Blue Smoke celebrates the evolving American South and honors its culinary traditions. Inspired by the many regions of the South, from the Carolina coast to the hills of central Texas, Executive Chef Jean-Paul Bourgeois’ menu is soulful with a selection of smoked meats, fresh produce, and thoughtfully sourced ingredients. Classic and specialty cocktails, an extensive American craft beer list, American wines and whiskey served by a welcoming team complete the experience.

The flagship Blue Smoke, with the club Jazz Standard, is located on East 27th Street in New York City, and a second location opened in 2012 in NYC’s Battery Park City.

Our reservation was on a Monday evening at 6:45, We started with the warm potato chips that were cold and 2 rounds of drinks which were expensive but pretty good. We finally asked why no food had been served and were informed they ran out of their top barbecue foods (brisket and beef ribs) as the comedy club downstairs shares the same kitchen and they were not prepared for the amount of food needed. I have a hard time with this as this is nothing new for them, how does a barbecue joint run out of ribs and brisket early in the evening! The manager was apologetic however the waiter who started off being charming became extremely rude. We had food we didn’t order and left quickly afterwards to find another place for desert . Too bad, as a year ago we enjoyed lower prices, good food and good service, it’s sad when a favorite place goes downhill.

Amazing food in a really unique spacious restaurant! Everything was suberb, especially the brisket & biscuits. Highly recommend!

Only half the menu was available (no pork!)- this was not communicated on the phone when confirming the reservation earlier in the day. Service was inconsistent. Food was good but small portions - overpriced and given the failings in other areas not worth the money.

They were out of several foods that seemed to be non-negotiable menu items when thinking of going to Blue Smoke. They were out of chicken wings, brisket, bbq chicken, large ribs, cole slaw and for dessert no donuts. Seems like a lot of items to be out of at 9pm on a Saturday night. Very disappointed. Will not return for awhile. Super bowl or not, there is no excuse to essentially abandon the main restaurant menu in favor of fulfilling some super bowl parties.

Blue Smoke never disappoints. Chicken-fried BBQ smoked ribs (occasional special) were outstanding and the brisket burnt ends were equally fantastic. Wait staff was helpful, responsive, professional and friendly. I will return (and return).

Love since they switched Blue Smoke to family style serving. Their allergy friendly menus are super helpful and the servers are pretty knowledgeable as well.

Generally, none of us are big time barbeque fans, however, since Blue Smoke is part of the Union Square Hospitality group, we figured that the food would be great, and it was. The brisket was excellent as was the pulled pork dish, plus the corn bread side was full of flavor. An added plus were the unique and cleverly crafted cocktails.

As usual, very good. Only minor complaint, since it was 8:00 Sunday, they were out of baby backs, and even sadder, they were out of banana pudding.
Our out of town guests were all very pleased with my choice of Blue Smoke for dinner.

Food and atmosphere were wonderful. Service was friendly but a bit lagging. Bar service was very slow (though cocktails were delicious and selection of spirits and beer very good), and we had to ask several times for dishes that we had ordered. Also, the restaurant ran out of two of their signature meats (including the brisket) before we ordered, so we could not choose the "whole pit" option, which would have been a much better value for our group.

Food excellent, service was beyond appalling.

They clearly wanted to turn the table around quickly despite the fact that we had booked the table and they weren't desperately busy.

Server was borderline obnoxious and they started clearing plates away from the table while 2/3rds of the group weremail still eating.

Wanna feel like you're eating in a fast food restaurant? Visit, cause these guys are absolute bell ends.
