As the premier modern restaurant in the Pearl District, Bluehour opened its doors in 2000, with what Gourmet Magazine describes as, "the most sophisticated, contemporary food in town." Guests choose between the elegant dining room or the casual café and bar.
Surprising and delicious describes the Modern Northwest cuisine we create in the Bluehour kitchen each night. The menu is printed daily, so come in and enjoy Chef David Ezelle's seasonally inspired menu.

Above and beyond
Food was delicious. Food took forever to arrive even through the restaurant was empty. We will come back.
Service was not what one would expect at a restaurant of this level. Perhaps just an off night, but disappointing. Had to ask to get server to take order, long wait for food, and forgotten drink orders.
Our evening was perfect! Thank you all for making sure we had the best experience!
Loved the place and atmosphere, great service. Food was good, however not excellent, didn’t meet my expectations. Lamb tasted pretty good, but was not trimmed well. Beet salad was ok, everyone at the table who ordered soup, said it’s was excellent. Desserts were very good. Would not recommend house red wine, however cab blend was very good and balanced.
We come about six times a year. It's always a memorable experience.
My server Jeff had great menu recommendations and was super friendly. Even jogged my memory about the “real” best donut place in Portland since Voodoo Donuts is really just for tourists. I won’t spoil the secret, though.
This place is amazing, I wouldn’t change a thing, one of the best date nights we have ever been on. We will go back, everything from the awesome service, music and the way we felt so special made for a great night. We loved it so much that we stayed for hours and they made us feel so good. If you are looking to have a special intimate night and have your gal leave feeling on top of the world this is the place.
Pretty spectacular experience. We will return.
Superb food and service. Kind attention to special requests. Great vibe. Perfection.
Very nice ambiance. Good trading quality food. Nice wine list. OK service. Worthed the money.
This was quite a disappointment. I had read that Bluehour was one of the best restaurants in the Pearl, and being a foodie, I had high expectations. We ate here for NYE, so it was a special occasion. The prix fixe menu looked promising, the quality of the food was excellent, and the presentation was lovely. However, the flavor was quite underwhelming. The salad, greens and a tart dressing, was quite plain and seemed to be lacking spices altogether (I couldn't even taste pepper). For the main course, we both chose the pork chop which, like the salad, seemed to have been prepared without a rub or any kind. Finally, the cost was $85. While this would have been reasonable if the meal had been more thoughtfully or artfully prepared, it also didn't include a pairing, so on top of the mediocre flavor of the meal, the drinks were extra. Needless to say, we won't be returning. :/
Early Nee Year dinner with friends. Food and service was great as always. Price was extremely expensive for the holiday prefixed limited menus plus the 5% service fee to cover employee costs seemed excessive.
Menu was limited for New Years Eve. Very spendy for what we got. It felt like they rushed us through our courses. Steak my husband ordered was really good. Soup and salad first course was great. Gnocchi was sub par. Again, overpriced, with lots of better options in Portland.
Overall very disappointing
Food was worse than one gets at a low end diner. Service inattentive and disappointing.
Service was great. The salt I ate didn’t come with enough of the pork loin I ordered. Same thing with the steak my wife ordered, the pasta my son ordered. It was good salt but I don’t remember asking for an eight ball’s worth on each bite.
Service was fantastic however. Would give them another try based on the quality of their staff.
Service was amazing. They were so accommodating.
Appreciated the window table ... hopefully next time other patrons at adjacent tables aren’t as obnoxious 🤞🏻
Went with friends. Had great food, server was knledgeable, casual but professional. Evening went smoothly and we were all pleased.
4 star, romantic, classy place. Expensive...and felt like it. We loved the experience. Great place to impress friends and apologize to spouses ;)
Wonderful Christmas menu. Accommodated special requests/substitutions. Beautiful trees inside with twinkling lights. Highly recommend!
Lovely to go to a quiet elegant white table cloth restaurant. The Christmas decorations were magnificent .
The decor, food, ambiance / Atmosphere was great. Bread on the table would be a nice touch.
Fabulous food and service! I miss the valet parking! Please bring it back so I can host a party there. I'm comfortable with Uber but some of my friends are not!
Best, and probably the most formal setting in the city. Super service, excellent plating and by far the finest dining experience possible in Portland.
Consistently good food with a modern, elegant ambiance.
What a lovely dining evening! Actually, with holiday season activities going on I've been here a few times in the last month with different friends and each time has been very nice and consistent. Their extra decorating for the holidays was a nice touch. The menu is varied so everyone can find a selection. The quality and portions of the entrees is well priced and nice value. A few of the starters/appetizers are a little more than they should be, but overall was good. Couple things to be mindful of: if you ask for more of the tasty biscuits - you will be charged... refills on soft drinks (I think my companion had an Arnold Palmer) will be charged... there is an automatic percentage 'server' fee added to your bill; which if like me you have 3 or 4 for dinner with drinks, appetizers and desserts can be notable. Overall it was still good and I'll be back again, and I recommend others to go as well.
Excellent, as usual.
Amazing as always....
Great experience! I’ll be back.
Our waiter was rude. Almost stuck up like he didn’t think younger people (19-20) could afford to eat here. We came for my friends birthday They knew we were celebrating and didn’t give us a dessert or anything special for birthday yet as we were leaving they brought it out to someone else.... I would let the dessert thing slide but the manner of our waiter was impolite.
The food was good, however only two vegetarian options on the whole menu.
Always LOVE blue Hour. It’s our families go-to for celebrations.
We were there Friday night to celebrate a birthday -- and it was wonderful! Every part of the meal was delicious and our waitress was phenomenal. The setting felt spacious yet intimate. Live jazz started just as we ordered dessert. What a wonderful evening!!
Lovely dinning experience, great food, great service and quiet !
The restaurant was beautifully decorated for the holiday season. The food and drinks were delicious and while a nice restaurant, it did not feel pretentious. I will be going back again!
This Portland staple still proves to be as special as ever. Take a minute to check out the menu, turns out this special experience comes at a very reasonable price.
We enjoyed the amuse bouche, but my risotto did not have much flavor. The duck was very good.
Thanksgiving dinner was great. It was a prix fixe menu, but the choices were varied and what we had was delicious. Service was friendly and quick. Overall it was a great meal and a reason to eat there again.
Beautiful ambiance, wonderful service and delicious food. This is the best meal my husband and I have had here in PDX bar none! We will be returning many many times! Whoever cooked the turkey on Thanksgiving at Bluehour is invited to my house for Thanksgiving next year!! It was amazing!
