This waterfront locale is historically known as the launching site of our country's first submarine, the H.L. Hunley. Poised at the breach between the Intracoastal Waterway and the Atlantic, you can enjoy a meal amongst the spectacular sunset views and balmy ocean breezes of the Isle of Palms.     The fish is always fresh and tastes amazing. Our server was very nice and was well aware that we have a dairy allergy. That said, there's hardly anything on the menu that doesn't have dairy, whether it be cream or doused in butter. I opted for french fries as my side since most everything else had cheese or cream. Guess what, the fries had buttermilk on them. Okay, so I said can I have rice, "no, because the rice only comes with the dinner special". Forget dessert, there's nothing on the menu that doesn't have dairy. Have sorbet for crying out loud if you can't or won't bake something without dairy. There are so many people with food allergies or intolerances. It really isn't that hard, believe me, I do it every day. The fish is fantastic as I already said, I just don't know that we will be back.

    We made our reservation late. They put us in a private area which was nice. My husband has a rollator and it takes a lot of room to get down isles so this was very easy and nice. Service was great and so was the food.

    Food was excellent - from the fresh oysters to salad, then our entrees. Enjoyed every bit! Decker took great care of us. Prompt, personable and efficient. Highly recommend this spot!

    The staff treated us well since it was our anniversary. We were given champagne, which we really enjoyed. However, we were seated at a small table and were very cramped. It was extremely noisy as well. The corn chowder was not that great, especially for what it cost. We’ve eaten here many times, and this was the first time we were disappointed. Our waitress was really good about serving us.

    The Boathouse is a fantastic choice! I love the water view and the atmosphere of the restaurant. We’ve been coming here since I was a little girl when we visit the area and the Boathouse never disappoints. The food is always so, so good and priced fairly for the amount and taste.

    First time and everything was so nice and included complementary valet parking! Enjoyed the rooftop bar for happy hour before dinner. Service was outstanding and food delicious. Moderately priced for a coastal restaurant but definitely worth it. Highly recommend!
