The ambiance was great. Overall, our server was excellent - she heard incorrectly, we ordered the way of the warrior and was brought winter warrior. We liked it regardless, so we didn't really complain about it. We ordered 3 rolls and only thing missing from our food was wasabi and ginger for all three. As far as helpfulness and friendliness, our server was 10/10. The food was hands down the most unique and best sushi we have ever had anywhere. The team looked like they had great camaraderie and unity. Thank you, we enjoyed our first experience at Blue Sushi.

The food was very good, i don’t eat sushi so I got the lettuce wraps and they were very fresh. But i got my food way before the rest of my party of 5 bc they ordered sushi. The soda machine was out of order so there were no non- alcoholic drinks available, and we had 3 teens w us. Our waiter was super nice, he knew the menu, etc but it was so loud , we couldn’t hear him . Overall, it’s a fun place w great ambience ( not for the older crowd bc of the noise level). It’s easy to get reservations-Definitely give it a try -

Absolutely love this beautiful restaurant! The sushi menu is off the charts and consistently delicious! Montana took wonderful care of us. He was friendly, knowledgeable and attentive. The bar is an added bonus serving up unique and tasty cocktails. This was a fourth visit and already planning a return.

They said the sushi bar was backed up, but we had already ordered other sushi and received it. No offer to comp for that item. We got it to go. Also, we were celebrating 3 birthdays and no mention of dessert. I looked online later and saw they do have dessert options that aren’t listed on the menu. But- our server was otherwise kind and the coconut sake was great, as well as the tuna tower and tidal wave roll.

LOVE all the vegan options on the menu, sooo many to choose from. Wait on our order was a good bit longer than the norm this visit, not sure what happened, and one of my rolls didn’t have an ingredient it is supposed to, something I wasn’t told until receiving my food, but it was all still delicious.

Food was delicious! Service was good but we felt very rushed. Unfortunately I couldn’t hear almost anything my server was saying or have much conversation with my dinner buddy. I would definitely go back just maybe not on a Friday night.

If you like sushi packed with rice and no protein then this is your place. There’s no way I’d go here again. Go to Okinawa, it’s 100% better.

What has happened to Blue Sushi Sake Grill??? We used to go weekly and haven’t been in a few months. Absolute disappointment!!! First impressions is the host & hostess literally have something negative to say about EVERY SINGLE PERSON who walks into the door! Absolutely a turnoff. Once we were seated our waitress came by our table a few times but was too busy to take our order. After our food finally came, the seaweed was so tough it could hardly be chewed. The only good experience we had was when we were finished with the meal and left. This is such a disappointment because this was our go-to sushi spot for so long. I don’t think we will ever be back

It was our first time here and it was AMAZING. First the atmosphere and interior are so fun - great for a night out, date night, celebration, etc. We had Nayeli and she went over the entire menu front to back for us and was the best server I've had in a long time. I will be asking for her again! The food tasted fantastic and things come out staggered - so just be aware if you're the type of person who doesn't like that - but it makes you want to try and order more! Can't wait to come back!!

We just moved to the area and it was our first time dining at Blue Sake, and unfortunately, they missed the mark from start to finish, regarding ambiance, quality of service, food and dish sanitation practices, and overall management. We arrived a few minutes early for our reservation and were told they were cleaning our table. There was nowhere to stand and we were forced to stand in front of the carryout shelf which employees kept having to use. When we sat down, we asked if the restaurant served bourbon, and the server told us “no sorry we don’t have bourbon.” Then one of our guests walked up to the bar only to discover that the restaurant had multiple brands of bourbon… He ordered a double bourbon neat, and when it arrived there was food stuck to the inside of the glass! We waited 10 minutes but could not locate our server. When she finally showed up, she apologized for the glass having food inside it. We ordered appetizers (edamame and miso soup) but they all came out 15 minutes apart. So we didn’t even get to eat the first course together. When we ordered entrees, they took extremely long to arrive, and one of our guests never even received their food! Again, the server was nowhere to be found. Two of our guests finished their entrees before the server came back to check on us. We told her the order was missing. She apologized and then we waited 15 more min before our third guest got their meal. He had to take it to go, as we had already been at the restaurant more than 2 hours and the other guests had to leave. I have never left a negative Open Table review in all my years of dining, but this experience unfortunately warranted one. I hope that management invests more in the training of employees on both the food and beverage offerings, holds itself to a higher degree of customer service, as well as timeliness of food delivery, and adheres to a stricter food safety and dish sanitation policy. If all of that is practiced, this place has potential.

Third time I have been to Blue Sushi Sake Grill and have yet to have a bad experience. The staff is always very friendly and make great suggestions for sushi and drinks. By far my favorite sushi place in Birmingham.

My wife and I went on our monthly date night. First time for both of us and we were very impressed. The drinks were great (per wife, I drank beer), the food was phenomenal, and the service was excellent. Don't remember the guys name but he was a rock star. We for the Brussels to start and those were up there with the Brussels at Soho Social. We shared 3 rolls, the Tidal Wave, Lion King, and the Godzilla Bomb. All 3 were amazing. Wife said she's getting the same thing when we go back.

Blue Sushi Sake Grill has excellent quality of food and service! The decor of the restaurant is gorgeous and feels like we were transported to another place. The drinks were beautifully aesthetic, well-balanced, and delicious, with many to choose from. The quality of sushi was great. I would highly recommend the Crispy Brussels as a starter. Our favorite rolls so far are the Godzilla Bomb, Green eggs & Hama, and the Amazon Roll (which is very unique and tasty - never had anything like it, but easily our fave of the night). We will most definitely be revisiting this place!
