Fantastic! Service was top notch. Very personable, informative and attentive. Food was amazing. The cauliflower appetizer is a knock out, Brussel Sprouts also great as a starter. Food was beautiful, unique and tasty. we will be back!
Great experience! Quiet enough to enjoy conversation, super friendly and attentive waiters, and a happy vibe. My friends had scallops and lobster risotto that they loved. I had mussels and fries. The mussels were so good.
Great availability for large groups for Sunday Brunch
Great ambiance. Good selection of vegetarian options.
Would recommend for date night. Only drawback tables are too close to next table, so limited privacy
Our server was excellent. The food was great and I’ll definitely be back.
It was wonderful as always. The butter cake for dessert was delicious.
Our servers were great and the food was fantastic! We actually asked for recommendations and the waiters that night were spot on with what they recommended (pork chop and scallops). Great service, great food!
We were there for the first night of restaurant week and the wait staff was very helpful and accommodating to us in helping with some requested substitutions. The food was amazingly delicious. The restaurant was very quaint and comfortable, yet also hip and stylish. We had a most enjoyable experience and would highly recommend this restaurant.
Thank you Anthony for such wonderful service. You will such a great server. We enjoyed your personality and kindness. The food was superb and you made my birthday celebration so much fun!! Thank you very much.
Food was perfect in flavor and size. The white chocolate cheesecake was one of the best desserts I have ever had. Top notch all around
We sat outside on the patio during restaurant week. The atmosphere is quiet beautiful, the food delicious, the service attentive and friendly. I had the pork chop which was moist and flavorful, my friend got the fish and really enjoyed it.
Great hidden gem to dry in Hillcrest neighborhood.
Outstanding service, creative and delicious food, and a wonderful atmosphere. KJ was an awesome server and we had a great brunch celebrating my parents' 60th anniversary. Will definitely return.
We went to Bo Beau's to try their End of Summer Clambake. Super glad we did. All 4 of us ordered it and we left very satisfied and happy we had come. Great pot of shellfish. Bye the way a second glass of wine was .10, thats right TEN CENTS! WOW.
We also had Lava cake for dessert and all of us thoroughly enjoyed.
Service was great Brooks took care of our every need, even reminding us about the parking meters.
Good wine selection and well prepared food
Kiel and David are AWESOME! Thank you both so much!
Food was barely lukewarm when arriving at table. Tartare was overdressed with mustard and had sinews so was not properly chopped/butchered. Caesar was good...love the white anchovies. I went to the location in Point Loma years ago a few times and loved it. Unfortunately this location did not live up to my fond memories of this restaurant, seems the quality has gone down.
Bo Beau is always great for dinner, but they missed the mark a bit for brunch. My breakfast was OK, and we had to keep asking for things like butter, syrup, jam, and water... not the usual level of service or quality. Probably just an off morning since we were one of the first to arrive for the day.
Wait staff was awesome. Food was great. We sat on the back patio which is really nice. Charcuterie board was amazing.
Loved my meal and I felt very special for my birthday! Thank you
We love our BO-Beau’s all around town! So much so, that we can enjoy brunch or dinners whenever we’d like. Keep up the great work.
Great atmosphere and amazing food! Would definitely go back!
We’ve eaten here before and also at the La Mesa location, and have always enjoyed it.
Our food was very good, as always, but this time service was not up to par. Our waiter misheard or misunderstood our wine order, which is not a huge deal, it happens all the time. If there was any question about what was being ordered he should have cleared it up on the spot, but he didn’t. But then he proceeded to act as if it was my dining companion’s fault. It wasn’t.
After that he seemed to ignore us for the rest of the evening. Everything was really slow.
I would go back again, because it was good food. I especially loved the butter cake but I wouldn’t want that same waiter.
Love the date night !!
Excellent waiter and food.
Will go again !!
Back patio was great, as was food. Scallops recommended. We went next door to the speakeasy after dinner, and that was fun. Enter through the Mexican restaurant next door and go thru the big refrigerator door into a 20s wonderland.
Had an amazing experience. KJ our waiter was great! I am gluten sensitive and he and the kitchen went out of thier way to ensure I enjoyed my meal. GF options on the menu which was awesome.
Not as many Brussels in the order as other locations and not as good. I wouldn’t recommend the flatbread, it was dry seemed like the added some topping a to a pre baked crust. The flatbread is much better at the La Mesa location at all.
There were 3 of us for dinner and we each enjoyed our entrees very much. We ordered one dessert to share and the waitress asked if we were celebrating a special occasion. It was for the birthday of one of our party so she brought a slice of delicious butter cake with ice cream and a candle.
We ate outside on the front patio by choice because it was a very nice evening and we thought it would be quieter than inside the restaurant. This would have been true except for the very loud music from Libertad, another Cohn Group restaurant next door. Fortunately, the music switched from the loud Mexican music to quieter French music after about half an hour. Quiet restaurants are very hard to find anymore.
We will return to this restaurant because the food is excellent.
Every dish was amazing. And we had a lot! 10 of us with appetizers and entrees. 2 complimentary creme brûlée for birthday celebration. You can’t go wrong with anything you choose.
My husband and I had an afternoon movie date and found that bo-Beau was a few blocks away and looked forward to trying it for the first time. We are familiar with the majority of the Cohen restaurants so knew we were in for a treat. We arrived for our reservation at 4:00pm and loved the ambience, but found no one present until I found someone in the kitchen chopping away at some vegetables. I told him “we are your 4:00 reservation and here we are”!. The man immediately took us in hand and seated us. The rest of the staff showed up and began taking our order and we were off to a special experience. I ordered the Lobster Bisque and remarked “I’ve had this all over the world, and yours holds up very well with my expectation”. I also ordered the Mushroom Ravioli and a glass of their Spanish Viognier. The ravioli was a perfection of flavors and the wine and this ravioli were made for one another. With the excellent service, I was delighted with the whole dining experience and look forward to returning soon.
Unfortunately, I received notice from Open Table that I was listed as a “no show” for my 7/23/19 4:00pm reservation, so apparently our visit was not recorded. I did use my credit card (ending in 9239), a gift certificate, and some cash for the tip. I hope that helps to clear up the incorrect “no show”.
Great food and wine list. The staff was friendly and the patio setting was perfect.
The food was good. And I mean just that, good. Not bad, nothing was cooked improperly or tasted bad but didn’t have any type of WOW factor and nothing blew me away. I’m glad I went and tried it but I don’t know if I would go back. The staff was incredibly kind and helpful! Our waiter picked out a delicious bottle of wine that went with our meal perfectly. If you’re looking to try French cuisine for the first time, I’d try this place!
I would be interested to try the OB location as well. Servers and staff were extremely friendly and gave great recommendations. Sat outside the weather, lighting, and the noise level was perfect. Would strongly recommend this to anyone
The servers remember us when we come in and this is always a great venue. Highly recommend.
The server was truly exceptional and the food was amazing! We will be back!
The restaurant was no more than average. We have been there before and will not return. There are so many restaurants in Hillcrest and this is not a top choice. We asked if one of the wines was on the dry side and the server informed us that since the restaurant is “French cuisine” the wines are therefore all on the dry side! Okayyyyy. One of the entrees we ordered was a beet salad with salmon. As the plate was being served the salmon rolled off onto my sister’s lap and on to the floor. They brought another piece of salmon halfway through the consumption of the entrees. When paying the check, the server whisked the clipboard with the check and credit cards off the table and the credit cards flew through the air and onto the floor. The server didn’t even know it until we had to call across the room to tell him. It’s so sad today that restaurant staff has no clue of doing the right thing when something goes wrong. The salmon was not comped. That would have been the right thing. The manager never came over to apologize. That would have been the right thing. No, not returning. Try another place.
very nice place, beautiful decor, very good food and the service was first class. Every body was so kind and so attentive, loved it!
We enjoyed a lovely meal and outstanding desert. We will be back soo
Went for dinner on Friday night. Excellent service from Kayla. Knowledgeable on the menu and the wine list. We sat on the back patio, which was excellent, laid back feel. The menu is good, it was hard to decide what to order. Choose the local catch (yellow tail), nice plating. Husband had the prime rib with frites and loved it. All was good. Good sized portions and good value. We will be back. They have a happy hour that looks good.
Every year we take our two married sons and their wives for dinner to celebrate our anniversaries, which are only a few days apart. This year we chose BO-beau kitchen + cache - and are so glad we did! Brooks, our server for happy hour cocktails and apps on the front patio, was friendly and funny. We had dinner on the back patio, which was very relaxing. We all enjoyed our entrees, especially the moules & frites, pork chop, and salmon - but the highlight of our evening was our server Kaela. She is friendly, helpful, courteous, has a great sense of humor - ask for her! A delicious anniversary dessert capped a memorable evening.
