About Bobby Van's Grill - Broad Street
Bobby Van's Grill is located directly accross from the New York Stock Exchange on Broad Street. The Vault dining room on the lower level was once J.P. Morgan & Co.'s original bank vault, which was installed by Remington & Sherman Co. in 1902. The Vault Bar's elongated room is lined with vault doors, two of which showcase Bobby Van's extensive Wine Room. The 22-foot wood paneled bar boasts a large selection of spirits and wines by the glass which you can also enjoy at one of the rich tapestry-covered banquettes. In the center of the room is the impressive six-foot circular main vault entrance where you can dine on entrees such as our 12oz prime beef burgers, juicy steak wraps, Maine lobster rolls, jumbo crab BLTs, specialty salads, and of course our famous steaks!

Bobby Van's Grill - Broad Street Ratings and Reviews
Bobby Van's Grill on Broad Street in the Financial District is closed and nobody notified Open Table. For years, there has been both a Bobby Van's Steakhouse and a separate Bobby Van's Grill on Broad Street. The Grill was on a lower level and one of it's great features was the dining ares inside the old bank vault surrounded by hundreds of safe deposit boxes. Well, the Grill closed by Open Table continues to take reservations for it. The Steakhouse will provide the Grill menu but the experience is not the same because the ambience of the Steakhouse is a far cry from the old Grill.
We came in for lunch party of 4. My filet was perfect and flavorful. My sons Seared Ahi was not what we were used to in California. The cut of Ahi seemed flavorless and a bit watery in texture. We do not know why it was like this. We do get good sashimi quality Ahi in california and maybe it was just a regional difference. It was prepared perfectly and well presented. The other two dishes were the cobb salad and a wrap. they were both up to standard but did not amaze. We loved the restaurant and the service. i would be back for the filet and maybe try other dishes on the menu. i would recommend for any visitors to the area.
My guests had steak that was OK, but not the best, I had shrimp scampi that was just terrible . A tiny cup of rice and shrimp as hard as a rock and totally tasteless. No flavor, nothing. I could have had a $ 10.00 shrimp dish at a Chinese reastaurant that would have felt & tasted so muchchchchchchchchc better
Forget about it... you just can't possibly get anything much better anywhere than Bobby Van's Grill Wall Street!! Oh the steaks - so very perfect! My daughter is a classical Ballerina and really goes for a good, thick, well seasoned, perfectly cooked filet and I'm Lao all for that. Our steaks were like butter baby!! We've been following Bobby for years on the Food Network and finally during our visit to NYC from SF, we at the real Wall Street Restaurant, Bobby Van's Grill! A Must Eat eatery for everyone visiting NYC!!!
Disappointing visit.. Have eaten upstairs many times and the grill in the basement, has basement service and food. Both dishes we had served to us were extremely dry, overcooked and not good. Service was not too attentive as it is upstairs and the appearance is dungeon like and very dated with a musty basement odor. Will not return.
This is my second time having lunch at the Broad Street location. The staff is attentive and responsive; however, the food is just okay. And overpriced. While I was aware of Prix Fixe menu, it wasn't offered until I asked about it. And, we didn't think the value was there so we ordered from the full lunch menu. Again, I would suggest Empire Steak for a better value.
Excellent dinner with friends. First time at the restaurant and they actually read and complied with my request for a quiet spot. The bank vault/wine room was a fabulous setting for a fabulous evening all around. Great food, service and ambiance. It was restaurant week and the choices were fantastic, so all four of us got a real bargain. Only complaint was that the cocktail price was too high while the price for wine by the glass was moderate. Enjoyed nonetheless!
This restaurant was okay I think I would have a better time if I would have did a different location... The financial district a little noisy not really my crowd.... The food was pretty decent definitely had better.... But it was fine always wanted to try Bobby vans so I can check it off my list....
The host and staff were professional and greeting my and my guest upon entering. We were seated in a quiet area as requested. The appetizer and entrée were as expected and served within reasonable amount of time. I did have to remind our server to bring the drinks which took longer than expected. Because of this delay,we felt a bit hurried through the dining experience. In addition were notified of a holiday event that would be requiring our table. These factors made us feel as if we were an imposition during our first visit.
I really like Bobby Van's but definitely prefer the midtown locations. The Broad Street location has less polish to everything (ambiance, service, food, etc...) and they didn't have my favorite dish (artichoke salad). I went for a business lunch and I will pick somewhere else next time around if I'm in the Financial District.
Normally I would expect outstanding service, but last night I took clients out to celebrate and our waitress was on a different planet. She didn't know if the seafood platter was raw or cooked and when she picked up my dish after the meal, she said to me "good job". Who does that?!
I brought a potential business partner here for lunch and the food was great and the service and atmosphere were top notch. I arrived early (shortly after they opened) and the head waiter saw that i was waiting for the person with whom I was meeting and took me on a tour of the place and showed me the old vault in which the restaurant is built. It really is a cool place and we were very well taken care of even as the other tables started to fill up. I may start using them regularly to meet with potential partners and clients down near Wall St.
Great service, disappointing food. We started with oysters Rockefeller which were good. Next we had a wedge with what was supposed to be bleu cheese dressing but unfortunately there was no bleu cheese in it just a goopy sauce with a faint bleu cheesy taste. We then shared a $120 porterhouse steak that was tasteless and hugely disappointing. The $20 martinis (yes, $20 each) were very good!
