Blue Smoke celebrates the evolving American South and honors its culinary traditions. Inspired by the many regions of the South, from the Carolina coast to the hills of central Texas, Executive Chef Jean-Paul Bourgeois’ menu is soulful with a selection of smoked meats, fresh produce, and thoughtfully sourced ingredients. Classic and specialty cocktails, an extensive American craft beer list, American wines and whiskey served by a welcoming team complete the experience.

The flagship Blue Smoke, with the club Jazz Standard, is located on East 27th Street in New York City, and a second location opened in 2012 in NYC’s Battery Park City.

Had to wait for food for over an hour(!) after ordering since they essentially run two restaurants from one kitchen... and prioritize Serving the food to their jazz music section ahead of their regular restaurant. All this, without letting diners know that their food won’t be cooked until they’re done serving the other restaurant.

Have been to Blue Smoke many times over the years. It’s menu, under a departed chef, was larger and more adventurous. The food now seems mid-America generic and slightly dull. But the convivial ambience plus the restaurant’s competent comfort food produce a very pleasant experience.

The food was Great! The mac and cheese was my favorite and their home made bbq sauce hit the spot. My brother loved the ribs and couldn't get enough of the home made bbq sauce either. The ambiance was awesome as well, great for any occasion.

Blue Smoke has been around for over a decade, and the scene hasn't changed much over that time. The food is good, but not great. Ribs are kind of middle of the road. Coleslaw is very good. Baked beans are way too soupy and not very good. Service is always excellent. Servers are very attentive and enthusiastic. Overall vibe is fun and very casual.

Our reservation was on a Monday evening at 6:45, We started with the warm potato chips that were cold and 2 rounds of drinks which were expensive but pretty good. We finally asked why no food had been served and were informed they ran out of their top barbecue foods (brisket and beef ribs) as the comedy club downstairs shares the same kitchen and they were not prepared for the amount of food needed. I have a hard time with this as this is nothing new for them, how does a barbecue joint run out of ribs and brisket early in the evening! The manager was apologetic however the waiter who started off being charming became extremely rude. We had food we didn’t order and left quickly afterwards to find another place for desert . Too bad, as a year ago we enjoyed lower prices, good food and good service, it’s sad when a favorite place goes downhill.

Amazing food in a really unique spacious restaurant! Everything was suberb, especially the brisket & biscuits. Highly recommend!

Only half the menu was available (no pork!)- this was not communicated on the phone when confirming the reservation earlier in the day. Service was inconsistent. Food was good but small portions - overpriced and given the failings in other areas not worth the money.

They were out of several foods that seemed to be non-negotiable menu items when thinking of going to Blue Smoke. They were out of chicken wings, brisket, bbq chicken, large ribs, cole slaw and for dessert no donuts. Seems like a lot of items to be out of at 9pm on a Saturday night. Very disappointed. Will not return for awhile. Super bowl or not, there is no excuse to essentially abandon the main restaurant menu in favor of fulfilling some super bowl parties.
