Bluebird is where brunch and cocktails collide into fireside lunch which glides into happy hour and then swooshes into dinner where the après begins. We had a very disappointing experience at this restaurant. We ordered the Peppercorn Steak Frites and the 20oz Bone-In Ribeye and unfortunately, neither dish met even basic expectations. The Peppercorn Steak was tough, chewy, and absolutely overloaded with large pepper flakes—so much so that I started coughing uncontrollably from the spice. It was unbalanced and unpleasant. My son ordered the Ribeye medium, but it came out borderline raw. For a premium cut of meat, the kitchen should at least be able to get the temperature right. To make matters worse, it took over an hour to get our food, and there was no explanation or apology for the delay. Definitely not worth the price or the wait. We won’t be coming back.

We ordered the prime rib special. The meat was tough. Didn't come out warm The sauce that was supposed to go with it did not arrive andvwe had asked twice to get it. And the popovers were really not warm at all, so very disappointing. The appetizers, the cheese donuts and the asparagus were quite good as was the salad, but the main course was very disappointing. Hopefully this was an off night, but we would not return

20 oz bone in ribeye was probably one of the best steaks I’ve had.

We had an excellent meal at the Bluebird. Went there for a milestone birthday. They made it very special for our friend. The food was excellent, was nicely seasoned and flavourful. I would check out their website first as they had a smaller prime rib special listed on-line with sides included for a nicer lower price. The service was excellent. Waiter, who was from Australia, was very attentive. Overall a great experience.

The steak was absolutely amazing. I think all sides and other main dishes are overpriced and nothing really special, but steaks are brilliant. The service is also really good, enjoyed the vibe of the place and had a great overall experience. Will definitely go back there for a steak on the next Banff visit!
