A San Francisco brasserie & gathering place, at ONE Yerba Buena Lane, the intersection of downtown’s cultural, shopping and business corridors. An urban neighborhood restaurant, offering a lively dining experience, for anytime bites or drinks; a meal with friends, business associates or family; or picking up to enjoy at home.
Bluestem Brasserie features a familiar brasserie menu of fresh, simply composed dishes; distinct cocktails; a satisfying wine list with 12 on tap, sourced directly from Napa and Sonoma's finest producers - offered at a great value.
Named after the indigenous North American grass favored by cattle, Bluestem will showcase sustainably produced beef from highly regarded purveyors with an emphasis on whole-animal utilization. A theme of terroir extends from the menu of house-made items to the carefully crafted wine list.

This was an unexpected last minute great find! Food was outstanding, service was very good. The beet salad on toasted in duck fat oats was one of my most outstanding menu items in life. Such an unusual combo that was a taste sensation. Highly recommend this place.

We had a wonderful experience dining at Bluestem. The food, service and table were great and I would recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for a delicious brunch/ lunch. We were there on a Saturday afternoon and it was not crowded which was really nice - the table had a great view of all of the weekend action happening on Market St.

Fabulous food, very friendly service members and so quiet, you can actually hear the other person talk.

Lunch was a little pricey but it was a generous portion so no real complaints. The waiter likely stopped by our table a few too many times but he was genuine enough in his desire to ensure we were OK

The service was very, very slow and not the most professional. Thankfully we were not in a hurry or would have left. The food was ok but overpriced for some items for what you received and disportionate for others. Won't go back. So many great places nearby, live and learn...

The food is consistently delicious with creative and fresh presentations of comfort food alongside more sophisticated offerings. Nice selection of vegetarian dishes as well! Service is wonderful and the setting - tables well spaced - is perfect for a business lunch or private conversation.

The bartender had a terrible attitude but we had a wonderful server. The food was average.

Lots of families with small children in the restaurant, likely from the attached Marriott. Wasn't an issue but changed the ambiance.

Had a really good experience at Bluestem Brasserie. I ordered the farmers market vegetables and they were amazing! Veggies never tasted so good! It was a bowl with curried potatoes and lentils on the bottom, carrot, cabbage, and cauliflower. So yummy!

I think I’d return for lunch next time.

Why this place doesn't have a line going around the block, I just can not understand. The menu is simple, yet creative, and expertly prepared. The brunch cocktails are exquisite. The service is some of the best I have experienced in San Francisco (and that's saying a LOT!) I am feeling selfish and want Bluestem to remain my little secret for as long as possible. Love it!

Loved everything about it. Adam, the host, just the best. Jenna, the bartender, so genuinely caring. We liked it so much we bought gift certificates for our SF friends.

Third year I've gone back and it's always been very enjoyable. This past time had one of the best servers I've ever experienced, and them bringing out cookies for dessert as a thank you for returning was a great surprise. My only quibble would be the noise level, but it's not something that ruined my experience or anything. I'll be back!

Rude hosts - wouldn't seat us despite the fact we were on time, the entire party was there and tables were available. I'd been a regular until this experience. I will not be returning.

Food was REALLY SALTY. mushroom soup was almost inedible. I stopped eating it 1/4 of the way through. Then had the pork chop. It had a good smoky flavor but was also salty and greasy. Bartender was a jerk. Made terrible recommendations and copped an attitude when I didn’t like them. Not great.

Good food. Hotel like ambience that does not reflect the casual dining menu. Have some hit and miss drinks on the cocktail menu. Americana that does fine but doesn’t excel.

The service was extremely slow, wrong orders arrived, etc, but sometimes that just happens. Less forgivable part is that the entrees (steak frites and grilled fish and veg sides) arrived room temp to cool. $200 for 2, not a great service experience and a bad food experience.

Our meals were absolutely delicious and delightfully flavored with some great surprises. The maitred’ recommended the strawberry cake for our birthday dessert. It was heavenly. Finally our server was one of the best I have ever encountered. She was sensitive to preferences and allergies and made sure everything was just right. I was so pleased as I had never eaten at the restaurant and it was a truly memorable experience. Hoorah!

The pork chop entree was delicious. The pasta entree was very mediocre, quite tasteless. Portions are adequate, but not for hungry eaters. Ironically, dessert was very good, but much more generous of a proportion than the entrees. Overall impression: we will not rush back!!!

Food was solid, but not special. We asked for bread and were told that we could purchase the bread appetizer; that was a complete turn off. We were already ordering appetizers and drinks. We wanted something to nosh on while we drank. With so many choices in SF for food, I would not go back here.

Yet another satisfactory meal at Bluestem! I ordered the duck confirm salad, almost always, and suggested my friend order the lamb leg sandwich which looked great. Service was quick!
