We decided to grab brunch at Bluestem after our planned visit to the Candytopia exhibit. We were not disappointed! The location is great, the restaurant is gorgeous and the staff were all so kind and welcoming.
The menu had a great selection of brunch items, stater options included everything from savory to sweet, I highly recommend the cinnamon roll, it was delicious!! I should've ordered one to take home!
For our main meal we ordered the short rib crepinette, it was fabulous! The short rib was tender and so flavorful, it was placed on top of sticky/crunchy sushi rice and topped with a fried egg and fresh chimichurri sauce... DELICIOUS!!

Ambiance, service, food, location, were all wonderful, we will definitely be back!

We had to change our brunch party headcount upon arrival, but they were so gracious and also gave us a few extra cocktails (mulled wine and one for the birthday girl!). They also waived the extra fee that comes with serving cake from another bakery - we had so much fun we stayed longer (and they were nice about that too!!). Great food (esp Deviled Eggs, Duck Confit Salad, Avocado Toast) and great ambience all around!!

Simple interesting dishes. Busy part of town and at christmas time had us sitting next to couple with two small children. I guess it's to be expected since it was a 5pm dinner reservation and I noticed the restaurant has mostly 4 top tables. All in all turned out fine. I think that liter of wine had a lot to do with it.

Have enjoyed this restaurant in the past - the food is good and so is the atmosphere. Two reasons I gave for my 3 stars - (1) each time we go the service gets worse which is really disappointing as the restaurant is fairly pricey, and (2) the hostess was more focused on her personal device than actually caring about customers.

We would recommend if - you are less interested in good service and a hostess that acts like she works there. Otherwise, find another restaurant.

For the price the hamburger was small, but tasty. It’s worth about $10.95. The salad, in lieu of fries, had an unappealing house dressing for me. It was adequate in amount, but not generous. The soup mushroom bacon was excellent. I love this restaurant. I’ve been twice, and I will be back, but the value for money is, in comparison to what is around within walking distance, poor. Service and ambience were well above average.

It was my husband birthday celebration.
We really enjoyed cozy and friendly atmosphere of the restaurant.
Service was good, friendly, quick and pleasant.
Food was good as well.
I loved their fresh baked focaccia bred with mozzarella cheese! My soup and salad were equally good. My husband enjoyed his gloom delicious wine. He liked his meal as well.
After all it was nice and memorable experience!

Our waiter was very nice, but the food came out in the wrong order. Server brought the sides for the main course, and then the waiter returned asking if we'd had our soup and salad yet (we hadn't). When the main course came (stuffed delicata squash) the squash was extremely undercooked and inedible. The food that was cooked properly was good, but the inedible squash was pretty egregious. When the waiter brought our check, it was the wrong check. He was very nice about it, but overall, I wouldn't go back there again.

We went to Bluestem for Thanksgiving and while the service was good, the food was absolutely terrible. The only saving grace was the butternut squash soup. But for the $75 a person price tag, some soup is really not enough. Very disappointed, we will not be coming back.

Thanksgiving dinner. Fairly disappointing. Waited 25 minutes past reservation time. Awkward waiting space, no drinks offered to kill time. Could tell wait staff was trying but overwhelmed. Very friendly when at table but very few visits. Soup had great flavor but was served like warm at best. Ordered the prime rib which no temperature was asked and it was served blue, along with over cooked braised short rib. Butternut squash was the most interesting dish I’ve had in years. Still don’t know what to think of it. Served Hawaiian rolls that were hard like rocks. Hard to imagine we spent over $300 on that dinner for two with 1 drink and 1 bottle of wine.

Small, overpriced portions. Duck entree is $43, nothing but duck, not even a potato garnish.
$22 for half dozen oysters.
Butternut squash soup was tepid, and not even a full cup, $11.
Did not feel like the wait staff was very informed or engaging. Limited selection of French wines for a “brasserie”.

Outstanding! If you order the burger, which is exceptional, and don’t include the avocado and egg what’s the point? Not sure why they’re not standard. Like why are there Jeeps offered that are not 4x4 or a mustang with a 4 cylinder.... really great location and service. Open Table reservation didn’t go through correctly but the host took care of us quickly in a crowded situation. Much appreciated service.

Food took forever. One person was given a chicken sandwich instead of chicory salad. Another person’s meal was forgotten completely. All burgers were rare, even the lamb burger for the pregnant party member who asked for well done. So rare that it looked like raw meat in the center. We will never be coming here again for a business lunch

Every time I come here, I feel more and more like they think I'm a 'regular' to the restaurant... and every time I come here, the service just gets better and better. From the person seating us, to our servers, to the floor managers, everyone is so nice and personable.
We were lucky to have Savannah as our server. I hate to pick favorites.. but she is my new favorite. I can't enough nice things about her.
The floor supervisor was also so very fun and friendly... telling us about our food selections and especially the dessert choice.. she was great!
I've made this my short-list choice for business lunches and work lunches.

The meal started out well, but the steak I ordered (NY strip on the bone) was extremely poor even though it was over $50. It was not cooked well (I asked for medium rare, but it was well done on the outsides with a little pink on the middle), and was very dry and without flavor. The rest of the food was good but not great.

Food was nothing to rave about. Cornbread was very plain. Burger was over cooked however fries very good. The pasta of the day was sticky and over cooked. Waiter would stop to talk to us over the railing while holding someone else’s meal instead of coming around to our table. Place was a disappointment and not a place I would recommend or return to.
