What Insiders Are Saying
A long time Infatuation favorite. Blue Smoke is still serving some of the best BBQ you can find in NYC.
Food was excellent. Service was a bit of a let down. We were seated at a small table and after ordering we felt that one of the larger two seater tables would accommodate all the food better. My wife mentioned this to the women at the front desk but we weren’t moved. When the food came the waiter agreed that the table was a bit small for all the food so her moved us to the larger two seater table. The woman at the front desk came over and was quite short with us telling us that we should have told her we were moving, even though it was the waiter that had moved us. Her attitude kind of spoiled the night. The food was excellent though.
I’ve never had a bad experience at Blue Smoke and this last visit was nothing short of amazing. Our server, Freddy, made it a point to make sure we selected the correct menu items as the menu has changed since the last time I was there and his suggestions were great. The wing sampler was different but very tasty and the cornbread Madeline’s were just INCREDIBLE. The whipped cheesecake and the banana pudding were also amazing. It’s definately a place you’d want to try multiple times because the menu has so much to offer.
Excellent BBQ. Very hard to find good beef ribs. These were outstanding.
The whole fried chicken was fried to perfection with excellent crispy bits falling off. The ribs were also tender with great flavor.
This place was recommended to us my friends who’d visited NYC earlier this year and we were not disappointed. The welcome and seating service was efficient and courteous. The waiter explained items we weren’t sure about and was particularly helpful when we mentioned an allergy in our party. The menu choice is great and plenty of options for sides etc. The food quality is outstanding and we polished off the lot. Thoroughly recommended the pork wings ( pigs fly in nyc apparently) and the brisket beef. Pork and beans side were to die for.
All round an awesome night and experience. Thank you
Meat felt like it was sitting out a while. Beef rib tasted more like beef jerky than a succulent piece of smoked meat.
Blue Smoke has been one of my favorites for years. Hadn't been there in two years but the food was just as good as I remember. In particular, their smoked brisket is outstanding. went there on a friday night with friends and you could actually talk and hear each other, unlike many other restaurants in Manhattan. Nice ambiance too. Moderately priced (for Manhattan) but still, can't give it 5 stars on price.
We had been in the air all day and a little jaded. We were warmly welcomed and expected. The food was great as was the ambience. We had baby back ribs and a good bottle of Californian Cabernet Sauvignon. We had said when booking that it was our anniversary so we were gifted a glass each of tasty bubbly. A lovely touch.
A treat, as always. Super food, including a new item: Alabama Street Corn!
I took my wife and two kids. The service was great. Our principal waiter was very friendly, articulate and helpful. The food was delicious and filling. I worried that I might need a nap when I returned to the office. I've been here many times before and plan to return again and again.
My wife and I fell in love with blue smoke years ago, and we keep coming back. Amazing service, and fantastic food.
My boyfriend and I really loved blue smoke. Amazing food and staff. Definitely coming back.
This was my second time eating at Blue Smokehouse and the second time that I celebrated a special occasion. I felt welcome as soon as we walked in. The food was fantastic. Everyone was friendly and happy. They seemed to like their jobs. I will be coming back soon. I love this place.
Ribs are delicious, but all sides are extra, so somewhat expensive
Always good. We got the special for $40 a person and it was great. Service is always exemplary.
Had the Beef Ribs, they were a little dry for my liking. I expected a little more meat left on the bone, seemed over trimmed. Over all taste was good. Salad and sides were excellent.
My wife and I shared the skillet Mac & Cheese, a pound of the brisket and the biscuits. They were fabulous, without any barbecue sauce, which, by the way, was not on the table, nor was any offered when we commented to our waiter how we normally have a variety of sauces to choose from at most “barbecue joints”. That said, we enjoyed our meal, had more than enough portions, and the flavors couldn’t be topped! We look forward to coming again when we next visit NYC!
For the best food and service in all of New York City
come to Blue Smoke
Blue Smoke is a great place, only complaint is we ordered the full smoke pit dinner and they only give you one rib each. Come on guys, you should give at least 2 and probably 3, other then that food is awesome and The biscuits might be the best I ever had!
Love Blue Smoke! Seth and all the wait staff welcomed us like royalty. The food was delicious. Some of the best bbq around in NYC! The cornbread madeleines are a must order! Can’t wait to come back the next time I’m in New York.
Limping along on only one air conditioner on a 95 degree day in Manhattan is bad. Lying about it to customers so that they sweat through their meal is not cool. Food was colder than the room.
For the last night of our holiday we went to Blue Smoke and were not disappointed. The staff were great, service was great, food was great, drinks were great.
Great food and service. We had an amazing lunch and our waiter was friendly, great with our kids and knowledgeable about the entire menu and beer selection.
These guys blew us away with their hospitality and attentiveness. So accommodating and eager to attend to any desire we had. I can't wait to go back, food was amazing, cocktails also amazing and they were extremely kid friendly and genuine. Awesome experience.
I enjoyed the food and the ambiance. The BBQ sauce made the difference on the beef ribs I had, and the fries were excellent. I would recommend more options for vegetarians or pescatarians. I was a bit disappointed that the menu was a la carte; I think the options should include sides. All in all, a great place.
It was kind of fantastic, server was absolutley accomadating. Food was perfect. Portions were more than enough.
Went here for a special anniversary and was welcomed with complimentary sparkling wine. Atmosphere, food and service were excellent. Our server was very accommodating. Drove all the way in from N.J. well worth the trip. Thank you all
Quality of the food has gone down over time. Every time the menu changes there is less to want. On this occasion my guest was served a plate with lettuce that was clearly beyond wilted. And the coleslaw appeared to be aging, too; but at least I did not get sick from it. Evidently the key lime pie was made up especially for me because it took so long to get it out of the kitchen or refrigerator. Deviled eggs are still good.
Great food but miss the fried spicy chicken. Why is it off the menu? Great kids menu!
Great peanut and tree nut dining!
Best BBQ we have ever had!!!
Outstanding service And delicious food, I will definitely be dining there again.
Food great. Great experience
We loved the energetic service.
Authentic Louisiana food! The shrimp po’boys and beignets are amazing!
A perfect place for friends to meet and chat and eat good food.
A group of friends comes here every summer for dinner— this was our fifth year and the staff has even started to recognize us. Unfortunately this year the meal was bumpy at best. Or appetizers never came and when we inquired they were brought out cold. We sent them back only to have them return along with all of our entrées at the same time. We were also a frustrated by the size of a table, 8 of us were seated comfortably but the round table hardly had any room for plates and trays— particularly for a for a place that offers family style. Once the food began arriving we were forced to pile things on top of each other and start consolidating dishes before we even started eating. Finally, the entree order itself was frustrating. Knowing we had eight big guys ready to eat, we picked up the meats that sounded best to us and asked the waiter for his guidance on amounts (half rack, full rack, by the pound etc.). We took his lead and unfortunately there was not nearly enough food to go around. Everything was gone in 10 minutes and the guys were still hungry. Our waiter offered to put in an order for more food but at that point everyone was a frustrated and we decided to wrap up. Great place, have had great experiences in the past. Unfortunately this one was not.
Was very underwhelmed by food. Had the deviled eggs, which came warm and clearly weren’t brought out fresh. Was disappointed to find they didn’t offer the cornbread madeleines anymore and ordered biscuit instead which wasn’t good at all. Was very bland with the exception of salt sprinkled atop. The best thing I had were the wings and the delicious bourbon cocktails. The smoked wings are addictive and the portion is massive & great for sharing. Those along with music at Jazz Standard was the saving grace of the evening.
Amazing brisket and Madeline’s.
Keeps getting better.
I love BBQ and smoked meats. This restaurant is up there on my list for great food in NYC. Try the BBQ sampler and fried and smoked cornish hen!
My grandchildren have loved Blue Smoke and ask for it by name when asked where they want to go for dinner.
