Elegant space with beautiful view of courtyard & fire pit. Excellent food, presentation & service. Enjoy trying the dinner specials. Quiet and cozy. Will be back soon.
Audrey was such a great server, they brought the food out piping hot and quick. I ordered soo much food and a cocktail and was surprised by the price being so affordable despite it being a fine dining experience. Audrey made great substitutions and recommendations I was very pleased. Try the Lobster Scargot forsure, chowder is heavenly, and the Lobster Scampi pasta is pretty good. I ordered a “hot toddy”
Cocktail because it was 27 degrees outside, I don’t think it’s in the menu but just ask for it. Very good and warm and comforting.
The lobster bisque barely had any lobster in it. $13 for a bowl of nothing. Where’s the meat? My fiancée and I both got it and were disappointed. The lobster gnocchi mac and cheese was also lacking lobster.
Gorgeous spot. Apps were wonderful. Piano player was amazing. We will return for snacks & drinks
great venue, service was great. My stuffed haddock was luke warm and had room temp crab stuffing...gotta fix that Blue Fin! Oysters (Winterpoint) were AWESOME. Some of the best oysters in the world right here in Maine.
Value is low because prices are very high...my stuffed haddock was $30+...dont serve a luke warm/room temp meal at that price.
Early Valentines dinner
This is a boutique restaurant inside a very nice hotel (Portland Harbor Hotel). It has a very small seating area just off the main lobby that is cozy with a nice view of the beautifual courtyard.
While the menu is limited, the food is outstanding and the presentation is done very well. Be aware that the soup comes in a vessel that is plenty sufficiecnt for two people. We had the clam chowder and it was outstanding. The lobster rol was also very good.
One of our favorite hidden gems in Portland. Super cozy in the winter by the fire and great patio in the summer. Food is excellent. Only complaint is the beer selection - it's weak.
Fantastic service, food and wine list. A must do when in Portland
Food was terrible, menu was limited. No specials and no bread.
Upscale restaurant located within a hotel.
Unfortunately the food was so-so and the restrooms are quite a hike and up stairs which would be difficult to access for anyone in a wheelchair or has difficulty with chairs!
Great food and service. Also, COVID safety protocols in place, good distance between tables. A great experience.
Really enjoyed the menu choices and overall ambience. It's a beautiful restaurant in what appears to be a quite lovely hotel.
Excellent experience on New Year's Eve. I look forward to going back for the whole menu.
They run out of one of the main dishes at 7 pm?!!!
New Year’s Eve prefixe menu. Good food and drinks, service was ok
Excellent food
Great service
Christmas Dinner was lovely! Tremendous service and excellent food.
Delicious meal, excellent service. We will definitely go back.
Quiet, intimate dinner experience. I ordered the calamari fries, lobster scampi and a bottle of wine. It was all excellent.
I had a follow-up call to confirm our reservations by a pleasant person. Although I changed the time and guests they were accommodating. Our food was very good especially the lobster pasta, calamari and soup.
Audrey our waitress was wonderful sharing her suggestions. I really liked the saw my notes on open table regarding " limited salt" on my food. Bravo.
Audrey treated like VIPs. Such a great spot for a really nice dinner.
Great experience all around. Keep up the good work!!
We loved it, very good food and service!
DO NOT GO HERE. Complete unprofessional and terrible. My girlfriend and I went to this restaurant, strictly because we got into town late and everything else was booked. Service was completely slow and it started raining while we were outside. We went inside to avoid the rain and went to the bar to pay our bill, our waitress gave us our bill and I paid her and tipped. I then got multiple Threatening calls from the “manager” Jonathan threatening legal action and saying we charged our bill to a fake
Room. I had the charge from the company on my Credit card after I chased my waitress down. He was a completely inappropriate and unprofessional fool. This is not a place to Eat or waste your time. There are tons of places to go In Portland and this should absolutely be last on your list. Complexly disrespectful and
Disgusting
Our waitress was excellent and the courtyard was wonderful. Had a heater right by our table Saturday night. Very comfortable.
The food and service were top notch but what makes BlueFin stand out is the comfortable, tasteful and luxurious atmosphere.
The meal was excellent and our server, Rachel, was lovely. We were disappointed by the lack of raw bar options, but in the world of COVID this makes sense. Hopefully they’ll have oysters next time (and I’ll definitely be back)
Service was nice however when you come to Maine you expect to have lobster. They had an issue that evening and they had zero lobster dishes that were featured on the menu. Had I known this prior to sitting down I would have cancelled my reservation. No real ambiance. Food was okay but would not return. zero ambiance or nice touches.
My wife and I were disappointed in the quality of the food. Her steak was extra lean and extra chewy. My lobster scampi (most expensive item on the menu) was a small portion, served cool and flavorless.
Sat in the beautiful atrium garden with excellent service and good COVID protocals. I had the filet tips over pasta that was the special of the day. The beef and home made pasta were excellent but the sauce had a bitter taste and there was panko (or something) that gave it a weird texture. My wife had the lobster scampi. Again, the lobster and pasta were great, but the sauce had little flavor and didn't taste like there was any garlic or butter in it. Very disappointed in the food for being a higher priced restaurant. Would not go back.
Filet mignon - small tasteless
NE clam chowder - heavy cream light on stock
Special - seafood stew- not stew at all - something between lobster bisque and seafood newberg- puréed heavy cream and seafood what little there was seemingly run through a food processor
Very overpriced. Food was decent but not great.
The restaurant had ran out of lobster therefore, we did not have dinner. Returned the next night and they refused to seat us; they claim to have been booked for the night.
Fabulous and the best kept secret in Portland for fine food in a private, romantic, QUIET courtyard.
Great outdoor table....good food.....great service
Service was poor, there was a screaming child and food was okay. I was pretty surprised that a young screaming child was allowed into an elegant restaurant. I was highly recommended the restaurant but would not return.
The service was not great and even with an early dinner reservation three menu items were already no longer available. Nice quiet courtyard- but they need to hire more staff. One guy serving everyone- he did his best but it was too much for one person- he even had to sit people and was making drinks. For the price service should have been much better.
I service all over the place (slow service). Food was just okay compared to other restaurants in the area. If I would have known this is a restaurant inside a hotel, I wouldn't have dinned here. The outside setting was nice but, I would never come back here nor recommend it.
Really nice ambience, food was good. Waitress was very friendly
