Great food, except for burger that had a long hair in it. Sent back with waiter, he did not offer replacement or a comp dessert. Did take off the check. Waiter is a frustrated actor and was obvious. Food overall was terrific.
A wonderful find in Columbus Circle. Friendly, helpful staff, delicious, beautiful food, and beautiful space.
The service was lacking. We sat for quite some time with dirty dishes in front of us. Even after we asked to take something home they returned with a to go package and still left the other plates sitting on the table. The sole and schnitzel were good as was the side salad and haricot verts.
Second go - this time with family- and a success again.
We enjoyed dinner but came back for a wonderful brunch.
Very satisfying location with really high quality cuisine and touches of London to savor.
A relief from the bustle and pressure of the shopping crowds just outside the door.
Top notch staff, a wonderful selection of food, and one of the best views in town.
Excellent Service. Deliciously prepared food. Entrees timed correctly (not on top of each other). Beautiful uplifting decor. Can't wait to go back!!
Perfect place for any occasion. Lovely decor, good food and well trained staff.
Great New Year’s Eve venue
Nice ambience, especially if you have a window table. Food was better than expected given the prior reviews but nothing special.
Quality meals properly prepared and presented. A great addition to the Time Warner location. Would gladly return.
I had wait awhile for my table but when I got there the service was amazing. Everyone was kind and helpful (even though it was Christmas Day) the food was very tasty and enough for 3 courses.
Nearly 2 hours in total just to have a couple of kids menu and sandwiches, this screwed up our day.
When we pointed this out, barely got an apology but things started moving and nothing was comped.
Great atmosphere! Food was excellent in every way.
We had two tables of 7 for the holidays. Excellent food. Friendly staff. Great wine list. Interesting cocktails. And the decor is colorful and whimsical with a gorgeous quartzite bar and view of Central Park from front dining area. Thank you for a special evening!
Bizarre place. Arrived with no reservation, and despite a lot of empty tables, I was told that the wait was 20 minutes. Made an on the spot reservation on Open Table for literally 15 minutes later (there was plenty of times to choose from) and when I challenged them about honoring the Open Table reservation, the lady at the desk consulted with the manager and then seated us. Ridiculous place. Food ok, service was ok, ambience is nice, but with that kind of attitude, the place is going to die. No reason for patrons to be treated thusly.
Very nice brunch/lunch. I’m happy to report both the service and the food has improved considerably. From when you first opened! Will def be coming back!
Three of us dined in maybe a 1/4 to 1/3 full restaurant. Despite the sparse crowd, the suited server was very negligent and dismissive of us. I’m guessing because we are three middle aged women but we all live within walking distance of Columbus circle so we could potentially be repeat customers. When we asked for more bread they brought us half of the amount which was almost like a “you don’t need to eat the bread” statement.
We had to ask for a dessert menu as if we were bothering him. It was shocking to see this type of service during a holiday season in a very empty restaurant. The bus service and water glass refillers were wonderful and attentive. However the man in the suit who took our order was painfully rude.
So sad. I will be warning all my co workers to not waste their time here.
Terrible experience with reservation! I used Open Table to make a reservation at Bluebird London several days in advance. I confirmed it the day prior. When our party of 6 showed up, they had no space ready. They tried to seat us at a small table for 4. They said they use two systems, Open Table and Resi. Somehow our reservation fell through the cracks. Extremely disappointing.
The meal here was average, nothing bad, nothing great. There were five of us each ordering something different so we got a good sampling of the menu. The Berkshire Pork Schnitzel was a little overcooked. The Atlantic Halibut was okay. There were no standouts on the menu. This was not the case at he Bluebird in London where I have eaten on several occasions. Here service could have been better. Waiters were fairly inattentive. When we booked, on the Open Table reservation we noted that we were celebrating a birthday. No acknowledgement. No candle on a slice of cake. When I mentioned this to the front desk and showed them the reservation they went to fetch the manager. After 15 minutes of back and forth, no manager came. We left.
I've been to Bluebird twice in NYC and also in London.
NYC Bluebird has a great venue overlooking Columbus circle. Also really
great food. But the acoustics are horrible. Strained my vocal cords trying to have a normal conversation. There was someone literally screeching in the bar area. Should have been kicked out. A shame really.
Very good meal overall but a bit salty. Noise level is very loud which seems to be the norm every where you go these days. Service was excellent. Some of the tables are too close together. The bar tender does not know how to make a Cosmopolitan.
My third visit to Bluebird. It gets better each time but still somehow still misses the mark. First, the service. The front of the house (hostess, seating) seems awkward and disjointed. I blew past the hostess stand which sits in front of an odd cafe at the very front of the space. The greeting area should be moved behind the "cafe" to the beginning of the bar area. Second the lighting throughout the space is "dentist office" awful. The bar was too bright and the dining room lighting made my guests skin color look green. Add in awkwardly placed Christmas lights on the window sills (purchased from Walgreens) and you have a jumbled mess. Third, there were exactly two waiters on duty for the entire dining room which was mostly full. The new manager (brought in to improve the experience) stepped in to serve wine, water etc, but we were confused as to who our actual server was...Last, the by the glass wine prices and tiny 3 oz pours are absurd. $19 glass prices for cheap wines reeks of price gouging. On the positive side, Peter (the bartender) mixed a great martini and the food was extremely good (and fairly priced). The tables and banquets are nicely spaced and comfortable. Much to like but room for improvement. I'm hoping it's better next time I go.
The service was terrible and the food came cold
Extremely expensive for what it is. The price of the Sole is outrageous and not worthy. Will never be back!
Terrible experience, never coming back again. I booked a reservation in advance for 10am (that's when they open) and while booking it I specifically stated that it was a special occasion and that I was celebrating my anniversary. And when I first got there, the host was very nice and everything, she saw the note saying that I was celebrating my anniversary and she said she would let the other know which was very sweet of her. However, the nightmare begins after this. The manager seems to be the one taking our order, he wrote down everything we wanted but it seems that he forgot to put in our order as we waited over 40 minutes for our food. Other tables that came in WAY AFTER us all got their food, so we finally asked a waiter if our food was coming out because we have been waiting for quite awhile and the manager came over and said that it was busy and the kitchen probably forgot our order... I came in at 10am that's when the restaurant opens and I was one of the very few tables that was dinning there so I don't understand how it was "busy" and how they missed my order. The manager didn't do much about the situation other than saying that the food is coming out soon. Very disappointing! I got there at 10am and my food was served at 11am. By that time my tea was cold already! They basically ruined my anniversary, we ate for less than 30 minutes because we spent so much time there waiting for the food. The service was terrible, lack of attention. Maybe if the manager got off his phone, he wouldn't have forgotten to put in our order. How ridiculous! They also need better management if that was the manager that was taking care of my table.
The best part about Bluebird is the view! Went for lunch on a sunny day. The park and Columbus Circle was gorgeous. Food quality was above average. My fish and chips was excellent. Cauliflower salad was totally raw with a vinegar imbalance that was startling however. Hubby’s squash soup and burger was good. Bronzino was nicely prepared as was the burrata starter and cavatelli. No room for dessert. But the tea service that started as we were finishing looked photo worthy!
It was a Thanksgiving Dinner with my family and the service was horrible!!! After 10 min waiting we have to ask for someone to take our orders. We even had to ask for water!!!!
Everything was perfect, the food the music the staff, will definitely be back again
Great service! Food and drinks were excellent too. Our server was very kind, knowledgeable and attentive to our large and unruly group.
First visit, and good choice for pre-concert. Portions are large, the cauliflower salad a meal in itself. Burrata was pleasingly presented with thinly sliced pear and nuts arranged in circles around the cheese. The Long Island duck was done just right and with a sauce of fresh berries and coulis, slightly tart. The wine list was adequate in the mid-prices, but many bottles out of range compared to the overall fare.
Service was very good, but best to arrive before the bar groups take their seats in the dining areas.
We plan to return.
The food was excellent, however, the service was all over the place. Maybe I expected too much but felt as if they had just opened and hadn’t been open for years. But the Beef Wellington was delightful so I am hoping it was just an off night
The food was delicious; however, the service was absolutely terrible. It’s unfortunate as the food was really good. I am a longtime neighborhood resident and I won’t return due to the poor service.
Very accomodating. Extremely pleasant waiter. Very nice experience.
The service could’ve been a little better. It was my 45th birthday and the restaurant knew about it but yet when desert came out there was no happy birthday waiting on the desert there’s no candle there was nothing. The presentation could’ve been better
Service is consistently mediocre, but can’t beat the view and the cocktails are delicious and creative. Tea sandwiches were flavorful but the bread was almost stale. The scones and clotted cream were divine. Pastry’s were for the most part good, though some were not fresh. Overall I would go back because the scenery and the ambience are smile making.
The good news-food was outstanding and we were lucky to get a table with a view of Columbus Circle. Which helped since tables closer to the Bar area were quite noisy. It is a new restaurant so the decor was nice though ultra “modern”. Service was a little spotty - our server was attentive but was not knowledgeable about the menu or wine choices. Also, the food arrived in a confusing schedule- entree then almost immediately the appetizer?? The menu itself had only a few entree items though everything we tried was delicious. Worth another trip in a few months when they have ironed out these “start-up” issues.
Loved the décor! We had a seat overlooking the Columbus statue which was great fun.
The food was excellent.
Great location. Great food. Excellent service.
Usually have a nice meal with good service but Bluebird was way off their game. Inexperienced waiter, poor overpriced cocktails, oysters not fresh, squid ink pasta too salty and overcooked steak all made for a disappointing, but pricey dining experience. We will not be going back soon to our pre-theatre dinner anytime soon.
It was our anniversary and they wished us Happy Anniversary several times through meal. Even comped our dessert! Food as always was amazing, my personal favourite was the Brooklyn Burratta and the Steak Tartare.
