BOA Steakhouse - Santa Monica Ratings and Reviews
We had a business dinner at BOA. I ordered the center cut filet and, quite honestly, it was the best steak I have ever had and I have eaten at some great steak houses. I would recommend the specialty manhattan and the "table tossed" Caesar Salad to start with. I was a little disappointed in the wine options by the glass. All and all, fantastic outing! Service was great and I'm definitely going back when I'm in Santa Monica again. Will highly recommend to others.
Later evening table available: initial table a little close to entrance -- no problem an empty table at the window. Our main server was energetic and full of positive energy: a real pro. The other staff were efficient and pleasant-- water glassess always were refilled. Drinks were brought quickly and our order was taken smoothly. Note no problem when my wife and I opted to share an entree. Food was great -- great restaurant!
Food was really good and the service was fine. They poured very heavy with the wines by the glass and 1/2 bottles. Presentation of the food could have been better. The ambience was a bit lacking as it is super loud even on the outside dining area which was quieter than the inside. When I return to Santa Monica, I would consider BOA again but would likely try another steakhouse since our experience was simply OK. We place much on ambience and it was lacking at BOA. As mentioned, food and wine were very good, however.
Delicious meal... Jamie, Morgan & Nick worked as a team to make sure that everything we ordered came out exactly as we’d ordered it. Charles, the Manager, visited us several times to chat and confirm that all was well. The wagyu was decadent, as was the Tomahawk cut of rib-I. We added surf & turf crab legs and Nova Scotia lobster tail. Jamie suggested a bottle of wine that was delicious with our steak and when he saw that we might not finish, offered to cork it for us to take with our to-go food. BONUS! The experience was perfect. Great night out:)
Simply another example of a great steakhouse should be. BOA never disappoints and this is because the staff does whatever it takes to make it so. The bottom line is whether it’s on Sunset blvd., or here on Ocean, it’s a little slice of heaven if your religion is great food and wine. Amen.
I had originally booked for a 7pm reservation, and due to LA traffic, I had to move it down. I explained to Megan I was from put of town meeting my boyfriend for dinner, and she was very nice and accommodating. Upon our arrival, valet took our vehicle, ando we were greeted by name by Megan and another gentleman, equally friendly. We opted for outside dining and our server Joseph was very courteous and knowledgeable. Our steaks were delicious and we had an amazing dinner. Definitely worth the price, and I highly recommend. ¡Buen apetito!
We sat on the patio and watch the sunset as we enjoyed great wine and excellent food. They table side ceasar salad was excellent and has a Lil spicy kick, truly delicious. The rub on the filet was excellent and perfectly cooked! Try the lime-corn it was great!
Sent back first two appetizers. Tuna tartare was dry and tasted days old. No excuse when SM seafood is blocks away. Lamb was so over salted you couldn't taste the meat. Brussels weren't cooked. Both fish dishes were good but everything else was a bust and the management didn't offer anything to make up for our experience. Worse, despite informing the restaurant (via OpenTable) it was a birthday celebration, they did nothing to mark the occasion. Sadly, a once staple of ours is off the list.
Can never go wrong with BOA SM. Our food was fantastic as always and service was very nice.
The only negative was we felt they really cramped a lot of tables (too many) in the restaurant, there seems to be a constant traffic over our head and a little more personal space would've been really nice but we had a great time.
We had a great time at BOA. I've been there several times but only for special occasions. We were celebrating my niece's 18th birthday. The food is very good especially the sides. They could have a few more special plates - something that only they serve. The cocktails should be less sweet. The service is good - everyone is very nice and attentive. What BOA is missing is the little things and this is the reason I didn't give it a 5. For example, the desert was brought before we were provided with utensils. So we sat there for a while waiting for utensils to eat desert.
We took our 12 year old grandson.
He loves steak, and said it was the best steak he ever had. Great selections on the menu, even if you
Don't order steak. Very nice severice and ambiance. Will recommend it to friends. Glad there
Was valet parking. Asked for a quiet
Table, and we had one.
Our favorite spot for dinner. My girlfriend and I used to like Penthouse Mastros the best, but their food quality has taken a dive since Landry's took it over. Everything is better....seafood, appetizers, and especially the meat quality. We have not had a disappointing meal yet.
