Multiple items on the menu that we wanted to try guarantees a future return trip. Items selected today (California burger, gourmet grilled cheese with fried egg and tomato soup) did not disappoint.
Blush was a great find; best meal I had eaten in a while! We were seated immediately on arrival out on their comfortable patio area. Atmosphere was pleasant and not too noisy. The staff was very attentive, but not overly so, and made us feel welcome and well taken care of. Wanted a nice "date night" out with my wife, and Blush ended up being an excellent choice.
The crab cake appetizer was very tasty, although I wish there had been a bit more of it since we were sharing. For dinner, my wife ordered their Seared Scallops, while I had their Jerk Chicken with whipped sweet potatoes. Both were savory and exceptionally prepared. Everything was delicious! Our food came out very timely and was at the perfect temperature to enjoy. Makes my mouth water just thinking about that meal again. Even the bread they served was wonderful; warm and fresh. For desert we shared the Creme Brûlée Cheesecake...highly recommended.
We were initially concerned when the musician set up near us that things would get too loud, but he had his sound dialed in just right to enhance the ambiance and not overpower it. Just right.
Great meal and we will definitely go back. Reminded me why you go out for a good meal sometimes. Nice job Blush!
Everything worked out great for a special Birthday dinner!🎉🎂
The outdoor patio was very nice and offered ample shade. Our server was pretty cut and dry. After we got our food, we rarely heard from her again. I asked her for water and it never came...I had to ask a random server walking by for some. She would walk by us and not even say anything. It was a slow Sunday so I'm not sure where she went.
The hollandaise sauce was really tart and unappetizing. I was not a fan at all and neither was my friend that tried it; I'm very happy that I chose to have it on the side because I did not use it. I'm not from the area so I definitely don't plan to go back and my friend that does live there said she won't go back either.
When we made the reservation via Open Table, we asked to sit outside and the email confirmed that request.
My wife and I arrived ten minutes early of our 7:00 p.m. reservation. I checked in and one of the hostesses took us to our table. She took us to a table inside and I told her we requested an outside via our reservation via Open Table. She proceeds to tell me they don't see those messages, but she'll see what she can do. While she goes off to look for a table, I check my email and it shows my request. When she came back I showed her my email she said she could seat us at a High top table outside. I said I can't sit at that kind of table because I have had numerous back surgeries and sitting there will be extremely uncomfortable. She than tells me there's a large party coming in and taking all the tables that are left. I said I'm sorry but that's not we requested. Through this, the hostess is getting very nasty. She storms off to talk to her manager. She came back and took my wife and myself to the outdoor bar area and to the high top. I told her again I can't sit at a high top. In a huff, she said I'll get the manager. I followed her and she told the manager what was going on with the high top table. I showed the manager my email with request. The manager tells me I didn't request a regular table! I said really, we'll just go elsewhere! She replied no don't and I responded that's okay, we'll go elsewhere. She than said we can try and work it out. I said no thank you and advised her that the hostess was rude. She did apologize but I said we will eat somewhere else.
Because our experience, I would never recommend Blush to anyone. Granted, everyone can have a bad night but I'm fond of being lied to and game playing, especially by a manager.
The Chilean sea bass and scallops were cooked to perfection
Went for girlfriends birthday. Food was incredible. She got the ahi tuna tartare, excellent. I got the chicken and risotto. Seriously one of the best chicken dishes I've ever had and can't say enough about the risotto - I cleaned the plate. Combined with a good vibe and chill waitstaff , one of the best restaurants in SB in my opinion.
Food was excelent, service not so much...a bit noise but ok
The food was great, but they staff looked unorganized, they didn't know where to sit us even though I did have a reservation for 2 people. they forgot one of our appetiziers we had ordered.
the food was really good, I do have to say the food was very good. 5 stars to the food, my hat to the chef.
I was very upset with my service. I felt ignored by the wait staff and had to aggressively flag down someone to help me. The food portions are too small for the cost too.
Convenient, lively bar and informal dinner next to the movie theater. While the food was fine, the ambiance and service was a lot like a college kids's dress up dinner and bachlorette party setting. The waiter forgot our drinks and appetizers for a table of four even after several reminders, with both arriving after our main course was served. He gave us "oops, sorry" and comped the appetizers. The bell boys stacked plates on top of our current plates and rushed away with our knives, that sort of thing. All forgiven and ok for a pub, but at these prices, should have better service.
the food is ok(it isn't good) but the noise is terrible!if you seat in the back the music will not let you talk,if you seat in the front, the kitchen noise is awful.so better run away from blush
We sat outside, had a great table, and really enjoyed Blush. Three in my group had burgers. I, the Ahi Salad. My salad was fabulous.
My friends and I were celebrating my bestie's bachelorette party all weekend long and ended it with brunch at Blush. We were tore up by that point and it took us at least an hour to order because everything looked sooo good. The wait staff was more then patient with us and the bloody Mary's were worth the $12. Not as many veggies in them as I would like but I'll just be that weirdo that brings a jar of olives next time. Food was killer. I had the eggs Benedict with hollandaise sauce and it was just what the doctor ordered. The bride to be had the BLT with chicken and pesto and that was delicious. One friend had the tomato soup with grilled tomato cheese which was a fun spin on an old favorite. Another had the Cobb salad but with a vinaigrette which was better then any other Cobb I've tried. Our last girl wanted a burger but with fish and the cook went out of his way to create an ahi burger which wasn't even on the menu. When the bill arrived we realized we probably should have cooled it on all the bloody Mary's but all in all it was totally worth it. A+
I made reservations at Blush after doing a little research online. My boyfriend approved of my choice 100%! Dinner was amazing and the service was great! I've already recommended it to friends who are moving there!
Nice music in the background as we sat on the patio. The food was good and the service was just ok.
Food and drinks are good although service was lacking. When server came around, she was really nice! Waited over 45 min for entree which was served by a different waitress who was nice as well. Appetizers came out after entree. After eating we waited ten minutes before asking for the check. We had to wait approximately another ten minutes before someone picked up the payment for check!
I picked Blush to have my birthday dinner and it was a great decision. The food was amazing, it was so tastful. I had the salmon with Quinoa plate. The service was on point. The server knew exactly what we needed. We sat outside which was really nice and they had a live guitarist playing that night. I will definitely dine here again.
Food was delicious and service was fantastic (and we were really picky!). They make a great martini, too! Highly recommend the steak bites. Grilled asparagus was perfectly prepared.
Just OK place. Somewhat noisy and not much ambiance.
For a restaurant in Santa Babara, surrounded by wonderful wineries, I thought the wine list terrible. Hardly any local wineries, and grocery store wines btg. The server was nice and polite , but under trained.
Lovely patio and waiter was great. Food was nothing special. Music was loud and annoying.
I went to Blush to celebrate a special accasion with my daughter. The staff was freindly and accomodating, the atmosphere was lovely and the food and drinks excellent. I would certainly go back and refer friends to go as well.
Awesome spot for brunch! We ended up coming back Sat night too for their wonderful cocktails :)
This is a very clean, semi-high end and trendy restaurant. They have a great outdoor patio for dining with fire-pit tables. Great outdoor bar. Indoor dinning is beautiful as well. The tables are spread out so you don't feel cramped like most places. A good varieties of food to select from. Great cocktails list. Great place for group dinning or just relax outdoor by the bar. They usual play music in the latter evening in the outdoor patio. One of my favorite place to go to every time I have guests visiting me.
We had a very lovely brunch and the atmosphere was great. Service was a bit slow but it was Mother's Day Brunch so we expected it! Waiting wasn't an issue because it was so relaxing and the waitresses were very nice. The food was seriously on point. No complaints there. My ahi tuna salad was pretty amazing. Great presentation. Great wine and drink list. The sangria was so yummy. We will be returning!
I don't think I have disliked anything at Blush yet. I recommend coming with friends, ordering a whole bunch of different things (esp. from the small bites and daily specials menu), and eating tapas style. Don't forget the drinks. You will have the best meal here this way. You have to leave room for dessert and order some of those to try as well... priorities, my people.
This is a pretty restaurant on State Street with nice atmosphere and a very nice outdoor patio with fireplaces and heaters. Our food was very good and our waiter Bethany was professional and friendly. We had a 7:30pm dinner reservation and sat in a large booth indoors. There is a lively, young, and somewhat noisy bar scene as the night goes on so if you want quiet go before 8pm or for lunch.
Horrible service. We had reservations at 9:30 and they said their kitchen was closed and we had to sit at the bar even though they close at 12. We were willing to sit at the bar but it seemed like no one felt like working or serving us. Not going back.
We went for a bachelorette party and it practically ruined our entire weekend. The service was one of the worst I have ever had. They were rude and overall it was a beyond terrible time. Never, ever again! This place is a joke.
Very expensive for Easter brunch. Had to wait even though we had reservations.
I have always enjoyed going to Blush. The food has always been excellent. The crab cakes were excellent as was the Chilean Sea Bass. This time however I think my food sat around for awhile before receiving it and it wasn't warm and my decaf coffee was stone cold when received. So this time I gave only 3 stars. Hopefully next time I can bring it up to 4 stars.
I got the bacon & brie flatbread with a side of truffle risotto. The flatbread was mainly all bacon with only 2 penny sized pieces of Brie on top. It tasted good, but wasn't what I was expecting from the menu's description. The risotto I got wasn't even close to done. Some of the pieces of rice were hard...it probably had 20 minutes of cooking time left when they served it to me. My boyfriend got a burger and fries, which he said was pretty standard.
Overall, the ambience was nice, but their was an odd crowd running back & forth from the bar inside to a dj outside. The restaurant felt more like a nightclub towards the end of our dinner than a nice place to dine.
Decent/ok food. Pleasant but brief service, but the noise level and the harsh, cold interior ruined the experience for us.
Been here a few times before, and we love the outdoor setting with heater lamps.
The food is awsome and a great wine list also!
Will be back soon!
Very Nice would go again!
Employees were quite polite, food was pretty good and the ambiance was fine, however the service was a let down. They took 10 mins to set-up our table in an empty restaurant (although we had an booked an appointment), they forgot to provide knives when they provided forks, our glasses weren't refilled often enough.
The food was average but the service was terrible. Our waiter took our order and vanished, only occasionally returned to the table but would forget what we requested.
Food was great! Service not so much, our server didn't even give us her name or any introduction. We will be back, but will get a different server.
Good food. Friendly atmosphere.
