We had a lovely time sitting outside at Blue. We ordered a salad, which was fresh and tasty. We also had fish, some cocktails/wine, and oysters. It was a lovely evening. Staff was accommodating and friendly. Would return in a heartbeat.
I had a wonderful experience and the food was delicious. The staff were very friendly and professional. The food was made fresh and was brought out to us very quickly. It was a very pleasant dining experience. My mom has requested to visit again in the near future. I am very pleased with this establishment and I would recommend it to all of my family and friends. The restaurant followed all social distancing guidelines, and all staff wore a mask. We were offered indoor and outdoor seating options.
Food was phenomenal. My wife was looking for a place with chilled and hot seafood. High quality meals which were large enough portions to fill your appetite. Scotch cocktail was worth the price. This is a great date night spot.
The food was delicious. Highly recommend the grilled octopus.
Dined here for a Mother’s Day overnight trip. We expected to be able to have more seafood options (as this is a seafood restaurant). But, the brunch offerings do not have many seafood options.
After asking for oysters (which were initially unavailable), we were able to order some. I had the fish and chips (which was delicious). We also got the seafood pasta special of the day with a substitute for white sauce instead of the cream. When the dish came out, it had white sauce. When we reached out to our waitress, she expressed that she had forgotten to ask for the white sauce. She was so apologetic that we were completely fine with the sauce. The dish was phenomenal. Because I had the unlimited brunch special, the drinks flowed consistently.
All in all, we enjoyed our meals. I definitely would come back for dinner or Happy Hour if the desire is for seafood. If you just want a cool brunch with a few options, then this one is pretty perfect.
Grilled octopus is excellent.
Super friendly very attentive staff, food was so delicious!
food and service were great but the drinks were a bit too expensive.
Service was excellent. I ordered the tuna and it was a little undercooked. The ambiance is lovely, but unfortunately there was an obnoxious party of six that insisted on yelling at each other. I know the restaurant has very little control over these rude groups, but it did make the experience less than outstanding. Will definitely return and recommend to friends.
Excellent all around! Great food, staff and atmosphere. Highly recommend
Very friendly staff
We loved our dinner here. Started with fresh raw oysters, then decided on appetizers for dinner. The salmon ceviche and oysters Rockefeller was equally amazing. Top notch. Shared bruschetta trio and ended with a very fabulous coffee cream brûlée. Gabriella was our sweet and personable server helping guide us through wine and dinner choices. Other staff were attentive and fun. Please give this unassuming and quaint place a chance. The details in food pairings were inventive and complementary. We will be back.
Gabriela was awesome! She made great recommendations and was very warm and inviting. The staff was super attentive, and were very diligent when it came to covering Covid protocol.
The food was delicious and me and my husband will definitely be back for more!
love this neighborhood place and service is great. some good wine choices as well and seafood is excellent and portions are really generous.
Awful experience. We were sitting at our table for an hour and still did not receive all of our appetizers. I asked for a manager and our server said there wasn’t a manager to help. We left without receiving our entrees and second appetizer.
First time visit and I will definitely be back. Bronzino was cooked to perfection, and the grilled vegetables were spectacular. I just had the grilled octopus and said it was wonderful. I order into my apartment frequently, and my only disappointment with this restaurant is that it does not yet deliver.
If you are looking for a quiet dinner Do Not Go Here. The noise level is deafening. We got the feeling the owner or Maitre’d had zero interest in tourist business. He chit-chatted with his known customers we will never return here.
This is a small and charming spot on 9th Ave, great for pre or post theatre or Lincoln Center. We hadn't been there for a year or so and we were a bit disappointed to see they've changed the menu. It now has a broad selection of apps and tapas, and just a few mains-- none of which were the kind of seafood choices (beyond shellfish) that I recall from prior visits. That said, the food is still good and the service very warm and professional.
Lovely meal, we sat at the bar and it was fabulous
Pleasant place with excellent menu for drinks and... limited choice for dinner—more seafood than fish per se. excellent salad. Okay pizza
A good spot for the food, ambience and New York City vibe.
Loved the vibe of the restaurant. Food was wonderful. Probably one of the best value meat and cheese boards of any restaurant I have ever been to. Our server was wonderful.
This place is cute and has great food! I don't know what happened this time I came in but they had one server for the entire restaurant on a Sunday during brunch. The very nice busser tried to help but didn't speak a word of English so it was hard to get things after the fact.
My son and I ate at Blue Seafood Bar for Valentine's Day dinner and truly enjoyed the evening. We had reservations for 7:30pm and were seated just past 7:35pm. The atmosphere did not disappoint and neither did the food. His filet was cooked exactly the way he likes it (medium rare) and my risotto was perfect! I would definitely go there again with friends or even by myself and eat at the bar.
Realizing it was Valentine’s Day I understand the pressure to move meals out of the kitchen quickly, but the duck confit was deep fried, making the meat dry and tough. Also, the Fritto Misto was mostly French fries.
Great, quaint place! Found it randomly on line. Good choices and range of prices.
The octopus was outstanding...oysters very fresh! Service was slow with only 5 other guests at the time.
One of best romantic floors for dinner in Hell’s Kitchen. Modern eccentric but inviting and warm atmosphere. Tar tar was fresh and all the seafood pairs well with their signature craft cocktails. Great service.
Menu was too limited for our needs. Pretty pricey.
Excellent seafood here! I love the appe and mixed grilled seafood, and of course the royal flush oysters too
When I searched on Open Table seafood restaurants "upper west side" the Blue Seafood Bar did not come up. I wasn't thrilled with what did come up and many weren't even in the UWS. So I was thrilled to find Blue Seafood Bar when I googled for more choices. My husband and I loved this restaurant. It was exactly what we were looking for before we went to the Opera. The fritto misto was outstanding and my shrimp cocktail was wonderful. Our dinners were just as good and the waiter was attentive and helpful. We couldn't have been happier and we will definitely be back.
Food and ambiance are fantastic! Service was a bit too loud at the end of the meal, however overall did not affect the experience! Love it here!
The food was absolutely delicious and the ambiance was beautiful. Such a gem. Romantic and cozy.
Great tapas. Branzino under salt was very good. Variety of tapas. Prices was a little bit on high side. But worth it.
Happy Hour is a great deal. It was a counter, but the service was very good. Oyster was also delicious. Recommended restaurant.
Excellent seafood, great service and a beautiful ambiance.
This was New Year's Eve. We chose the tasting menu. Everything was well prepared and delicious. The service was attentive without being rushed. The cocktails before dinner were great. Overall a great experience at a restaurant we have come to know and return to often.
Amazing as always
New Years eve
Great corner booth. Romantic. The oysters were fantastic! Would go again.
