Service was awful and didn't get any better as the night progressed. The food looked great on the plate & the presentation was nice but after a few bites i really wasn't impressed with the flavors. Also, another odd thing was they didn't offer any type of sugar substitute at the table. I asked and they only had real sugar available to mix in my iced tea. The waitress looked at me as if I was crazy when I simply asked if they had other options such as Splenda, Equal, or even Sweet&Low!! The employees here seem too pre-occupied with socializing with their friends rather than serve tables - especially on a Friday night when I was there. I only came here since it was a bonus point restaurant but I won't be coming back again.

We stumbled upon this place by chance while spending the weekend in Santa Barbara. The food was absolutely amazing! The restaurant itself has a beautiful outdoor seating area and the staff are very knowledgeable about the menu items. Definitely want to come back!

We were in Santa Barbara for an 8pm event and needed a 5:45pm dinner reservation. We knew nothing about the restaurant other than the info on the website. When I book on Open Table I always ask for a booth or table by a window or along the wall and it's sometimes accommodated.

When we arrived at Blush we were immediately greeted at the door and it was clear they noted the request because we were seated in what had to be their nicest table. It was a roomy booth in the front window - secluded from the other diners. The restaurant was moderately busy but the server quickly approached, gave us menus, water followed along with an amazing basket of warm assorted La Brea bakery bread and a mixed herb butter. We ordered cocktails that were well made and reasonably priced and the seared tuna appetizer - it was a generous serving dressed with fried wontons, a nice sauce & seaweed. We passed on entrees and instead ordered from their sharing & appetizer menu. We had the steak bites, fried cauliflower, lobster Mac n'cheese and a bowl of clam chowder. Everything was delicious and my only criticism was the very meager $10 plate of cauliflower. The wine list was very nice and it was unusual to see splits of champagne for a fair price.

When my husband wished me a happy birthday, our wonderful server Chelsea overheard and brought us a warm chocolate cake covered with a cherry & raspberry compote and topped with lavender whipped cream...it was the perfect end to a very fine meal!

One of the criticisms in the Open Table review was that the food was good but the service was awful - I am happy to say that our experience was perfect and I expect that had to do with Chelsea! We plan on recommending this restaurant to our friends who are Santa Barbara residents!

Amazing restaurant! We came here for my bachelorette and they treated us like royalty. The food was wonderful. We shared the flatbreads, mac and cheese, steak bites, and salads. Can't go wrong with any item. The bread is also so good! Our waiter was wonderful and the manager was so kind! Highly recommend this place!

My fish tacos were amazing. My wife's vegetable pasta was the opposite....to rich and heavy. I wrote in the reservation notes to have a inside table and that it was my wife's birthday. They asked where we wanted to sit and never acknowledged her birthday so apparently the notes are not read. Took a very long time to get our food and it was far from busy. That being said....we really like this place and will go back.

The service was very prompt and the waiter was informative. We enjoyed the food very much, it was creative and tasteful. The seating is good and spread out, be sure to ask for a booth if that's what you desire.

Fun atmosphere. Made a reservation late on a Saturday so music was pretty loud so not a great place if you want to have lots of conversation. Music was good. Food was delicious. I got the ahi appetizer & steak bites. The ahi was a littler spicier than I anticipated but still really good. The steak bites were so tender & flavorful, also good portion. My boyfriend had short rob which was really good as well and a large portion. Food came really hot too which made it even better. Worth a visit!

I was so glad to find this restaurant. My family and I drove down to Santa Barbara for the day, and looked to me to recommend a good place to eat. I came across this place, and when we walked in it was really cozy, the lighting is super cool, bar is really neat, and the booths are extremely comfortable. We ordered an array of different things : the steak bites (heaven) lobster mac and cheese, salmon, and the grilled chicken, and each thing was delicious. It got to the table and was still smoking hot (my pet peeve is luke warm food that just came out of the kitchen), and afterwards, even though we were stuffed, we opted for the warm cookies and ice cream, apple tart, and the creme brulee. Everything was really delicious, came out in a timely manner, and we all really enjoyed ourselves. Such a great place to eat on State Street. I would definitely come back.

Having been to an evening private party that was really good, we were excited to try brunch. Sorry to say it was not good. One of us ordered a steak that was really over cooked. The other meals were mediocre. The worst part was the noise created by the staff. They were throwing trays and banging dishes. Our server was good and tried to make our experience better with no success.

I asked for an ingredient to be taken out of my order because of allergies. Server said fine but it was in the food and a mess to remove. My friend got a dish which she found much to hot to eat but at that point and when we needed the check the waiter was no where to be found.

While the majority of the food was outstanding the service was sorely lacking. We had to ask the hostess to find our waiter to order a couple of cups of coffee. After waiting 15 minutes we again had to ask the hostess to find our waiter to cancel the coffee and to bring a check. The waiter seemed more concerned with friends and other staff (not on duty) hanging at the bar. At the price point this shouldn't happen.

Food was very good. The front of house service was very poor. The couple at the table next to us left because they were seated and then ignored. We had 4-5 different people coming with our order bringing us incorrect dishes and not bringing things we requested. Very poorly coordinated service.

Good food; especially mentioning the sauerkraut, although the New York strip was very tender too. Service was good but I choose the wrong place to sit next to the door on a cold evening. (totally my own mistake). Surprised by the good food.

Christmas day ... so OK ... no one really wants to be there ... we would all rather have family, etc. But ... my 90 year old Mom makes things difficult so we chose to go to a restaurant. Had not been to Blush before ... nice place really ... maybe when not on Christmas with Mom. Prix Fixe menu was sort of disappointing at $45 per ... I liked the asparagus and mushroom salad ... the 3 scallops on a puree was OK ... the brulle was not up to crispy top snuff but OK. Mother's crispy chicken should have come with a steak knife. Ordered a glass of chard for Mom and she got Champagne ... oh well ... they replaced the glass ASAP. All I can say is ... $45 for what was essentially a small "taster" experience was a tad disappointing. BUT! we appreciate all the staff being there ... and doing the best they could on a sunny SOCAL Christmas Day.

My family came here for Thanksgiving. Worst meal ever. We paid a fixed price and I swear the turkey must of come out of a can. It was not fresh. Bread was dry. Beef tenderloin had no flavor. Horrible experience.

Very slow service and they reset the entire patio during our Thanksgiving meal, arguing amongst themselves and really detracting from our holiday meal. The food was tasty but came out very slowly for what was all surely pre prepped and warmed holiday fare.

Been here many times. The last few times seems the food quality has gone down. We ordered from the special menu and my wife had the butternut squash food. No flavor and actually was resembling baby food in taste and consistency. I had the halibut special, sauce was yummy, but the fish was tough and overcooked. My son had the pumpkin ravioli for $21. There was 4 small ravioli on the plate. More of an appetizer than an entree.

Service was very good and we were well taken care of but the food left us leaving hungry and regretting our choice

Being somewhat famous for grilling steaks, I normally do not order them in restaurants, but I was very impressed with the bone-in ribeye I ordered at Blush. Blush has a great buzz and ambience in the evening for alfresco dining. Surprisingly good wine list with lots of high-end California selections. Service was attentive and friendly.

I had attended several happy hours at Blush in the past and admired the feel of the place, but this was our first meal here. I don't impress easily, but I was impressed.

I would recommend Blush very highly.

Was in Santa Barbara to celebrate our anniversary. There were so many options to choose from for a nice dinner. We selected Blush based on user reviews and their menu choices. Food was excellent. When we arrived our table was set and waiting for us. We actually moved to a quieter table. The service was great, very helpful, but not hovering (this was true of all the service staff). We ate outside where there was plenty of room (tables weren't crowded together. Had a delightful anniversary dinner. (They also treated us to dessert of our choice!) Will definitely come back again when we are in town.

It was a birthday celebration. Wanted to be outside patio area, but full. We had an attentive waiter. The bartender had a hard figuring out a drink called the Bees Knees. They never got it right. I thought the food was just OK. Later we went to LARK for a drink at the bar. That place was packed. Your restaurant was half full. Why?
