Great food and loved the whole experience
We unfortunately experienced a near-by LOUD table. We could not hear our guests’ comments. We will come again, but we expect to be able to ask our service attendants to ask loud people to turn it down. We were with a friend we had not seen for years. Other tables should not be able to yell and cause disturbance. Your restaurant is great! Please do not become a sports bar mentality. Thank you. And thank you for the good food (and the window seat). We’ll be back.
We went to the Boat Club on Mother’s Day. The food was just ok, nothing special like I’ve experienced in the past. When food supply was low on the buffet, it wasn’t always filled promptly or, in the case of the salads, not @ all. Our reservation was later in the afternoon but I would still expect the buffet items to be re-filled. I will say the crab cakes were very good but other than that, nothing special. I was very disappointed.
We went for Mother's Day Brunch and it was very well done. Our server could've been a little more attentive to our large party, but overall it was quite pleasant.
Our server was very friendly and attentive. We had a beautiful view of the lake.7
I had a pre-Mother's Day lunch yesterday with my mom and six of her friends. I brought bud vases for the attendees and a centerpiece two hours beforehand to be put on the table for our luncheon at a requested lakeside window table setting. I arrived 10 minutes before the event. The restaurant was one-quarter full. The table was not by the window nor were the flowers placed on the table. Ugh!!! The service and food were very good, the hostess totally dropped the ball.
Food and service excellent as always. Beautiful view of Lake Superior, a great bonus.
Reservation was on time and server was punctual. Fancy setting but after placing our order, 4 to 5 other tables that ordered after us had their food and we hadn't received anything. After an hour we left. This place looked very nice for our engagement dinner but I will never go back. Our server apologized but it was not her fault. No one from management even bothered to talk to me when I asked to speak with them. Place was not at 50% capacity either. Highly disappointing.
NY strip and filet were tasty. Server was Twin Ports cordial and that was nice.
Additions to the entrees: grilled shrimp were worth the price, but the scallops, two small ones, I thought not, though spouse still enjoyed them.
We will return.
Location and Lake Superior view can't be beat! Wonderful meal, superb staff!
First time diners. Excellent dinner, loved the popovers and the Boat Club G&T. A bit in the pricey side but felt it was worth it for the meal served.
There were 10 of us. All the foods ordered were prepared as desired. The service was excellent.
We had a reservation and waited 15 minutes behind a group that didn't have a reservation. The server was very friendly and did her best to take care of everyone. They were clearly understaffed and made a valiant effort to take care of the customers. I appreciated that our food was served hot by a guy in a sweatshirt that was likely pressed into service. What I didn't appreciate was the messy plate, flavorless/lumpy polenta, dry short ribs and that the delicious popover was not served with whipped honey butter but cold foil wrapped butter. I can't recommend it BUT they earned a second try in the near future.
We love the boat club. .everyone we bring there loves it too!!!!@the jokelas Luann duane!!!!!
We had superior service by a tall woman with long greying hair and glasses. We forget her name.
Great view of lake superior. Food was good and the company special.
The location is excellent and the atmosphere was classy casual without being overdone. The food was well below par for the prices. I had the strip steak and my guest had the king crab. Both were overcooked and almost inedible. Also took the popovers off the table before I had a chance to eat it. All in all the whole meal was a disappointment.
This was my first time at this restaurant and it was well worth it. Liz is amazing and provided great service with an amazing personality. The only downfall was that the dining room was very loud. They could benefit from some sound tiles on the ceiling.
Fist time we ate here the food was very good but this last time the food was disappointing.
Good food and great service with a view! Group of 8 and they handled it perfectly including the kids.
Drinks were good. While the gnocchi was good, it had too much pesto on it.
Liz was spectacular! She's the gem! The food was really good.
We had a wonderful birthday dinner for my husband. The service was great and the food was delicious starting with the Boat Club poutine. Top this off with a stunning view of Lake Superior and it made our day!
Easter Brunch was disappointing. Late afternoon seating wasn't good. Many buffet items limited, food temps. not up to par, desert items limited. Brunch price was exorbitant for what was offered/remaining.
I was so impressed with the food. Everything was very good. The most impressive was the service. Everyone was friendly and attentive without hoovering. We were there for Easter buffet. Everything was excellent! We will be back for sure.
My mom and I went here for the Easter brunch, and were extremely impressed. Our server was fantastic, the food was great and plentiful. It was by far the best Easter brunch we have ever gone to, and we have been to many! People were ordering the lobster bloody mary, which looked delicious with a big chunk of lobster tail hanging on it. We had mimosas, and they give you the juice and champagne in separate pitchers, which I love. The lake was a turquoise blue, and it was a beautiful scene. I would definitely return.
Easter buffet was great! Lots of choices and lots of food!
Great service and food!
Excellent, but steak was over cooked
My husband and I celebrated our anniversary at the Boat Club, and we had a marvelous time--great beverages, delicious meal, great waitress (Ashley, I believe), etc! Thank you, we will be back in the future (-:
Brought my daughter to lunch for her birthday. The food was good but for the expensive it should have been awesome. Our servicer was pleasant, Beautiful location and ambience. I'd be willing to give it one more try.
Stellar customer service here! We have been here before and came back because the place has a crisp and clean appearance, delicious food, and warm friendly service that is classy. Our steaks have always been perfect, the lobster tail was decadent and we usually get the coconut shrimp because the sauce has a great kick to it. Perfect date nite or a place to treat yourself.
Although part of our party was late, the server was extremely accomodating. The food ordered was promptly served and delicious. We certainly will return and feel it is one of the best in Duluth.
I think this place has such potential! Beautiful atmosphere, awesome views of the lake, fantastic service - but portions of our food were cold and we think they were sitting out for awhile. The salmon entrée was very good but the fish not so much.
The food and atmosphere was great, the service however was not so good. The waitress walked by our table several times without so much as a greeting, we heard her tell the table next to us “sorry for the wait but it’s so busy tonight.” The small dining area was not even half full, there were empty tables all around us. When she came to get our drink order, she set down an empty wine carafe from another guest and left a bright purple stain on our white linen tablecloth. Our food was presented well and it tasted delicious. The waitress did not come back to get us another drink until we were ready to leave. We allowed 2 hours for dinner before our show and barely made it to the show on time. The view of the lake and lift bridge were wonderful.
We ended up with a group of eight on a night that included a restaurant week menu. Most of us ordered off the special menu and were very satisfied with our food. The service was great and we had a great time visiting with each other. A great experience over all.
The crab cakes were amazing!
This was a gem of a classy casual place to dine! It was out first time in Duluth and was looking for casual to fine dining and this place was top 10! I rate it a 10+. The atmosphere was casual attire to fancy and I like the warm of the two. Our waitress (Elizabeth-Liz) was very knowledgeable about the menu and had excellent costumer service. She made sure to answer any questions about the drink and dinner menu having this be our first time very clear. Our dinner was Very good! Loved the view and can’t wait to come back in the summer time! I highly recommend this to couples, family’s, large groups, and as well as a place for business get togethers...plenty of seating!
We had a great meal and the service was fantastic! Steaks were cooked to perfection as were the scallops. Definitely going back!
I booked my reservation online. I assumed that if you're capable of taking a reservation for a certain hour then you are also capable of holding that reservation. Much to my surprise however, while I was literally parking the car, I received a phone call to tell me that my reservation was being pushed back by one hour. Thankfully, since I didn't have any other plans that night (i.e. a play or a movie, or sporting event to get to The failure didn't completely upset my anniversary. However, it was enough for me never to go back to that restaurant again.
