    Service was slow, no sense of urgency in serving and although would have loved dessert, it took too long to get served, so gave up! Food was good but not outstanding for the price

    This it the third time that I have dined at the Blue Spoon and every time my experience is upgraded! The decor is subtly splendid with a lovely blue which vibrates at just the right frequency for one to relax and enjoy the ambience and food. As they are currently re-designing their restaurant area, where you have a direct view into their kitchen, which is full of energy, orderly and mesmerisingly creative, we were seated in the bar area with an evening moody view onto Prinsengracht. No complaints there! The menu has also benefitted by some delicious additions in their 'to share' section, which are vegan friendly but not non-vegan scary! The staff are welcoming, fun and efficient. I can't wait to see their re-designed restaurant area!

    The ambiance is beautiful and we liked the Dutch elements. The waiter was nice, but unfortunately due the chevice being spicy the wine did not complement the dish. The meat was a little overcooked and the espresso was like warm. The tartar was very nice and the octopus was made to perfection. We all enjoyed the old Amsterdam cheesecake and our cocktails very much and would definitely recommend going to the Blue spoon for those.

    Good fresh pea soup. Great octopus. Many people ordered the halibut which was cooked perfectly. Very avant- guarde decor. Young staff working hard to please. Limited wines by the glass but good varietals

    Food was wonderful, music was ideal level- not too loud so you can speak normally, not too quiet that it's practically nonexistent. Atmosphere was wonderful and so was design. I would recommend.

    Very warm welcoming hostess and waiter. However, the service was disinterested and confused. I don’t know if they didn’t have proper distribution of tables and responsibilities thinking someone else was taking care of the customers or what could have been the reason. I was not in a hurry but I do think 30 minutes to get my drink was excessive and more than 20 minutes to walk my soup from the open kitchen to my table was a bit much. I could see my empty bowl the entire time. I would suggest a little more orientation and specific roles for the staff to improve the service which was the only downside.

    I expected more from this restaurant. Sure, they have delicious items on the menu, like gazpacho or fish. But also very disappointing items, like the peasoup which has no taste, seemed that no stock was used at all. Also a portion fries as side dish is very expensive with 11 euro, does not taste nice and is not fried properly. Spanish chef means spanish fries? Can be improved.

    This is an awesome designer restaurant with absolutely fabulous cuisine, and open plan kitchen that you can overlook and watch the chefs prepare the food. The staff are friendly, super funny and very attentive, service is simply impeccable

    This was our favorite place we ate at on our trip to Amsterdam! We had plans fall through on a night while we were there and even went back a second time with more friends, and it was just as good! The food here is incredible! It is also very beautiful and will not break the bank. I HIGHLY recommend the halibut! Don't miss out; definitely check this out while in Amsterdam!

    We made a reservation bluespoon based on the positive reviews. We arrived at 7 pm and the place was pretty empty. It’s a beautiful venue with lovely decor. My sister in law and I both ordered the bimi salad. Both salads had something in them that felt like you were chewing dirt/sand particles with every bite. We had to send them back and did not request a replacement. We asked the waitress if this texture was intentional and she said no. So, we’re not sure why we were chewing sand with our salad unless the spinach leaves weren’t washed appropriately. My husband’s fillet was very good and my brother’s halibut was also cooked very nicely. Overall, it’s a beautiful place with mediocre food.

    I was not told when I made the booking that the restaurant was actually closed on Sundays so I would actually be eating in the bar/lobby area of the hotel. The service was lackluster and the food was fine but overpriced especially for not being in the actual restaurant. A disappointment/

    We went there for the birthday of my fiancé, and before going there, I wrote a note about this here at open table. When we arrived, I learned that they’d made a little cake with a candle on it to be served after dinner without us needing to order anything. This was super considerate and nice of them. I was a little bit critical about the service because I saw some comments about how slow the service was, however, that was definitely not our experience. We were satisfied with the quality of the service. And everybody had a smile on their faces all the time, which made our evening even more amiable. Kale salad and codfish were good. If you’re looking for a place that is both nice and casual in a sense, with nice ambience and optimal voice level so that you can hear one other quite easily, then you can consider going to Bluespoon. ¡Muchas gracias!

    Had to flag the waiter down after sitting for 10 minutes in a largely empty dining room. Cocktails were ordered but, after another wait of 35 minutes, never delivered. We made a wise decision to leave at that point. You’d be wiser to never go.

    While the menu is short, the food impressed. I had the smoked eel bruschetta - far more delicate and complex than I expected - and the monkfish, which was delicious. I added a side salad to get my greens, and finished with the apple crumble. Everything was delicious and plated beautifully.

    Outstanding cocktails. Beautiful and exciting starters. Delicious dessert. But our main courses were a disaster. A supposed rack of lamb consisting of two cutlets, covered with a thick brown goo. A poor quality tenderloin steak that contained two large pieces of sinew, rest of steak was just not tender. We were not charged for the steak. Replacement offered but that would just mean each of us would be eating alone. Shame, about the main courses, as staff lovely, and cocktails and starters really very special.

    Sehr schönes Ambiente mit komplett offener Küche, leider an diesem Abend etwas kalt im Raum. Aufmerksamer Service. Speisen sehr gut allerdings im Sinne von Preis/Leistung recht kleine Portionen. Alle Gerichte mit frischen Zutaten, jedoch schwach gewürzt.
