Blueacre Seafood Ratings and Reviews
Went on a Saturday night ( 7pm ) and place was 75% empty....they were closing up sections. Service started off good but tailed off as dinner went on. There was a big gap in between courses with no real checking on us. Table was cluttered with plates and dinnerware that wasn't in use for long periods of time even though a bus boy was walking around. The ambiance and service was just lacking and think the place needs a re-do internally.
The food however was very good. Oysters fresh, seafood perfectly cooked, and portions are quite big. Nice wine list as well with plenty to choose from to pair with your dinner.
So overall it wasn't a bad night at all, just expected more.
The food was excellent. Every dish perfectly prepared & with beautiful presentation. Our only complaint was the service. The waiter repeatedly approached our table asking to take our order even after being told that we were not in a hurry. When we asked about any specials and he stated that usually they have a pre shift meeting and he didn’t know why they didn’t have one he never returned with an answer. A server should anticipate the needs of the guest and read the table. He did none of these. I had to request water refills when all of our water glasses were empty and he never refilled them again. We spent over $400 on our meal that evening and despite how wonderful the food was we may never return because of the unprofessional service.
The food was not up to standard. Cioppino was very watery and even though it was priced at $20, there was literally 1 shrimp, 3 small pieces of fish, LOADs of pasta and some mussels and clams. The fries were so heavily salted that even the salt lovers at the table could not eat them. Our waiter forgot our appetizer order. The restaurant was very quiet at this time ... it had maybe 2 other tables with guests so it cannot be said that it was too busy. As we paid our bill, we said we would not be back. The manager was great in trying to understand our issues and to help us out with the bill. However, one of the chefs in the kitchen, made a point to come out and ask the waiter which table was complaining. He glared at me from the kitchen entrance but did not make any attempt to try to explain the disappointment we had in the food.
Just to be clear, we have been frequent guests here in the past so this is not a first time experience but this was our first visit back after a year. Definitely won't be back.
Not sure what was going on but this was the worst service I’ve ever had. Yes, it was New Year’s Eve, but for the price I paid, the restaurant provided some of the worst service I’ve ever had. Won’t be going back. Don’t staff up your restaurant and accept reservations if you can’t handle the load. We were sat directly across from a super loud table of 20+ people when I specifically asked for a special “date” table, had to ask several times for a refill of anything to drink, had to load my own to go box, and then ask for a bag to carry them home. When you charge what this place does and call yourself a gourmet and fine dining establishment, act like it. Really had a chance to shine but instead ruined what was supposed to be a great, romantic dinner before ringing in the New Years. And thanks for forcing me to pay the 20% gratuity...wasn’t earned on any level.
BEING THAT IT WAS NEW YEARS EVE THEY HAD ADDED SEVERAL EXTRA TABLES AND IT WAS CRAMPED. WE ASKED FOR A BOOTH AND THE HOST SAID HE DIDNT KNOW IF THEY WERE AVAILABLE, ALTHOUGH THERE WERE SEVERAL BOOTHS EMPTY AT THE TIME BUT HE NEVER EVEN CHECKED FOR US SO WE STAYED AT THE TABLE THAT WAS CRAMPED WITH OTHER TABLES.
My husband absolutely loved the service at this restaurant. We arrived later in the evening and I wasn't in the mood for a large meal so I ordered the fish n' chips which was a good choice. They have freshly squeezed lemonade which was quite refreshing. It was sort of fancy, so I would recommend somewhat dressing up. Apparently they print new menus daily, and if there is a special catch, they will modify their menu to include it that day.
Beware of the mandatory 20% tip. I didn’t read the small print and ended up giving another 20% on top of the fixed charge and tax (about 45% extra). Food was fine, albeit a bit overpriced, but the whole hidden service charge made us feel ripped off when we got back to the hotel. Not needed, as I willingly gave a 20% tip, but we stayed 10 minutes after paying and none of the staff questioned our final 45% total tip. A tourist ‘trap’.
We won’t visit again.
This is our 2nd time at this restaurant. When we visit Seattle & happen to stay downtown again, we’ll surely visit again. The 2-1/2 lb. lobster from our visit earlier this year was what briught us back for a 2nd time. This time, the lobster was only 1-1/2 lbs. that was disappointing bur nonstheless still good.
We ate here for our annual Festivus dinner. The location was last-minute since I forgot to reserve our usual place. We came with low expectations and they were more than exceeded. We were seated immediately and had fast service throughout the meal. My husband had the black cod that our waitress recommended and it was so good that I kept stealing bites. I ate fairly light with an amazing dinner salad (literally the best dinner salad I've ever had!!) and lobster bisque. We skipped dessert but I had the chocolate martini and it was fantastic. We will definitely be back.
Holiday weekend in town. Table was ready on time.
Very very good service. Our server was outstanding.
All the meals where good, zero complaints from anyone.
The pricing is super reasonable for a downtown restaurant with the high quality of service. We had a 10 year old with us and they went out of there way to make something for her.
We had their Dungeness Crab & Bay Shrimp Tater Tots, two cups of their Alaska Razer Clam Chowder, Maple-Glazed Whole Idaho Rainbow Trout, and Chocolate Pecan Pie for dessert. Everthing was delicious. The service was prompt. They served bread with butter for free. They had a variety of cocktails which were tasty as well. We felt they were worth what we paid. The decor was nice. You can see into the kitchen! Would come again.
Always great - the food, the service, and the ambience. I take clients here for lunch. There are many options, not just seafood, and I am never underwhelmed by the quality of food and service. I also love that they don't cram us in a booth. We all know that for business lunches, we want a table with adequate elbow room. They have this down! They also offer a prix fixe lunch, which is a great deal for three courses. I enjoy having smaller courses and more variety, so this option suits me well.
The part that bothered me is because we were a large group and automatically the server would get 20% they were not attentive. Had to continually ask to have my water refilled, open bottles, etc. A few us ordered the same meals yet when they came they all looked different. The fried chicken was yummy and so was the pecan pie
Horrible, horrible service... waited for more than an hour after ordering for my entree with no explanation or attempt to mitigate anything. Largely ignored by staff even after receiving my food. My waiter was cold and unfriendly with inexplicably no desire to do anything resembling service. I couldn't understand, but after receiving my check everything made sense. On my check was a mandatory 20% service charge for my party of one. Servers here obviously know they don't have to do anything to earn a healthy 20% tip and it shows... The high end prices are paired with service bested by any Denny's or McDonald's. Will never return
