Service was extremely slow to get entrees out. Took almost an hour.

Bluestem is consistently good, and the atmosphere and menu are great for an upscale meal at lunch or dinner. Love the modern yet cozy atmosphere. Fantastic location. Staff has always been very professional, and at last visit they were savvy in recognizing and acknowledging my many reservations over time - well done and thanks for the attention.

Great location and this is one of the few places that takes Sunday brunch reservations! Fair prices, nice menu. The service was a little slow and the coffee was not good.Otherwise, I would recommend this restaurant for Brunch especially if you are near Union Square.

My wife and I were in SF for Business and she had a night off so we went out for dinner. It took almost an hour to have the food arrive at the table and the chicken was cold and NOT GOOD! We told the waitress and she said sorry and offered a Dessert which since we are on a no carb diet didn’t work for us. I suggested maybe a round of drinks or take the chicken off the bill. She talked to the manager and then never came back but had him bring the bill back and had done nothing for us. We spent $160 basically for 1 meal and 4 drinks. Would stay away from this place!!!

Recommended by the hotel concierge I was initially wary as it is attached to another hotel...not too worry. Great modern ambiance, solid menu & service, close to BART, easy for Uber...stands out in a crowded SF restaurant scene. Recommended...

Been to this restaurant many times since I park at Four Seasons. The service and food are consistently above average. Usually we just walk in, bit this time I was entertaining a friend from Vancouver. She had the duck confit salad and enjoyed all of it!

Overall great experience, the food was delicious. The menu was limited, it could have used more vegetarian options other than salads. When I checked the menu on- line the night before I saw a great looking vegetarian sandwich and entree option, but it wasn't offered the next day for lunch. Great service, fun area.

We were there for dinner after an all day client event. The menu was limited on options. I ordered steak and it was ok. It came with fries only, no vegetables. I upgraded to the truffle fries and they were the worst I've ever had. They tasted like cold leftover fries that had powered parmesan dumped on them. One of my colleague tried a specialty drink and it was bitter and not well done.

Overall good experience for our party of seven. Not an extensive menu, so some in our party opted for multiple appetizers/sides instead of an entree. The deviled eggs were a big hit, as well as the cheese and charcuterie platter. Oysters were outstanding. Drinks were good as well, and the wine list was reasonably priced. Only downside was service, which I found to be rather indifferent. We had to flag our waiter down a couple of times during the meal, and they seemed to have no clue who ordered what when the food was served.

The food was great, however they mistakenly gave us food that was meant for the next table who had a food allergy. Sort of unusual to start eating then have them insist on taking the plate and make you wait again. While I appreciate they want you to experience the chefs ideal plate, whatever adjustments made for the food allergy was still fantastic (kudos to the kitchen staff as I could not tell the difference) I feel like tossing the plate was a terrible waste.

Hosted a lunch business meeting during a convention.

Perhaps I ordered the wrong dish :
$14 Smoked Trout Tartine
- smoked trout mousse, radish, snap peas served open face on a very TOUGH , hard , small slice of toasted sourdough bread.

I used a steak knife to cut into bite size pieces but the bread was unbelievable tough it was difficult to cut. It also scraped the roof of my mouth. The crust was inedible. The mousse itself was flavorless and could use more seasoning.

For $14 it's ala carte, it was another 5-6 $ to add fries.

My peers duck confit looked great... so maybe I ordered wrong, but such a simple dish shouldn't be that way off...

Very busy and noisy at lunch. Service was fine but long wait of 45-50 minutes for food. Quality of food was good but not outstanding. Pricing was about the same as other restaurants in downtown district.

Parking around the area is atrocious. I missed my 630 reservation and got in at 710. Thankfully, the food is worth making the trek out for. I had steak and fries. You can't go wrong there.

First, I did not enjoy the "clubby" music. That is not what I expect from a place that calls itself a brasserie. It might appeal to the 20 somethings, but the restaurant was mainly filled with people in their 40s and up.
Some of the dishes were good, such as the truffle parmesan fries, the trout tartare, and the shrimp. The Little gem "caesar" salad's dressing was very bland. The deviled eggs were OK but a bit boring, and the carrot cake was all about size (huge), and not so much about flavor. The waitstaff was nice, but they knew we had to leave for a theatre performance and the desserts took forever to show up.

Sunday brunch with an out-of-town colleague was excellent. Duck confit over field greens with a fried duck egg on top (egg underdone, sad to say, with some clear white a turnoff). Generous serving, good duck and fresh salad. Companion had a burger he liked, with good-looking fries. Overall a very pleasant experience. NOTE to museum-goers: a great place on a Sunday if you are at SFMOMA, as it was uncrowned and a better grub for money value.

We had a really great time here this past weekend with a group of 7 girls for a bachelorette. My friend (the bride to be) loved it so much that she want to bring her fiance at some point. She was impressed with the service as well as the food (she never had truffle fries and was just floored). There's plenty of room for groups and they really made it very special for her (sent us lemon drops!). The biggest surprise was the table near us sent us a bottle to celebrate her day and that little act of kindness really made the bride to be feel extremely blessed... she almost cried. It's very much appreciated and it was more than anything I could've planned for. Thank you wonderful team at Bluestem and thank you, wonderful family at the restaurant for making her night start out amazing. There's few nights I could remember that was magical and this one certainly was.

Small but creative menu. We had a party of 6 and we were able to get a table with relatively short notice on a Friday evening. Everyone was very happy with their selection. One vegetarian entry with squash and quinoa was exceptionally good. Waiter was attentive and very personable. Over, I give this a very good rating. Would go there again.

The Hostess was not very pleasant. Tried to walk in without a reservation, but they said it was full unless we waited 45 min. I pulled out my phone and found an open table that was in 5. I booked it and for some reason this did not make the hostess happy. She then let two walk ins sit down before us (thought there was a 45 min wait).

Once we were seated the waitress was fantastic. She was full of recommendations and charm.

The group I was with all agreed that the food was average at best, but is priced like a fine dinning establishment. Don't think any of us will go back, which is a shame because we are always looking for place to take clients staying at the hotel.
