BO-beau kitchen + cache
My husband and I went to Bo-beau to celebrate Valentine's Day on Feb. 16. We started with appetizers of brussel sprouts and cauliflower. It was so good we could have made a meal out of it! We then had the delicious Farmer's Salad and my husband had the Scallops and I had the Steak Frites. So good. We topped it all off with a fabulous Butter Cake! Everything was fantastic! The food is really delicious and the staff are all very nice and very efficient. No one was hurrying us, even though the restaurant was very busy and the wait staff was attentive, but not hovering. It was a great experience and we will definitely go back!
Food was delicious, staff was great. We had the duck confit poutine, mussels with lobster bisque, chicken fricassee and duck confit, all were dreamy to say the least.
Good place to eat! Service is very good and the food was excellent. Hope to go more n more!
Early Valentine’s Day date night
We sat on patio on a rainy evening and it was warm and comfortable. Service and food were great! We will definitely return!
We always have a great experience at this restaurant. Food and service are always outstanding.
Good food date night was hit.
I will always come back for those brussels sprouts!
We enjoyed our meal at Bo Beau. It was Restaurant Week - three courses for $50. I can recommend the scallops, the steak frites and the beef Papardelle as main courses. The exception was the gnocchi which tasted like burnt squash. The soup a l'onion was not spectacular but it was acceptable. The beet, chèvre and arugula salad was tangy and creamy and delicious. We tried a bottle of their GSM red blend from Paso Robles and were not too impressed, bit it is pretty fruit forward so if you like that, you might want to try it. It's reasonably priced and the more we drank the better it seemed. It went well with my pappardelle.
Our waiter was very attentive and efficient. If you want his opinion on wines he'll be thrilled to pontificate and if you don't he'll pontificate anyway :)
It was good, nothing to write home about.
Great service! Love their escargot and really enjoyed the steak frites with the ribeye. The butter cake is amazing! Stay away from the lobster risotto. The acidic tomato sauce killed the delicate lobster flavor on top of the lobster flavor being off.
Loved food and have been here before. Our server was great but had too many tables. My dad’s food I had to ask where it was after ten minutes of waiting after our food came- asked the food runner when dropped off originally and they didn’t have an answer. However, server had great recommendations and the food was great- as always.
If just here today, would have done 3 but seemed like behind the seems was just slacking and quality of food and friendliness of server were great
BO-beau has one of the most friendliest and accommodating staff that I have ever encountered.
The inside seating is limited, and persons with wide girths may not be totally comfortable.
We went during Restaurant Week, and the value was excellent.
The food was tremendous. Prepared perfectly. The lobster bisque is wonderful. The flat breads are unique. The lava cake is the best I've had.
As usual with the Cohn group this was a very good experience. Our goal is to try all of there locations. This was our first visit for this location and we were very happy. Our server and the manager were excellent in having great conversation with their customers.
Too cold and very high noise levels. Food was fine and wait staff very friendly.
Service was outstanding, unobtrusive, efficient and friendly. Waitress should be commended; she was charming.
It was a lovely experience on New Years Eve! The service was friendly and professional - all was handled in a timely fashion, but not obtrusive. We got excellent input on the food and drink choices from our waitperson and she was spot on. The filet we (all but 1) chose was perfect, tender, delicious and cooked as requested. We'll be back to sample more of your menu and cocktails!
They were out of the pork chops and Goose suggested the Bouef Bourguignon instead which tasted okay despite having a taste for the chop lingering after dinner. The duck was a skosh on the dry side but the extremely tasty citrusy sauce made up for it. Altogether a good dinner. Service was excellent. Goose was attentive and funny. We sat outside next to the fireplace which was nice on a coolish evening. Would definitely go back and try more dishes next time we’re in the area.
We were here on Christmas, the menu was appealing to everyone in our party and the staff was so kind to allow us to increase our reservation from 4 people to 5. However, the food was less than impressive when we finally sat down- the two people that ordered the prime rib were ill later that night and my pasta was not warm. There was an atrocious sound coming from one of the patio heaters that completely ruined anything good about the evening. Servers kept walking by as if they didn’t hear it but it was so unbearably loud that it was impossible to ignore. They turned it down or off a few times through the evening but one patron in particular continued to ask for it to be turned back on. Our espressos at the end of the night were taken off the bill and I did speak to a hostess about my complaints, and assured them I wasn’t looking for a free meal. The experience overall was very disappointing though and I surely won’t be returning anytime soon.
Christmas Day dinner - ordered from a set menu so didn't think it could go wrong. It was a little chaotic and there was something wrong at every point, but we were on holiday and I wasn't cooking! We ended up laughing about it, but the food was just about average and certainly not worth the price. Dessert was nice though.
Service was great! Food was delicious. I had the prime rib and it was cooked perfectly
Lovely spot for dinner, great food and service. Spent Christmas eve dining with family and had a lovely time. Very accommodating to our changing arrival as we were out of state guests. Our go to spot in the future. Thank you!
Birthday. We got our own little area that worked out great for our toddler
Slow service but incredible food, drinks and ambiance! Highly recommend
Prices are reasonable and atmosphere is nice. But service was slow and good was surprisingly mediocre. Disappointing.
Great service. Good food!
Wonderful food. Pleasant environment. Good wine list. Experienced servers. Couldn't ask for more!
French enough to please us. The brunch was a surprise. We thoroughly enjoyed the experience.
Bo beau is a fantastic restaurant to get great food and take a break from the other touristy areas of San Diego. Scallops were Amazing!
Overall, food was excellent and service was great. Bit loud, but nothing crazy. The only thing off about the experience was the server who seemed bound and determined to be dismissive towards a person in our party, and soley focusing on the other person (there were two of us). Even going so far as to ignore person "a" when it came time to return the credit card and get the receipt signed, by intentionallyhanding the credit card to person "b". Very odd. All in all...recommend!
We love the Bo-Beau restaurant in OB, so for Thanksgiving we visited the new Bo-beau kitchen in Hillcrest. Note, that it was a prix fixe menu that night because it was a holiday. However, the food was not of high quality, my husband's rib eye was so thin and very average. My turkey dinner was dry and not very good. It was definitely a disappointment. We really enjoy Island Prime and Indigo Grill and the OB Bo-beau restaurant, so it was a let down that this location was below par.
It was very loud.. had a hard time hearing each other. They have a 4% surcharge they add to every bill.. when your spending $300. It adds up. We went for Thanksgiving. I don't feel the portions were worth $46. I finished my meal in about 5 minutes. Service was great. Food overall was really good. Probably won't go back. It's just too expensive
Go to restaurant to take family and friends for a standout meal at mid range prices. We love all of the locations.
Fantastic spot for brunch. Greatly appreciate their gluten free options!
Have always enjoyed dining here, until last Saturday.
Spotty service, weak strange tasting iced tea with a large dead bug floating in it.
We were not asked if we wanted something else to drink. We were charged for the tea.
We had very slow service. My food was too salty and cold. I had the scallops. Seems the waitress was trying to get us to keep ordering cocktails.
The waitstaff are really great at this restaurant! They amplify what would already be a great dining experience, with excellent food.
We were pleasantly surprised by Bo-beau. Everything was outstanding, four people and four clean plates by the end. I can't recommend the burger highly enough, very possibly the best in San Diego. Their potato gratin is also intensely decadent and delicious with a great crispy exterior. Our servers were knowledgeable and friendly and the back patio area was quiet and cozy.
Our one gripe was about Cache (the attached bar, not really related to the restaurant experience). We had hoped to grab a drink next door after, since it was previously a great speakeasy-style cocktail bar. The blasting club music and lighter decor turned us away though
