We had a wonderful lunch yesterday. Our waitress was Samantha and she did a very nice job of taking care of us. The food was absolutely delicious as always and we look forward to dining with you again very soon.!
I visited Blue Stem for a birthday celebration. It was a wonderful, classy, cozy dinning experience. Definitely on the pricey side.
Very disappointed, food only ok, very expensive. Would not recommend.
For the place being nearly empty took a long time to get the food, then my wife sent the fish back for lack of flavor. She then got the salmon which was very well done (but took another 15 mins while I ate alone) My Kobe burger for $15. was far from a good value, would not get it again. We had much greater expectations.
Not a good first experience, went for a birthday dinner.
Cellophane piece in 1 salad, and wax paper left on cheese on cheese burger, items were not charged for, management made it right, other then that, it was nice. Open table reservation system not working right, wanted 6 pm was not available, when we arrived for 5;30 res. and through our dinner only 2 other parties arrived, Friday night?
We made reservations weeks in advance for the final night of the summer music series to celebrate our 28th wedding anniversary. The disappointment in finding out not only that the music was cancelled for another event was topped only by the poor service, poor selection of food and wine, less than stellar food, and overpriced libations compared to any other restaurant I've been to, period. $23 for a double Woodford Reserve? Really? It's $39 for a 750ml bottle. I might pay $23 for a tumbler of 18 year old single malt Macallan, but for Woodford Reserve? This was our second visit to the Blue Stem and we will not be back.
We had a fabulous me and we sat outside on the patio. The fountain and music were a nice addition. Good service too. We will be back.
We made a reservation based on a friends suggestion. Restaurant was only 30% full when we arrived and the couple behind us was turned away because they had NOT made a reservation. The restaurant was never more than 50% full all evening. How do you turn away business?
Our server was Less than friendly.....and her service was subpar for the type of dining. However, she did appear to have a LOT of tables. - Maybe this is why they turned away business? Not enough staff?
Food was good but a little on the high side for price.
Outdoor dining was BEAUTIFUL however, outdoor lighting was not turned on until WELL after dark. (little hard to see to eat - as there weren't any candles on the tables) ... Live music by Tony Fields was FANTASTIC!
For the price, the food was pretty bland. Nice view though.
We enjoyed a beautiful evening at Blue Stem. We requested outdoor seating to hear the awesome music of Lexi Adams. We were seated outside (after combing our reservations...two 2-tops combined=4.) The ambiance was a perfect lovely evening. Food, service and entertainment were fabulous!! I will return and will recommend this restaurant to others as well.
We sat outside & enjoyed the fantastic view. Service was great & so was the food!
My boyfriend surprised me by taking me here while I was visit him in Michigan! It was amazing, we danced to the live music, enjoy great wine and food, and loved the starry night sky and gorgeous hilltop view. We went around 9 pm and there were a few people there but not to many and we sat outside. The live music was amazing!
Great first visit! Loved the food, loved the view and the service. A *bit* noisy on a Sat evening, with the bar area not walled off. Nonetheless we'll be back. The salmon was wonderful!
One small nit though - our initial water glasses were filled with very rusty-tasting water. The decanter provided for refills did not, however.
Slow service. For an upscale restaurant, the food wasn’t that good.
Requested an outside table and the restaurant wasn’t able to accommodate even thought the reservation had been made many days in advance. The inside restaurant is loud. The drinks and food are very good.
My husband and I were looking to find a new place to have dinner that also offered entertainment.
The food was really good, the view was awesome and we were there for 3 hours enjoying the entertainment!
Will definitely go back.
The only down side I can speak of is that once the sun goes down they should really have some tiki torches to keep bugs at bay.
Also, they were pretty late in turning on any lighting outside on the deck where we were watching the entertainment. It was sooooo dark out there, we could hardly see the band, and they had no lighting to see what they were doing either... just a few glitches they need to figure out 😉
Excellent food and atmosphere for a chilled evening.
Service was extremely slow. We were there for 2.5 hours and at least 1.5 hours were spent waiting on the server. Food was pretty good, but the poor service was enough to make me not want to go back.
Waitrrs cover too large area -cannot see customer needs
Delicious meal, great drinks and an amazing view. Our family had a good experience. We were particularly impressed with the salmon and beef tips. There was something on the menu for everyone. So good. Nice work Blue Stem.
Great service !! Our waitress was very attentive for a table of 8 . The taste of the food was excellent ! Only issue was a couple of meals could have been hotter . I have always had great food here .
The whitefish was dry. Others enjoyed their meals. Too noisy. Couldn't hold a conversation. Thank you for the delicious birthday dessert. Awesome view!
Everything was great except the food. Horrible asparagus! It was super thin and stringy. Definitely substandard. Our server offered to replace it with a different side and that side was much better. Please consider a higher quality when offering side dishes. For the price point on your menu I would expect better.
Our server was excellent.
Great food and view.
Competition to get terrace seating. Had reservation, but told we were on our own.
When we relocated to the terrace, we were asked if we had brought our table settings with us—huh? Then our same water glasses were brought to the new table and we weren’t sure whose was whose Really? Can’t swing for fresh water glasses?
Excellent meal, I recommend the shrimp & grits! Kitchen was slow that night so allow extra time if you have theatre tickets.
The restaurant is just plain too loud. We try to either sit outside or at a small table in the bar. The food is good as well as the service. There has to be a way to reduce the noice level
The food has a Scottish flair and must be considered as such. There is a distinct lack of chocolate in the mixed drinks and desserts, but that is not necessarily a detractor. It is a bit too far for casual diners to go to more than once, but one time may get you hooked.
Gorgeous views and just 10 minutes to The Barn Theatre in Augusta--we have enjoyed dining here both before and after the shows. The menu has a lot of variety and sitting outside in the shade is wonderful--could have used less piped in music from their speakers on the night we were there, but the noise level was not that objectionable. Overall, a great local choice! We will definitely be back!
Perfect in every aspect!
Raucous noise from golfers in the adjoining bar area pretty much neutralized any dining ambiance or dinner conversation indoors. Hot food, wine list, desserts and service all good. Entree salads were not fresh. They probably used pre-made greens set-ups and then dressed them with add-ons as ordered. The view eastward from this highest point in the county is wonderful. I am hoping that the concrete pad I saw just south of the restaurant is intended as a golf club house and bar in the future. Once you remove the bar noise from the restaurant area you will have an overall excellent arrangement. But until that happens, consider this a noisy bar with good food and a great view.
It was a rainy day, and golfers came in from the course. THEY WERE IN THE BAR AND THEY WERE VERY LOUD!!
We were in the restaurant, but too close to the bar. Maybe you should find a way to soften that noise.
Service was leisurely, and food took a long time to arrive. Because it was a family gathering, it didn’t matter — just saying it took a long time.
I love Blue Stem but all 3 of us had the chicken Flatbread and the chicken was hard, dry and uneatable. We did eat the Flatbread but took the chicken chunks off and left them on the plate.
But the sweet potato fries were the best I've had.
1st time visit this past week. Enjoyed greatly. Perfect night to sit on patio to celebrate our anniversary. Thanks Much Waitress was great. Very Pleasant
Though we had made reservations, there was not a table available in the dining room, and we were offered a choice of a high top table at bar versus a table outside. Our waitress brought us 3 dinner and 1 lunch menu but forgot to bring us drink menu or wine list. We eventually received mixed drink menu only. Waitress forgot our coffee and gone for significant portions of our time there. Food was good but didn’t leave feeling like they were glad we dined with them.
We really enjoyed the setting/atmosphere, especially the deck and the great view. However, the mosquitos got us when it became dark and we moved back into the main dining room. The menu was varied and interesting. We ate off the appetizer section and had drinks. Felt the price point / value was fair and competitive. We're glad to have an option without a long drive for a nice evening without the kids. If the deck area had been fogged for mosquitos, we could have stayed on the patio all evening and enjoyed the view.
Really enjoyed our meal and Amber was a great server!
ONE OF THE NICER DINING EXPERIENCES IN A 25 MILE RADIUS OF KAZOO. KEEP IT THAT WAY!
Lovely setting and outdoor patio was lovely but food was mediocre for value
My boyfriend and I went because we saw a band playing on the patio that we liked! We got there and the table and patio was awesome! However, it was not the band playing that they had advertised. The drinks were a great price. However, the band ruined the experience and we both left disappointed.
