American
BLVD is a modern American restaurant located in Chicago’s West Loop neighborhood that draws inspiration from Hollywood’s Sunset Blvd circa 1950: the golden era’s most iconic strip of dining and entertainment establishments. BLVD combines the glamour, sophistication, and decadence that defined Hollywood in the 1950s with contemporary cuisine, craft cocktails, and modern music, creating an exciting dichotomy between restaurants and personas of the past and present.

Absolutely wonderful. Food was outstanding - the scallops were the best I’ve ever had. Cool funky ambiance, great drinks, and they know how to make a special night even more special

Everything you're looking for in exquisite dining experience awaits you at BLVD. Gorgeous decor, impeccable service and incredible eats. The unique cocktails, impressive wine list (allow Collin to assist in selection, he's first rate sommelier) and detectable food offerings will make for a perfect night. Enjoy!

Came for my guy’s birthday, everything was amazing. My personal favorite was the steak tartar with the bone marrow butter. So good. 22 oz bone in ribeye? Literally melts in your mouth. Brussels sprouts with a poached egg? Such a creative touch. Dario was an amazing server, cannot recommend enough!

REALLY slow service and barely anyone was there. 3 young girls celebrating their bday and not a lot of attention, had to constantly ask for items already had asked for. almost 3 hour meal which was kinda ridiculous

I have become a frequent visitor of BLVD because the food, service and ambiance are all top notch. I have tried more than half the menu now and can't wait to complete this wonderful exploration.

you must try to Hamachi...delicate and so many layered flavors in this dish.

This was a reservation for brunch with the live entertainment. The show was fantastic, when they were performing. We were there at noon and saw them dance twice. I am not sure if they are more consistent if there are more guests? Our service was mediocre at best. We were given a brunch cocktail menu, and when we asked about a full bar menu, he told us it wasn't available. We had to push to see it, and then he blamed it on being his first brunch shift. It took 30 minutes for our first drink and another 20 for an appetizer that we had to remind our waiter about. In that time, he asked us no fewer than 3 times if he could take our order. We told him we wanted to take our time and enjoy the show. He was certainly in a hurry to finish our table. And it was not sold out, so no reason for the hustle. Menu was varied, interesting, and creative. We had beignets, red wine poached eggs, and steak and eggs. All of the food was good. I would like to try again.

My wife and I went to BLVD for her birthday and had a perfect experience. The food (Escargot, Peppers, Squid Ink Pasta dish, and Diver Scallops) was delicious and the service (Logan waiter) was about as good as it gets.

BLVD was fantastic! We had dinner on a Thursday night - one of the specials was a 3 oz. pour of a high end wine. The sommelier came over and explained the provenance of the wine, which made it even better. All the dishes we ordered for our group of four were wonderful; the cacio e pepe, tomato burrata, mussels, duck, shrimp spread, deviled eggs and brussels sprouts. Wish we left room for dessert, but maybe next time since we will definitely be back.

Three times I asked a passing server to get my server and was shooed! Then my food came in a lake of oil. What was that mush corn grits? The oil from the scallops was ridiculous overkill. I liked the crystal chandilier. They gave us a comped (a friend and I came in for our birthdays) a weird desert to share a waffle with a sparkler. However, it was comped so I shouldn't talk trash but it's an odd choice for a classy ambience. Anyways, the food was no impressive at all.

This was our second visit to BLVD, and as before, we were celebrating a birthday. We love the ambience, unique food presentation and taste, and the staff are always professional. This time we had dinner on Thursday night where they featured an entertainer, Manny Flores, a vocalist/guitarist-and he was outstanding!!!

BLVD has a really nice ambiance with decor to match., but they were a little cold and uninviting. We went on NYE and were surprised by the mandatory 3-course pre-fixe menu that we had to order from. It was $85pp and we were not notified of this prior. They were extremely rigid about the menu and our ability to order off the menu. It was more food than we could possibly eat in one sitting and it the food was so-so. I would have preferred to order what I wanted (duck) from the regular menu like most restaurants on NYE and perhaps I could order what I wanted instead of sharing a filet with my wife. She wanted hers medium well because she is pregnant and BLVD had an issue preparing the steak to her preference even though I mentioned she was pregnant and undercooked meat could pose a health risk. Also, I was weirded out by being told that there is a 2 hour limit for our table. I know it is a hot restaurant on one of the busiest days of the year, but we are paying $200+ for a mediocre pre-fixe meal so I would think you would make us feel welcomed.

We ordered a 22-oz ribeye priced at 66 dollars. We asked for a rarity level of medium but it turned out to be a medium well bordering on well done. You’d imagine that a place priced so outrageously high would at least get the quality of the meat right. What a major disappointment. We pointed this out to our waiter and was met with a brief sorry and a brief look of pity. He even took our last remaining slice on the plate without bothering to ask if we’d like to finish it. The only reason our reviews are moderately set are because the location was quiet on the second floor and the starters were decent. What a disappointing night before NYE.

Short ribs were delicious, salmon was mediocre, good wines were chosen. No bread offered at the start ( maybe that’s a Chicago thing or a weight control thing).
Side dishes and appetizers are sized and price “to share “ so plan accordingly.

Waitress was a bit of a snob, didn’t even ask us if we wanted more wine just took our glasses. Felt like we were judged in a way because we are a relatively young couple, but once she saw the tip we left (well over 20 percent) she changed her entire attitude. Wish she would’ve given us a chance from the start.

We thoroughly enjoyed our evening here. We happened upon the happy hour menu to our delight! The Caesar salad and Pink Shrimp ceviche were delicious. The deviled eggs were quite good. The hamburger was just ok. But for $8 each we loved it all. The best part was the wine list which was fabulous and quite reasonable. The Sommelier, Kolin Juckins, assembled a delicious wine list with reasonably priced wines from across the world. We enjoyed Sans Liege The Offering. Thank you Kolin! We will return.

Holiday hats off to a wonderful dinner and evening at beautiful BLVD. The chef kindly prepared a delicious king crab & avocado appetizer on gluten-free toast and a wonderfully tasty chicken entree that extremely delighted our guest who has food sensitivities. Highly recommend BLVD, the chef and attentive wait staff!

BLVD is a pretty room but the service was off the night we were there. It was not very crowded and we asked to make sure there was no cilantro was on anything we ordered. We had the seafood tower which was okay but had cilantro on the dressed oysters (I asked if they were plan and raw..."yes") and there is cilantro on the cauliflower (also overdressed) so of the three things we ordered, two had cilantro. Also, I asked if it was possible to get one of the sauces with the seafood tower (they offer horseradish panna cotta) which I was told could not come with the tower. Seems odd as I would have paid to try it. As I said, it's a pretty room, might be a good place to get a quite drink over near Randolph or Lake St. but there are others that work better and offer better service and food.

So many choices in Chicago. This was disappointing. For a restaurant that was stated as upscale, the service was very poor. The server was average. The food average. Lots of places to eat for 400.00 wand that was with 1 cocktail. For instance crab fest. At this type of restaurant you would think they would crack the claws. Won’t return.

Perfect. We dined last year for our anniversary and decided to make it a tradition. We are from Michigan and spend time around the holidays in Chicago and it coincides with our anniversary. Thoughtful service from Jennifer. Exceptional food. I had the Sea Bass and my husband had the Lamb. Incredible. The Beet and Blue Cheese Salad was wonderful as was the Escargot. The Toffee Pudding with Salted Caramel Gelato - seriously. The restaurant itself is stunning. Truly takes your breath away. We will return every year.

All the dishes were amazing. The server seemed new, and very quiet. He did not space out our food, though. We ordered three appetizers and they all came at once so the hot food was cool when we got to it. So, my advice is to only order what you are ready to eat, and do your own food pacing.
