Located in New York's landmark Helmsley Building, Bobby Van's Steakhouse has been serving the best porterhouse in town for the last eleven years. Upon entering, one is greeted with the sight of a credenza groaning under the weight of large bottles of wine. A bar full of regular customers is on the left and looking into the one-hundred seat dining room, one sees the thirty foot high ceiling and windows overlooking Park Avenue. To complement our Prime Aged Steaks our Sommelier has created an award winning wine list. Whether you're looking for a big Cabernet, a Pinot Noir or something in between our comprehensive list is sure to please. "

Incredible USDA steak, large portions (way more fries than needed), and a loud post-work atmosphere - mostly men in shirts/suits and all male waiters that averaged at age 65. Felt like we got the full NY experience as a family on 4 on vacation. Very expensive approx $70 for steak with sides costing extra and a glass of wine approx $20 - great for a special occasion.

Always one of my favorite places. Was in NYC and wanted to have my birthday dinner there. The staff made it memorable. Great food, generous drinks and very attentive waiters with personality. Top notch.

Bobby Van’s never disappoints. Besides its consistently fine menu, the waiters are outstanding. These men are informative and professional. They never impose their identities and attitudes on the patrons. The name is “Waiter,” as it should be.

Paul the waiter was attentive and the perfect waiter Philippe got us a private room 4 hours before out dinner as the party became 10 of us. The porterhouse steaks for 10 were succulent. 230 park ave is the location for a great evening dinner
