At Bob events the food is consistently good and the service is consistently excellent.
2nd time here with 7 or more. Entire staff from hostess, waiters, etc did an excellent job.
