Blue Smoke Battery Park City Ratings and Reviews
We had a delicious and very tasty meal with friends visiting from Memphis - where they know BBQ! Our friends stated that the BBQ meal “was FABULOUS” The waiter Ben was very professional, insightful and just pleasant to talk to. This place is a great Battery Park City gem!
We came from Idaho and when we said to people in New York we were going to Blue Smoke they all said it was good food. We weren't disappointed! Was a good atmosphere and was walking distance to activities we were doing. Ribs, biscuits, mac and cheese were all great. We would go back or recommend for sure.
I have a friend who used to work in the kitchen who always spoke very highly of the restaurant and its’ food. I saw an ad on Facebook about Blue Smoke and immediately decided I had to go and try the food, and went that very same day - Needless to say I was not disappointed and will be returning...very soon.
The food was 10, the service was 10, the ambience was 10, the drinks were refreshing but a little on the weak side.
I will never be blue after dining at Blue Smoke. The food was incredible. Ann Marie made us feel like family. And we had the added privilege of meeting Farmhouse Chef Jamie DeMent. It was a delicious evening. The chicken just right. The turnips (who eats turnips?) were sexy and the broccoli starter featured an egg and just the right amount of spices.
Tremendous service. Extremely friendly staff that made me feel at home with great conversation and even better service. There was a trouble couple sitting next to our table and the staff handled it perfectly. This will for sure be a place I frequent in the future.
One of the best things about this Blue Smoke location is just that, location. We love that after dinner you can take a walk down by the water-side and have a wonderful back drop of the Freedom Tower. Food was good but it is not cheap. Dinner for a party of 4 (inclusive on a bottle of wine and 1 beer) was a total of $300 plus when you add a 22% tip (our waitress Sam deserved it). But for a special occasion it was cool just not something we could or would do on a regular unless your pockets are set up like that. We'll be back.
Stopped here for a late lunch off of a friend’s recommendation and we were not disappointed. My wife and I ordered the hamburger and my kids got the ribs. The food was really good but the service was absolutely outstanding! Hamburgers came out a little too rare for our tastes but the manager took care of it and more than made up for it. Would definitely go back!
Went to celebrate my daughter's birthday. We had the "Whole Pit" which is everything on the menu. Its a BBQ place, pretty good for north of the mason/dixon line. I especially loved the smoked andouille sausages. Many many beer selections, and they were nice enough to plate my daughter's dessert with Happy Birthday and a candle.
While visiting NYC for my sons 16th birthday we ventured over to the Blue Smoke restaurant intrigued by their BBQ menu.
Adults started out with two of their custom cocktails (Don Q Puerto Rice Relief and Steen's Sazerac) and the boys had Texas Cream Soda and Cheerwine. All was fantastic.
For app we had the BBQ potato chips with the blue cheese dips --- HEAVEN! Waiter asked if we wanted more chips and we said yes (there was more dip to eat!) this did cost an extra $5 (wish they would have mentioned that)
Three of us chose the Choice of Meat with two sides and one had the burger.
Brisket had good smoke ring and fantastic bark. The ribs were equally tasty. Sides: Mac Cheese (very cheesy), Collard Greens (especially tasty and not soupy like some others I've had), Pork/Beans and Fries.
I recommend this place for excellent BBQ. It was a great experience and priced at a two-time-a-year visit for me (but then it is NYC so probably appropriately priced for the city)
Your server is your best friend here. While not on the menu, we asked what he'd want his Mom to have if she visited him at work. The answer: brunt ends and wings - neither were on the menu, but magically those "in the know" can sometimes make magic happen. We also had deviled eggs which were awesome as well.
My girlfriend and I had a BALL at Blue Smoke Battery Park and we cannot WAIT to return. Our waiter, Ben, was GREAT and seemed to know what we needed before we did! The food was scrumptious, the atmosphere was fun and kinda funky and we had a really great time. We highly recommend this restaurant for all kinds of occasions.
So delicious! My friend and I, both vegetarians, came here primarily for the key lime pie, but EVERYTHING was delicious. As you'd imagine, it's not a hot spot for vegetarian food, but we shared a four appetizers/side dishes and it made for a completely filling meal. We had the pimento cheese, which came with beignet -like bread, an iceberg salad, sweet potatoes, and macaroni and cheese. Highly highly recommend!
