The architecture, location immediately next door to our Bluff House B&B, and ambiance (including Christmas tree) were all enjoyable. It's a bit noisy for conversation--a common problem with the overall restaurant scene.
Fantastic post-graduation dinner for family after my daughter graduated from Mizzou. A short drive from the hustle and bustle of downtown - which is what we wanted. Beautiful room, great service, was just the perfect experience. Food was Ah-mazing.
The Bistro is my go-to for family celebrations, date night and especially outside seating overlooking the Missouri River Valley. The diverse culinary presentations and outstanding service bring me back year after year. I highly recommend Les Bourgeois Vineyard Bistro!
The food and service we're terrific! Creative dishes embrace a wide range of cuisines paired with local wines. Beautiful views and desserts we're delicious too. Only negative, the coffee is really terrible.
Enjoyed Sunday brunch with a group of friends. Beautiful restaurant, amazing view of the Missouri River, great food and outstanding service!
We not only enjoyed the food but the view was amazing. Thanks for such an awesome date night.
Food was half as good as at Cherry Street, for the same price. May be worth it at times for the ambience and river view.
I was not impressed with the food. The place was very pretty and had a great view. If you are looking for a nice place to get some drinks that's what I would recommend it for.
Love this restaurant, the view and food are always incredible. The only downside this time was a reception downstairs playing loud music that made the floor vibrate. But after coming here for 10 years I still highly recommend, just not during a special event.
We had reservations for a party of 8. When we arrived the place was not full, but we were seated at 2 tables pulled together - appropriate seating for 6. We had to have another table added. Our waitress was pleasant but spread too thin, mixed up orders and didn't come by often enough. Generally, the food was bland, overcooked, and expensive. There was a large party going on downstairs making the dining room so loud everyone had to talk very loudly to be heard, making the whole place very loud. Overall, a disappointing evening.
Great place. Have had some very good meals here, this was not one of the better ones.
The Cheese Board was a delightful presentation and even more delicious. This is a quiet, "get away from it all" place perfect for a quiet evening with someone special, or a gathering of friends for a special occasion. Having grown up in Missouri, the river overlook felt homey and welcoming. Our waitress was very attentive, helpful, and knowledgeable. I look forward to a return trip soon.
It's been 2 years since I have been to Les Bourgeois. I'm glad that they brought back the soup and salad. The staff were very courteous. The soup was hot and delicious. I loved the Autumn salad.
Excellent cocktails and good food and service, but the noise level was very high. They should let diners know when there are events scheduled in lower level (almost every weekend per our server). We could hear the DJ announcing and such loud music. No ambience in the restaurant or any feeling of a "special place".
The fantastic bluff-top view makes the drive (2 hours for us) and the OK adequate food worth the visit. Excellent attention from entire staff. Very nice wine selection along with mixed cocktails and beers. Complimentary valet parking makes up for the few close handicap spaces. Overall we were very pleased with the experience and recommend a visit.
Rib eyes were fantastic... Wine was also very good!
Attractive restaurant with good food, wine, and service. The view of the Missouri River was quite nice, too.
My wife and I have been to the Bistro many times and we are always pleased with the food and ambience. The menus is always besing updated with new, interesting entry’s and the wines are excellent.
Overall a tad disappointed. I specifically requested outdoor dining so we could enjoy the sunset. The hostess noted my request and said it shouldn't be a problem. When we arrived for dinner, I was told a mgmt decision had been made and no outdoor seating would be served that evening. ...period. Made a nice day end with kind of a dud.
Wine was good.....we enjoyed the Riverboat Red...food was good but not outstanding.
Had gorgonzola cheesecake for appetizer. outstanding! our server was attentive and very good. Food was great and views of autumn trees and river were spectacular.
Location overlooks the river. Window or outdoor seating (weather permitting) are best. Very customer service oriented and friendly. Food and wine were very good.
The bistro offers a beautiful view, and our family went for a special occasion. Unfortunately, the service was fair at best, and the prices are high. It would be hard to substantiate returning.
This place has one of the best brunches around! Such a beautiful scenic area too. Bottomless mimosas were a great touch!
With our early arrival ( 5:15 ) and dinner reservations not until 7:00, the staff was very nice and accommodating in getting us a table earlier than expected. The service was very good. I wish I could remember our servers' name but he was excellent ( light brown hair and beard, tats on forearms ) . The food is quite good but not top-notch. A bit formulaic but the portions are very large. I would pay more for a smaller, more rustic plate. The view, of course, is fantastic. The wines were surprisingly good ( vignoles and the second red on the list ). My wife had fractured her knee cap two weeks earlier so I wish I had called about disabled access. My bad. They have some but could probably use more disabled parking.
The fish items were very good, Salmon and Scallops. The Ribeye steaks were not very good, needed seasoning and were tough.
The 2 apps that we got were great as well. Cheese board and Hummas plate.
Drinks were good. Atmosphere was great.
I am sure we got a new server and she was not on her game. Probably needs more training or shadow.
The view and atmosphere was very nice but the food and service weren't very good for the cost.
Very disappointed in my husband's meal. They did not make him pay. My entree was good. I think it was all overpriced.
Went to the Blufftop for Sunday Brunch to avoid parents weekend crowds in Columbia. We got a great table outside. The view/general ambiance was fantastic. Service was pretty good, but we did catch them just as they opened, so it may have been winding up. We all (3) ended up getting the Chicken & Waffles. Waffles were perfect, tomato bisque and sweet potato fries (sides that come with the meal) were very good as well, but the chicken was a little over-cooked (not bad) .
\Nice relaxing meal with coffee/juice for under $20!!!
We we're visiting our daughter who attends the University of Missouri and wanted to venture off campus and to our delight chose Bluffton, which was close by. The fall harvest menu is delicious, especially the cream of mushroom soup. A very nice group of people served us. The sunset at the lookout was a treat on the Missouri River. And we bought wine to bring back home. As the fall leaves change, I'm sure it'll be a beautiful and memorable sight. We'll definitely be visiting again.
Great service from our waitress & the food was very good except for the meat which was overdone and not as tasty as everything else. I had the autumn salad with grilled chicken, which was cold, and my husband had the pork tenderloin with succotash and asparagus.
We went for a birthday dinner and everything was fabulous!
I would recommend this to anyone and the service was great
The food is AMAZING. Great service. Try it once and you will go back again!!
We dined here with a group of friends. We ordered a variety of dishes; appetizers, sandwiches, salads and main entrees. We were too stuffed for dessert! I ordered a vegetarian option and it was delicious. My husband said his steak was cooked perfectly. Everyone needed a to-go box as the portions were generous. Our server was attentive, but not intrusive.
This place is lovely. We sat on the patio over looking the river for lunch and it was wonderful. The wine selection was great, and the food very good.
We enjoyed the dinner, the view and the wait staff was great.
This is one of many times I have visited the Blufftop Bistro and I am always pleased with all aspects of the place. LOVE the Tomato Basil soup.
I requested a table with a view, and we were seated in a nice location. Starters and entrees were delicious, as was the flourless chocolate cake we shared. Our server was knowledgeable and make us feel comfortable and appreciated. We appreciated the interesting accompaniments to the pork loin (4 of the 5 of us had that). Two of us enjoyed the Norton red wine, which got better as it opened up. After dinner we walked down to the river overlook, and the sunset view was gorgeous. Definitely would recommend the food, ambience, and service.
My husband and I look forward to dining at the Bistro. Wonderful wines and appetizers! Great views of the Missouri River basin!
We asked to have a table with a scenic view when we made the reservation. Instead we had a table right by the kitchen and also sat next to a door to the outside patio seating. We could hear EVERYTHING that went on in the kitchen including some not so pleasant shouting. Also everyone needing to go in and out to the patio area went by us. Service was extremely poor, and waitress apologized for our long wait, yet we were still forced to pay 20% since we were a party of six.
All of us at this table will never go back. Prices were very high for poor service and the food did not warrant it. This is the second time I had such poor service here, but wanted to give them a second chance. I will not chance a third time, nor will my friends who came along. I personally have been going here for over 10 years and it used to be a great place, but no longer is I'm afraid to say
