Blue Smoke celebrates the evolving American South and honors its culinary traditions. Inspired by the many regions of the South, from the Carolina coast to the hills of central Texas, Executive Chef Jean-Paul Bourgeois’ menu is soulful with a selection of smoked meats, fresh produce, and thoughtfully sourced ingredients. Classic and specialty cocktails, an extensive American craft beer list, American wines and whiskey served by a welcoming team complete the experience.

The flagship Blue Smoke, with the club Jazz Standard, is located on East 27th Street in New York City, and a second location opened in 2012 in NYC’s Battery Park City.

Food excellent, service was beyond appalling.

They clearly wanted to turn the table around quickly despite the fact that we had booked the table and they weren't desperately busy.

Server was borderline obnoxious and they started clearing plates away from the table while 2/3rds of the group weremail still eating.

Wanna feel like you're eating in a fast food restaurant? Visit, cause these guys are absolute bell ends.

Awful. Food was terrible. Ribs were dry and cold. We are having wings and no wet wipes were provided. Service was super slow. I had an empty glass of diet coke and wine for half of the dinner. Family visiting all the way from Portugal and this was awful. Stay away from the one on 27th. Used to be good and now is terrible

I've liked this place since it opened long ago. Nice vibe, nice wait staff, mostly really good BBQ based on different regional styles from the south and west. Is it the best BBQ place in NYC? I dunno, but it's certainly quite decent. Fave: The brisket. It's just always moist and tasty and hearty and... you know. When I make BBQ brisket at home I want it to come out like this, but it doesn't. The ribs are pretty killer, too, as long as you like your ribs on the sweet side, which I do. Weak spot is the smoked chicken - it's a bit too salty for me, and I'm even a guy who likes salty stuff. just something off balance there. but aside from that, I've summed everything I've had here. Oh, the deviled eggs are particularly good, too.

Good choice of meats from the smokehouse. I enjoyed very much the sausage and the brisket. Delicious. Side orders are also top notch. There is a tasting of all they got, which is a very good choice if you are hungry.

Good food and good service, in summary I would gladly return in warmer months.....

I would just comment that the place was very cold in doors. We were initially by the front door and that was perishing. We were then moved to a table upstairs that was warmer but still cold in anyone’s terms. I don’t think it was just either as fellow diners were borderline shivering plus the waiters were warming themselves on portable heaters too..

The gumbo was served luke warm and I sent it back. It was hot the second time around, but still a little bland and thin. The ribs were delicious. A fun place.

My niece was very excited about trying Blue Smoke for her birthday. When I called to confirm our reservation the hostess asked about our special occasion taking my nieces name and age so we could celebrate it. We tried the BBQ chips, cornbread Madeline's, Mac and Cheese and Gumbo. The Mac and cheese was great, as were the Madeline's! The chips were OK but the gumbo was really disappointing. Thin broth with little to no sausage and a scoop of rice on the side? The chips were served quickly however the Madeline's took some time, arriving at the same time as our meals. We also ordered the biscuits but they never turned up. Once we finished dinner, it took over 20 mins for our plates to be cleared. The waiter dropped off the dessert menu returning 15 mins later to ask about our choice. Given my discussion with the hostess I had assumed - incorrectly - that they would bring a celebration dessert. After a 45 min wait, we choose to pass on dessert and go home. The restaurant was clearly understaffed for a Sunday evening. A very disappointing evening all around.

Obviously they had an off night last Sunday...all the meats were overcooked and very dry.
Having eaten at Blue Smoke many times throughout the years thought it a good idea to take friends visiting from Peru to taste real American Bar BQ, sorry it did not satisfied.
