Stellar customer service here! We have been here before and came back because the place has a crisp and clean appearance, delicious food, and warm friendly service that is classy. Our steaks have always been perfect, the lobster tail was decadent and we usually get the coconut shrimp because the sauce has a great kick to it. Perfect date nite or a place to treat yourself.
Although part of our party was late, the server was extremely accomodating. The food ordered was promptly served and delicious. We certainly will return and feel it is one of the best in Duluth.
I think this place has such potential! Beautiful atmosphere, awesome views of the lake, fantastic service - but portions of our food were cold and we think they were sitting out for awhile. The salmon entrée was very good but the fish not so much.
The food and atmosphere was great, the service however was not so good. The waitress walked by our table several times without so much as a greeting, we heard her tell the table next to us “sorry for the wait but it’s so busy tonight.” The small dining area was not even half full, there were empty tables all around us. When she came to get our drink order, she set down an empty wine carafe from another guest and left a bright purple stain on our white linen tablecloth. Our food was presented well and it tasted delicious. The waitress did not come back to get us another drink until we were ready to leave. We allowed 2 hours for dinner before our show and barely made it to the show on time. The view of the lake and lift bridge were wonderful.
We ended up with a group of eight on a night that included a restaurant week menu. Most of us ordered off the special menu and were very satisfied with our food. The service was great and we had a great time visiting with each other. A great experience over all.
The crab cakes were amazing!
This was a gem of a classy casual place to dine! It was out first time in Duluth and was looking for casual to fine dining and this place was top 10! I rate it a 10+. The atmosphere was casual attire to fancy and I like the warm of the two. Our waitress (Elizabeth-Liz) was very knowledgeable about the menu and had excellent costumer service. She made sure to answer any questions about the drink and dinner menu having this be our first time very clear. Our dinner was Very good! Loved the view and can’t wait to come back in the summer time! I highly recommend this to couples, family’s, large groups, and as well as a place for business get togethers...plenty of seating!
We had a great meal and the service was fantastic! Steaks were cooked to perfection as were the scallops. Definitely going back!
I booked my reservation online. I assumed that if you're capable of taking a reservation for a certain hour then you are also capable of holding that reservation. Much to my surprise however, while I was literally parking the car, I received a phone call to tell me that my reservation was being pushed back by one hour. Thankfully, since I didn't have any other plans that night (i.e. a play or a movie, or sporting event to get to The failure didn't completely upset my anniversary. However, it was enough for me never to go back to that restaurant again.
Great food. Finer quality dining than many other places in Duluth. Steak and scallops were both amazing and were paired well with their side dishes. Cocktails were unique, flavorful, and were not watered down. Staff was friendly and knowledgeable but not intrusive. Food was delivered quickly. A great spot for a date or special occasion, as that was what most of the other couples in the restaurant seemed to be doing as well.
Monica gave us a great experience. Will come back again.
Had reservations at 6:30. Arrived about 5:45 and sat in the bar to wait and have some wine. Got seated about 6:00. Ordered our food. Shortly after ordering, the waitress informed us they were out of popovers, and that there would be a wait to get them. They came after about 15 minutes. At 6:45 we were informed that the kitchen had lost our order and it would be another 5 minutes. We watched as customers seated after us continued to get their food. Some of the other customers noticed what was happening and commented to us about the situation. At 7:30 I asked what was going on. Waitress said she would check. At 7:45 asked for the manager. He said he would look into it. At 8:00 left and went to Pickwick for dinner.
For our special occasion we had Incredible food & great service!
Dined for a couples Valentines Day dinner. Liz, our server was excellent. She was attentive, accommodating and made great wine and food suggestions. The green curry mussels were delicious. The sea scallops were perfectly cooked with a nice smoky sauce. Wonderful! I will be back.
We were there for an early Valentine's Day dinner. Our server - I wish I could remember her name - was FANTASTIC. Well informed about the menu and specials, friendly, attentive without being intrusive and professional. The food was perfect from the pop-overs to the crab, steak and fish. The Tiramisu Cheesecake was fabulous! Good wines, quiet enough for conversation and of course you can't beat the view.
We wanted to try someplace new for our anniversary. We are so happy we chose the Boat Club. The food was very good and our waitress was fantastic!
WE had my husband's 80th birthday brunch there and it was amazing.
The food and service were outstanding. the Kid Friendly menu was a big hit
with the little ones.
My husband and I went in for a date night and were very happy with the food, the atmosphere was very comfortable and the service was on point. It's a little pricy, but quality is there.
Service was great
Steak was not worth the money
$34 should buy a steak you can cut with a butter knife not have to saw with steak knife
The pictures don't do it justice. It's much nicer than it looks. Secondly, the menu on Open Table is different than the restaurants website. Thirdly, the size of the plates (not food portion) were WAY TOO SMALL. The food was practically falling off the edges. I had read the reviews about the halibut being awful and it appears they've taken it off the menu (could be that its off season for Halibut). I did see a trend in the reviews talking about service being slow. We weren't in a hurry and it took 39 minutes from the time we placed our order to the time the food arrived. With that said - the bread/popovers didn't arrive at the table until 3 minutes before the main meal arrived which was a little odd. I had the scallops (4 medium sized scallops) and my partner had the NY Strip. They tend to cook things on the more more well done side in our opinion. The scallops were great quality (not gritty or sandy), but slightly over-cooked. The Steak was ordered Medium and came out Medium well. The interesting thing is they have a clause on their menu that the items may look more well done than they actually are due to the low lighting, but I can assure you, it was more well done than I anticipated purely by taste and looks. It was a nice meal, a subpar wine list but decent prices for bottles and glasses. We had booked the restaurant to celebrate my partners birthday and they never acknowledged or asked if we were celebrating anything special. We weren't expecting anything, but sometimes it just makes the mood a bit more special when they ask. Our server was great with recommendations for wine pairings with the food. The bar area was quite empty on a Saturday night, however, after visiting Duluth and trying a new restaurant at a boutique hotel near the arena, this place was was 20 times better than their restaurant and much much quieter. All in all - a good restaurant, good food, decent wine, good prices and quiet.
Bloody Mary is a Life Time Experience. Excellent staff. Food quality outstanding.
Everytime I go the service and food is amazing. The view is amazing also.
We waited 1.5 hours to get our food, it was good once we got it, but the wait was unacceptable. Our waitress was ok, not real friendly and not accommodating to food requests. Overall, I think it was very expensive for the service received.
I went to the Boat House with a friend. It was a great small restaurant and the food was fantastic. We have wonderful service and overall a very pleasant experience!
We went for dinner prior to going out on NYE 2018. Nice, diverse menu. Has a great view of Lake Superior (although all covered with snow now).
We went here on New Years Eve. Probably one of the busiest nights to go out. We were seated exactly at our reservation time and the food was delivered promptly. Best Crab cakes I have ever had. And Jason and Jeff are the most wonderful hosts. We will be back.
Nice place to gather for quiet conversation with a group. Excellent service. Food was delicious but the dessert was a disappointment.
Wonderful Christmas Eve dinner! A more casual menu was only available, that said it was great food! Service fabulous!
The menu was very diverse allowing 6 of us ample options to choose from Each of us had great reviews on the food selected. We are all well traveled and enjoy good food , drink and service. Our service person was outstanding attending to our requests and anticipating our needs. Well done We will be back
This was my first visit and it was for a very special occasion. The waitress was so patient with us as she came came numerous times to take our order and we weren't ready. She was very positive and extremely informative with the menu and specials they were having. She returned numerous time to see how we were doing. The food was excellent and I would return in a heart beat.
Some friends and I met their for dinner. Food was average and service was slow. Not impressed for the prices they are charging both food and service should be exceptional.
Everything was wonderful. 4.5 / 5. I had noted on my reservation that it was for my Mother’s 70th Birthday. I did not expect a discount or anything free but I did expect a verbal acknowledgment. They recognized the table next to us...& even though I said something....still no word....I think it actually hurt my mom’s feelings. I’ve been in the restaurant management business for 20+ years....this bothered me!
I am so disappointed. Took my wife out for her birthday and was really looking forward to a nice dinner. The clam chowder was good. My halibut, first fillet was so over cooked I could not even cut it with a knife. I sent back. Second fillet was barely any better. Veggies were good and we liked the popover. My wife had bacon shrimp and that was so over cooked it was like rubber chewies. We spent 100.00 for a terrible meal, and we were really hopeful a good restaurant had opened up locally.
My husband and I dined here to celebrate our seven year wedding anniversary and everything exceeded our expectations! We were pleased with everything about the restaurant! Definitely coming back! Karen was our server and she was amazing!
Thanksgiving buffet. Worst meal we ever had at $28/person. Selection was limited and quality was poor. Gravy had the consistency of egg whites with no flavor (a lot of cornstarch). Desserts were NOT homemade and were flavorless. Entrees were cool to warm. Not hot. Huge disappointment at a big price.
Exceptional food and service!
The Thanksgiving buffet was well thought out and the food was all excellent.
Best turkey I’ve ever had!
Food was not good. It was pretty tasteless. The ham and turkey were good. But, that’s pretty hard to fail. My husband had coffee and I had tea and they charged us for that. Usually comes with a buffet. So, twenty eight dollars per person, two fifty for the beverage plus the tax and it came to almost sixty five dollars plus tip. Pretty expensive. Would have been happy to pay if the food had been good. Service was great! Our waitress was very friendly and really paid attention.
Waiter very friendly and helpful. No problems with reservations. Food was good. Excellent service. A little expensive but a classy place for special occasions.
I was not going to write a review but in conversations I decided to. First of all I have had several great dinners there which is why originally I was going to leave a sleeping dog lie. But ultimately I am not happy with the situation since after both of took issue with our dinner and to make it clear I did not demand anything for the terribly prepared halibut dinners , we were later told they agreed that they were not at all correct and were awful. Then I was still charged full price ringing in on a total tab for 2 over a 120.00. Not bad and a few gestures were made but I guess if you know you wrecked the meal you may consider being more proactive
Beautiful setup, good service, and a great view. Food - so so.
My lobster tail was over cooked, and the French onion soup was a disappointment (tried to get too fancy with it.)
Crab cakes were excellent - highly recommend them! The burger was also very good, not too many competing flavors.
The shrimp Alfredo was a very generous portion with good flavor.
The waitress was very knowledgeable and friendly, and I loved the ambience. The prices seemed way high for the quality and won’t likely be back for dinner. I am excited to try the breakfast or brunch.
