Stopped on our way home from St. Louis, it was a cloudy day but it was a cozy lunch and great flight tasting of the wine! Service was great! Love this unique place!
A table was ready for our party of six when we arrived with reservations. Our waitress was very helpful and attentive. There was no complaints about the food and my entree of grits with shrimp was delicious. The servings were large and served in an attractive manner.
Had a great lunch with family. Brought our daughter there for just a friendly gathering because we hadn't seen her for a couple months. It is a great venue, great food, great service.
The setting is beautiful and the wait staff very friendly. The food, however, is but a smidge above mediocre. The plastic McCormick salt and pepper shakers on the table and the Pepperidge Farm crackers on the appetizer tray provides a clue. The upscale prices are not in alignment with the food.
Great food and great service. We always enjoy our time spent here.
A lovely brunch and time with good friends. Had the chicken and waffles- Great!
Check out the Bloody Mary - you will enjoy. Really competent good service . A nice brunch indeed.
Nice atmosphere, we had a great waitress! Food was good value. Overall this is a fun place to go for a special date or would be a fun girls event. There was a large group of ladies and several families so it was a nice range of people. The views at this time of year weren't as spectacular as I'm sure the summer would be. Parking is a hike up the hill and would not be fun if it was icy.
We had an amazing server but the food was not as good as we expected. The cheese platter left us wanting. The seafood linguini had more veggies in it then pasta. My dates pork came out rare the first time and took them 30 min to make anouther that was half the size. By the time he got his food dessert came out. They took off half the pork price and comped us dessert so the service was amazing! But the food was not a great experience. Maybe it was just us, but for the price I’d rather go somewhere else.
I recently (for the first time) used Open Table to make reservations at Blufftop Bistro at Les Bourgeois Vineyards, and this was my first time eating here. Let me tell you what, I was not disappointed! The food was fantastic! My wife and I got married here 5 years ago and we had never actually tried the Bistro, we just loved the view and setting (and my wife LOVES wine). After this trip, we will most certainly be back again. I'm not sure if the menu was different than their usual, due to it being Valentines Day, but I got a Cajun pesto pasta, and my wife got the filet. The pasta was amazing. It had just the right amount of spice, perfectly cooked pasta, and a veggie mix covered in creamy dreamy pesto sauce. I ordered mine with chicken, which of course makes it better, but I don't think there's a wrong way to try this dish! My wife likes her steaks cooked well done, and a lot of times, this can be a difficult task for some kitchens to accomplish with grace. Not here. This place nailed it! It was a delicious, fall apart tender, melt in your mouth, full of flavor - well done steak! Kudos to the chef! Dilly, dilly!
We will be back!
IT has been a favorite place for us to go, sits on a bluff looking over the Missouri River Good energy. They do offer gluten free options and they offer a gluten free desert cake that's just great
Great time for Valentine’s Day. Was worried that it was going to be crowded, but it wasn’t at all. Definitely a good place to go for dinner or any occasion.
It's by far one of my favorite places to be. I'm not from the area so when I find myself close by I have to stop.
We stumbled on this amazing restaurant while driving to St Louis. It was so good that we stopped on the way back again! Food and wine were both amazing!
The food was excellent as was the service. Wife and I were celebrating out anniversary. The views from the bluff are amazing. Only issue was they had a light that was flickering all the time almost like a strobe. We noticed other people moving because of it. Not sure what that was caused by. They had a reception in the down stairs that the music was a little loud but with all of that the food and service more than made up for it. We will be going back.
Always good food and service
Atmosphere was excellent along with the restaurant. The wine selection would meet anyone's taste. My fiance and I were celebrating our 6 month anniversary, and couldn't have picked a better restaurant
Decent food and priced fairly. Our server was a real nice kid but it was obvious he was new and the attention we got was a little substandard, but I am sure he will learn. Nice view of the river.
Excellent views of the sunset! The menu isn't huge, but the food is good. This restaurant is a good add to OpenTable.
Great place for food, wedding and social gatherings.
The host who greeted us* our waiter, Darkius, were both very good & very personable. My husband enjoyed his Cuban sandwich & I enjoyed the catfish poor boy. Plus, I really like their bloody Mary.
Sister visiting from CA a few days
No better place to show off beautiful Mid-Mo.
We love the Bistro. It’s consistently amazing. The chef comes up with very creative recipes that are always delicious
Sunday evening was a good time to visit, since the restaurant wasn't full and we had excellent service. They were out a few food items that we chose, which is a disappointment. Our second choices were excellent, however. The view is lovely.
The waiter had no idea what was being served as the vegetable.
Service was dismal at best
The pork chop was more bone than meat
The ribeye was more fat than meat.
Too loud with the wedding upstairs
Bartender- totally lousy. I would fire that guy.
We will not return.
We enjoyed the food and location very much. The hummus was excellent! Will look forward to going again on our next trip there.
Thank you for your hospitality and great service. Five “forever friends” recently met for lunch at your bistro...Rocheport is a great stopping point between STL and KC. Your crew was very accommodating...we were not rushed to end our visit or encouraged to leave. No doubt...we will be back❣️
We love the setting and had a great view. The food was good, service was attentive and responsive.
Great location for most occasions. Reservation was prompt. Waitress was a gem.
Food and service were excellent. Very noisy but we understand there was a birthday celebration going on and it was a busy Saturday.
This place is beautifully crafted and cozy nestled up in the Missouri river bluffs. My daughter loved every momentof her birthday luncheon with our family, and it was a great prelude to the Crush Fest events!
It was an experience...unfortunately, not a good one. Our table of 6 started with the Antipasto platter...we all enjoyed this immensely. Going from there, it was a disaster. Two ladies ordered the portabella mushroom sandwich served with polenta cakes. The mushrooms were so soaked with balsamic reduction, that they were virtually inedible and left almost untouched as were the polenta cakes. Two of our men ordered the Cuban sandwich, and they did enjoy these. Another ordered the bacon burger cooked medium. Not only did it come well done, the bun was burnt...really burnt. A bun this black should never have left the kitchen. This was pointed out to our waitress and she requested another bun. It took over 10 minutes for the bun to be brought to our table. By then the burger was cold, and it too was a disappointing meal. I order the quiche (Ham and Swiss with yellow and red peppers). It was palatable but didn't have much taste/flavor. You have created a casual atmosphere with a great view, but the menu reflects a more upscale lunch palate. We were totally disappointed. With our bill coming to over $150 (gratuity for 6 included), we left feeling we spent a lot for a less than good experience. It seemed that the servers were on top of things, but the kitchen was either understaffed, or had no concept of time for getting food to a table. Overall, we were there over an hour and a half. Oops...forgot the seafood gumbo...FABULOUS!!
Aside from some slow service (think they were breaking in a new waiter), the food and ambiance -and the wine! - were very good!
Seemed like they were a bit under staffed. Our waiter was very polite and honest. I felt a delay between drink orders although place was about 20% full. Wasn't sure what staff was doing. Do not think it was waiters fault. Was interesting that I had only 1 available time to make reservation through "open table" yet people seemed to be walking in with no reservation and were seated quickly. Just too many tables (understaffed). A bit disappointed for our one night in Rocheport.
Menu is fresh and flavorful! Service was quiet and efficient. Enjoyed by vegetarians, gluten free diners and our birthday guests.
Reserved a table for a group of 8 outside overlooking the river for my daughter's 21st birthday. It was raining when we arrived so we had to move inside, but all was fine because the restaurant area is nicely decorated with wood beams and has large windows on the river side. Food was good, esp. the Chicken & French toast and breakfast tacos. We ordered the Antipasto Plate as an appetizer which was a good variety of meats & cheeses & pickled veggies, but a bit hard to share - cutting in smaller pieces. Thankfully we had the appetizer because it did take a long time for food to come out. Unfortunately the waitress didn't put in the order for my husband's burger so he had to wait even longer. She was very apologetic and took the burger off our bill. Service was really good at atmosphere was very nice.
Service is weak at best. Food also inferior. Such a nice location with great potential. Too bad.
We were seated promptly with our reservation and treated great throughout the visit. We sat outside and enjoyed the view. The inside was beautiful with lots of windows to enjoy the view, but we love sitting outside. Great food, laid back atmosphere and good service. We will certainly return.
So glad that Les Bourgeois Blufftop Bistro has withstood the test of time. The menu changes enough to keep it interesting and it's always excellent (we had the seafood bianco and cajun chicken pasta - loved both). Good choice of beer taps and the solay was a good choice for a dry white wine. Plan to make it a once a month treat.
The food was average with $$ prices. We got a bread appetizer that had good little spreads, but the bread was just plain soft white bread. The entrees we got were unremarkable.
The wine was kinda pricey, too. The service was stressed- not enough servers for the evening makes stress noticeable.
The view however is spectacular, sunset is beautiful.
The Bistro is a nice place. Service was slow both in getting drinks and getting food. It also seemed that the Kitchen was slow. It took us over 2 hours to get food and eat. We go to the Bistro once a year because we are not from the area. It seems that this is the way it always is. The Winery and the restaurant are very nice, but the Bistro needs to operate more efficiently.
