Best steak house in midtown ! Awesome service and great food. The General manager is a gem! Made us feel right at home!!
Service was particularly pleasant . We love the place. Always very good food and excellent service. We'll be back many times I'm sure
Classic steakhouse. Service was perfect, accommodating split plate request without an issue. Friendly and professional service, highly recommend this restaurant! Great wine selection too.
Everything was great!
Fantastic - dinner with a 7 year old can be tricky but they were great - food was excellent
Had a wonderful time here and will be back with my wife
Really enjoyed it & would be back it is ideal for pre theatre dinner
Disappointing experience. It was fairly late on a Sunday night and the place was empty. Got a nice table and server was nice. Noticed that holiday menu was in place so prices were about $15 higher than menu on website. Wife's steak was ordered medium and came out very medium rare so was sent back. The first 2 of my 5 lamb chops were good but got progressively more rare and the last 2 were basically raw. So as my wife's steak came back my lamb went back. Could have been the 2nd or third string chef on a Sunday night, but overall a disappointing experience at significant cost. Lesson learned.
Great ambiance, food was good but the service was terrible. Waiter was less than enthusiastic to serve, made excuse that his "busboy quite on me so sorry nobody picked up your table". Felt as if I had to apologize for being there. With all of the great steakhouses on or around Times Square, I'd recommend going somewhere else.
My experience was pleasant at Bobby Vans. The food was fresh and tasty--came out the way we asked for it. The service was excellent. Our waiter was pleasant and helpful. I would definitely recommend coming here to anyone looking for a nice meal out.
We had a reservation but had to wait 20 minutes to be seated. The small bar was full, so we had to stand in the way of the waitstaff since the hostess area was also full. Once we sat down, though, we found the service to be great, and the food delicious. It was fairly noisy, so if you're looking for a quiet evening, this might not be the place for you.
The service was outstanding. Lots of variety on the menu. We had a party of ten and everyone loved their meals and the food was hot!
Everything was great except I would recommend spacing out the seating a little more. Felt very crowded.
Great get together with a group of friends! Best value on the menu is the petite filet, which is a whopping 10oz piece of meat and comes with the sides. All 8 of us really enjoyed our meal and had a great time.
My French onion soup was warm, flavorful and had just the right amount of cheese. For the entree, the salmon was simply delicious! Great meal here in NYC.
Excellent burgers and steaks, as well as service. Even higher-than-expected markup on wines.
We were set immediately. The server was good and personable. The food was cooked to our request and it was a very good dining experience.
I booked Bobby Vans because I had been the year before, unfortunately i booked the wrong one. The staff were very nice the food was good. They had a party upstairs which was extremely noisey and loud. When asked the waiter about the noise He said we have a party. We could not have a conversation and was off putting eating in that environment we could not wait to leave, and we were not the only ones. I could not see why the manager did not ask them to consider other diners as it was very busy downstairs . I would not recommend this restaurant if they have a party going on. It is not A cheap restaurant and I would have expected the Manager to be a bit more considerate to other diners and not just how much money is taken.
Not happy with service. Mistakes made and corrections at times were forgoten until reminded.
Have eaten @ 50th st location was great Ate here for Thanksgiving server never greeted us shared angry info never smiled etc took our order & never checked back till the end when he handed us the bill! Then when we didn't give a tip to his liking followed us out to show his boss ( which we had already spoken to) and never greeted our table either Unprofessional staff
Food was dry and lukewarm No one to even tell that to
My kids are seafood fanatics, they have declared the lobster to be the biggest best Lobster they have ever eaten! The Cesar salad was spot on, as were the lamb chops! Truly a great experience!
Great evening - made us feel like VIP's with secluded table great for conversation and privacy. Professional and engaging service.
The steaks were ok. Not much flavor in the filet. I also didn't like the side dishes that came with the filet (french fries, creamy spinach). I'm not sure if I were able to substitute, because I forgot to ask. The service was great, the people were friendly.
We ate here for an early dinner (5:30) after a Saturday Theater matinee. It was very a very short walk and they were able to accommodate my 6 year old nephew who was with us. (Although I don't think I would recommend for a number of kids later in the evening.)
Good portions and attentive service.
The meal we had was great until the end. I was using a gift certificate to pay for the meal and it had left over money on it after settling the bill. I asked the waiter what happens with the rest (do we get a gift cert for remaining amount?) he said let me find out. He returned shortly with the receipt, but no gift cert. I questioned him on this, and he said it was for one time use only. I understood and said okay can we use the rest on drinks, to which he informed me it was already used and the remaining amount can not be used. Was extremely upset because it was $70 left and the waiter did not try to remedy this at all, never told me the extra $70 was going to be a wash pretty much, and never let us use the remaining money on gift cert. Will never be going back there and was extremely upset at the overall situation.
we were tucked away in a small corner....waiter was excellent but food was not. Steak was OK, but not up to par with other NYC steakhouses. Wife's fish was very dry
This is a wonderful find in the Theatre district. It has great food and great service
Service was a little slow but the waiter was great. Checked every now and then to make sure everything was all right.
The place was empty, service poor non attentive and he petite fillet mignon was over priced and of poor quality
Bobby Van's - Time Square never fails. Paul at the front is always attentive and makes your whole party feel important. The quality of everything is top notch, but be willing to pay for it. This is one of my go-to spots for business lunches and recently dinner for my daughter's birthday. My family loved it.
I've eaten at Bobby Van's on the east side. I thought the food here was much better.
Classic New York steakhouse near Rockefeller Center. Beautiful ambience, friendly service. I felt special there from the minute I was greeted by the hostess. I'll be back!
I took a friend to Bobby Vans for a special occasion. It was her birthday and I felt that this restaurant would be the perfect place. I was right! Awesome food and the staff were very welcoming. I will definitely return soon!
After dining at spots like Ruth Chris & X20 I set the bar too high for Bobby Van's.
It is a great place for steak and meat in NYC. Right off of Times Square - good place to get away from the noise and the crowds in the area. The steak and the side dishes were great. The service was also very good and helpful. I would definitely go back again for dinner.
Great service by professional. Food good but not amazing. Had hoped for a more lively atmosphere though. Almost too quiet.
Great food, service was ok but a little slow and food is not cheap
Very good Fillet Mignon. Lacked a little atmosphere but wasn't very busy.
Our waiter, Corin, was AMAZING! The bacon appetizer was delicious and cooked crispy just like our party asked for. Salmon was fresh, cooked perfectly! Corin suggested a delicious red wine and it was so delicious I had a second glass. The chocolate mousse cake did not disappoint either. Try this gem of a restaurant.
Do not rely on the menu shown on either Open Table or the Trip Advisors site(s). Some of the steak prices shown are 50% or more misstated. That being said, the quality and quantity of the meal was superb. As was the service
