Awesome Oktoberfest meal in a cute and intimate setting.
Any time you walk through a service door, past a walk in and down some stairs you’re winning. We arrived in a charming backyard for an Octoberfest date. The schnitzel was amazing and the mushroom ragout was off the hook- nutty and rich. The service was great. We’ll definitely be back! Hi
Cute and cozy date night spot. Loved the oktoberfest menu!
I love this place, happy Oktoberfest
The charcuterie board is a must! Something for everyone.
We were very disappointed. There was no real Oktoberfest ambiance. The food was good, but it wasn’t moderately price. . There was really nothing festive about the occasion. We had been to another Oktoberfest in Westchester County and there was a big difference.
Loved Blume - went for Oktoberfest. Intimate (about 5 or 6 picnic tables) outdoor, covered, seating in the backyard of Schaller and Weber. Wonderful surprise!
The food was great although the beer selection was a little lacking. Wine was also available however, our party all opted for beer. At the end of our visit, an accordion player was playing Oktoberfest music which was the perfect accompaniment and was much preferred over the too loud non-Oktoberfest music that had been playing over the speakers. All in all it was a great time!
Terrific German food and beers to celebrate Oktoberfest!
Unique small outdoor space to enjoy Oktoberfest
Food was very good, but for an “Oktoberfest” it was super quiet, which is always awkward at a restaurant, and none of the ambiance you would expect. Note that it says “outside” but the space is completely covered by a tent, so not an outside feel (if that’s what you’re looking for). The music they played was really experimental and not a good vibe.
Again, really enjoyed my meal, but this is not the place to go for an Oktoberfest.
Food was great, as was atmosphere. Would definitely return.
Love going to the street side Stube so was looking forward to doing Octoberfest at Blume. Food was delicious and service excellent!
Sometimes a good prior experience doesn’t guarantee a good repeat one. Last time we ate here we had a good meal and service. This time we had to send our sausages back three times. Each time it was because the sausages were spoiled. They tasted sour and old. We would have accepted this as an anomaly except for the waitresses comment to us. She said she didn’t understand because the chef tasted the sausage and it was OK. We own a flavor company and evaluate flavors daily. We know when meat is bad.
expect additional wait from your reservation time during oktoberfest. food is good, although some of the dishes portion were small even by european standards. service was ok, i imagine due to staff shortage. i would suggest avoiding top peak season. sns / socom presentation has a little cat fish feel to it, dont go in with a toppy expectation
Few tables so quick turnover- for a 4:45 reservation we were told to be done by 6:00. Host not very helpful. Great beer, great pretzel/charcuterie board. If I wasn’t a regular customer of S&W probably wouldn’t come back.
The restaurant offered an Octeoberfest menu which was very good. Outdoor dining in the rear provided great ambiance.
Fun experience for Oktoberfest. Great sausages, jumbo pretzel and the Festbier was delicious.
Reminiscent of a Bavarian Biergarten in the backyard behind Schaller and Weber -food was yummy and beer tasty. The Kaiser swarm for dessert is not to be missed.
What a great surprise to find this great restaurant. I'm not sure how long it will be serving as my wife tells me it is a pop-up restaurant. The food and service was so good that I'm going to make a point of going back in the next few days so I don't miss out on there great German food. Their wursts are outstanding as are their potato pancakes. Desert was the one of the best I've ever had a any restaurant. Make sure you don't miss this one.
The best wurst! A live accordion player in the background, great beer, Sacher Torte, giant pretzels. Schmeck!
Terrible. Technically “outdoors” but was very enclosed. Did not check vaccination status. Sat other people right next to us at same table. Do not recommend.
Yeah, I too, dined there two days ago (9/3) when the staff/management was hanging out with their obnoxiously and embarrassingly loud friends. It was beyond rude and unprofessional. We have dined here before and were really looking forward to a couple of courses each and a few drinks, but we only ordered main courses and a drink each because it was clear that no consideration was being given to the diners. We finished our evening elsewhere.
The noise level was way too loud for an enjoyable date. Management / the waitstaff were hanging out with several friends, who were seated at a table and were *incredibly* loud, to the point of being disrespectful.
I love the ambience, very nice for a date. I’m also impressed by their wine list.
Service and the food it’s not good
Really enjoyed the unique setting and Austrian/German cuisine
The place is hard to find but has an amazing entrance. The decor is amazing but the food is not worth it. We got the lobster roll and it had no taste..oysters were good and cheese plate was regular.
The restaurant feels like a well kept secret. Almost like a speakeasy. Down a steep flight of steps with an almost Caribbean feeling despite its German roots.
I had one of the best lobster rolls ever accompanied crisp and so delicious potatoes. The Schnitzel was excellent as were all the appetizers.
Wish there was coffee or cappuccino to go with desserts-just had espresso.
Attentive servers and a young vibe, I would highly recommend it with the caveat that this isn’t fussy beautifully plated food. So wear your jeans and dig in!
Too dark, too noisy. I loved last summer, felt crammed in winter, and am not enthusiastic now. There are better choices around.
Food was great! We would definitely recommend this little gem to others.
Fresh and delicious food — generous servings and beautifully prepared. This restaurant is special, and the entrance is nearly hidden, so it’s like a secret little gem!
We enjoyed the summer iteration of this restaurant. The food and especially the wine options were wonderful, and the atmosphere was comfortable and uncrowded on a weeknight, made even more cozy by a thunderstorm. One of the servers wore a mask under his chin the entire night, which is totally pointless, but I digress.
Great food and fun ambiance
Here’s the thing.. We loved the speak easy entrance.. and that it’s a very intimate setting yet rustic fun.. but you’ve got to expand your menu.. if you are a fan of Shaller& Weber.. it’s about the food.. not pasta
The schnitzel was very tasty.. but you need pork chops, sausage maybe even your tasty fried chicken.. on the menu!! Not sure why you don’t as it’s all upstairs ???
Please expand the food.. keep the restaurant size.. makes it fun and a little mysterious.. all well needed on the UES!!
Delicious food and super friendly staff!
Such a cute spot, food was delicious!
I SO wanted to love this place having learned about it shopping above at my butcher. They've made the space very cute and rustic and it's always nicer to be outside but away from the busy streets. Unfortunately, there's no service to speak of. The two people running the room don't seem to know much about food or the wine list that is one of the big draws. And they spent most of their time talking to each other. I expected more from a spot that charges about $30 per (required) entree.
I ordered the Schnitzel because the quality of the veal in the store is so high, but it needed lemon juice to cut the grease. The slice on the plate was from the end and was more decorative than functional. I would have asked for an additional slice, but no one ever came to the table to see how we were doing even though I'd indicated that I wanted to try a second wine. The cucumber salad was delicious, but there were only about two tablespoons worth. Ditto with the lingonberries. What a disappointment.
Absolutely delicious food will come back
Food, ambience, service, and music soundtrack were all wonderful. Will definitely make another trip there.
Down a dingy staircase....waiters longing on a bench.....long wait for lukewarm food that was supposed to be hot..i.e.Viener Schnitzel.... spaetzel that was like Mac and cheese...carelesss.service..overpriced.. a big disappointment as I live nearby
