As the premier modern restaurant in the Pearl District, Bluehour opened its doors in 2000, with what Gourmet Magazine describes as, "the most sophisticated, contemporary food in town." Guests choose between the elegant dining room or the casual café and bar.
Surprising and delicious describes the Modern Northwest cuisine we create in the Bluehour kitchen each night. The menu is printed daily, so come in and enjoy Chef David Ezelle's seasonally inspired menu.

Great Vibe and awesome music! Sit at the bar it you can, seats are limited and offers bar food. The dinning table are compact and intimate. But it’s all a part of the jazzy vibe.
It was my girlfriends birthday and we were in town from Texas looking for a nice dinner and night out and Bluehour far exceeded our expectations. Wonderful atmosphere and great live music, great vibes and service.
Absolutely, service was phenomenal, food was delish, and I loved the menu they gave for Portland Dining Month.
Fabulous food and the best service in town. I cannot think of a nicer place to dress up and go out for a fine dinner. Rivals places in San Francisco and NY.
The hostess was very accommodating and kind even though we mistakenly arrived late for our reservation. The waitstaff was also very friendly and helpful. Our main courses did take quite a while to arrive. The food and drinks were delicious.
Bluehour has been a favorite spot for friends for years. I finally made it and was very happy I did. The ambiance is very classy but not pretentious. The service and food was excellent. I can't wait to go back!
Always a great place to eat due to large selection of foods and wines. Our server Jill was fantastic !
It was wonderful! Thank you!
I stopped here for Portland Dining Month. Cauliflower soup with caviar on top was delicious, gnocchi w/pickled mushrooms & these little balls of apple had an amazing contrast of flavors and the dessert was a decadent chocolate, pb, mallow torte. On a whim I decided to try a grasshopper for my beverage and was not disappointed. This has been my favorite beverage all dining month long. The meal also came with a couple extras including a beet candy and a fresh cheese roll. Service was great and the live music in the bar really added to the ambiance. No complaints here. I'm sad that it took me this long to find this place.
Great food, service and atmosphere. It was a Madris Gras celebration brunch with made the experience that much better!
I was able to create an entire timeline of events
12:20 we were seated
12:30 drinks ordered
12:40 waitress comes by and says she lost our order for our drinks then went to get them which took another 5 minutes. We give the food order
12:58 starter served
13:11 entree served.
My entree was lukewarm and the syrup had just been pulled out of the fridge.
The manager was good in removing the entree from my bill but even still the food wasn't anything to rave about.
Fantastic brunch for 4 of us. Outstanding service and the live jazz trio was an extra treat. They had a special Orleans brunch menu which was very good. Any of their Benedicts are incredible. Bluehour is in my top rotation for Portland brunch moving forward!
Absolutely fantastic! Our server, Josh, was equally exceptional
We did the Portland Dining month and I think this was an excellent value. Three courses for $33 and all three were tasty and the even gave us an amuse bouche and some beautiful rolls that wasn't included. And a fancy dining experience and service, definitely a good choice for the Portland Dining month.
Love live jazz? Excellent food? A chance to get dressed up in super casual Portland? This is the place.
I remember the Bluehour fondly from a visit when I lived in Portland 10yrs ago, and so I was excited to revisit the restaurant last week, but I was really disappointed. The service was really slow (It took 40 mins to get a salad and our first appetizer), and the food was okay. The first course of scallops were delicious, but the salad was bland and the $40 NY steak was so tough and disappointing. I was sad to see the food quality and service go down. The atmosphere is still great, but that’s about all I can say of this restaurant.
Our server was absolutely wonderful she thought of every detail. Would have given five stars, however there were two people in training and they were pretty slow which one would expect. Our server balanced all very well.
The Portland Dining Month food was not good. The chicken was completely dry and the gnocchis were all potato, no flavor. The maitre d' laughed loudly when I quietly told him how dry the chicken was. We were 4 people and the server completely ignored our 2 guests re: drinks. How disappointing!
The service was supurb. The waiter even gave us time between the main course and dessert to just sit and talk. The food choices for Portland Dines Out was excellent and each of us was thrilled with our meal.
Thank you so much.
Wonderful food and service. We tried Bluehour for Portland Dining Month and had wonderful food from the special menu as well as their regular menu. We will certainly eat here again.
Good value for money, great ambiance, food is good, has room for further improvement. Service is great.
Bluehour has been killing it lately. Love the ambiance, the service is exceptional from the moment you walk in until the moment you leave and the food is creative and expertly prepared. Our server Josh was so attentive and just the best. Thanks!
A treasure in the Pearl! Elegance in service & food.
Great location, attentive service and delicious, inventive food choices. What more could one ask for?
Wonderful food and exceptional service. Highly recommended.
Great place as usual. Amazing food, great service by Josh again. Noise from adjacent tables was quite high though that night, so I would recommend getting a table on the side or near a window so you can hear each other easily.
The fish was not fresh and the steak was like eating leather. Very disappointing food experience.
Bluehour is first on our "go to" restaurants. Popular with our family
Great service. Felt appreciated and important. Food very expensive but worth it.
We headed to Bluehour to do a little celebrating and spread some of my husband's annual bonus just ahead of dining month in Portland. We hadn't been here in a while and we found the food and service to be as excellent as we remembered. We started with the cheese board and the little cheesy dinner rolls. Next up was cream of cauliflour soup for me, which was so creamy and delicious, and the seared octopus and chickpea salad for my husband. Also nicely prepared and presented.
We had planned to split the wild mushroom risotto as a 2nd course, but it ended up coming along with our entrees. We were seated at a table for two that didn't really accommodate that much food all at once without feeling really cramped. But the food, duck breast and roased pork loin, was excellent so no real complaints. Accompaniments were really well thought out. Dessert was so-so for me (honey ginger cake) and really excellent for my husband (chocolate pecan pie). All in all it was a nice evening and we will definitely head back to Bluehour again, but maybe next time for happy hour in the bar where the mussels and pomme frittes are on the menu (wasn't an option in the main dining room).
This was a wonderful, classy, dining experience, probably the best we've had in Portland. Not only was the food delicious, but the plate appeal was fantastic with great attention to detail. Wines were good too. We enjoyed the "amuses", little tasting extras provided by the chef. Service was first class, efficient and solicitous, without being overbearing. We were asked if we had any time constraints and when we said we were heading to a concert, they made sure our meal was completed on time. At the early hour we ate, the noise level was low, though when the adjacent table filled (loud voices!) conversation became more difficult. Naturally, prices were not rock bottom but by no means outrageous for this quality. Overall it was excellent and we intend to be back.
The cauliflower soup is outstanding! The New York Strip was a bit tough, but well seasoned, as were the sides. The Spanish Manhattan was smooth and yummy!
The staff at Blue Hour was terrifically attentive. The dining room was elegant without being pretentious. The food from the kitchen was masterfully prepared. Thank you Blue Hour for a great evening.
We had a lovely birthday dinner for my daughter. Everyone was happy with their entrees and the service was wonderful.
Beautiful interior and great service. We arrived early and were seated right away. Flavors were exciting and delicious, although the risotto was slightly undercooked and the steak was slightly tough. Overall great experience!
Great location, excellent service, nice wine selection and delicious dinner.
We had a great table by a window. Our server was thoughtful & attentive. The food was delicious as always. All in all a perfect evening.
Service, food and atmosphere all good. Place is very clean and staff polite and attentive. Prices vs portion seemed a little off compared to everything else in Portland.
Love their musical band, very fun and good variety.
The food was excellent I was hoping for a few more choices though. I really appreciate having a variety of non alcoholic beverages that are not sugary.
