Blue Ridge Grill Ratings and Reviews
Celebrated my Mother’s 68th Birthday and Blue Ridge made it very special. Her table was decorated and we came in to a menu that said Happy 68th Birthday Mom. The attention to detail in service was great. It is $$$ but you get your money’s worth in the food, service, ambiance and overall experience. Thanks Blue Ridge for making my Moms 68th a very special one!!!
My husband and I have been to Blue Ridge Grill several times and always enjoyed it. Our recent experience was extremely disappointing. We took our daughters for a special evening on New Year's Eve. What we got instead of a lovely evening was so much less than expected. Our waiter began the evening by chatting away about his mother and his upbringing. While I always like to be friendly and kind, we were uncomfortable and felt this was excessive. The evening went downhill from there. He made no suggestions about the menu and only told us about the evenings specials after we asked him. When my daughter ordered a side item with her filet mignon, he smirked at her. Then my husband ordered an appetizer and a salad and an entrée, he very loudly volunteered that this was too much food. I feel this was quite presumptuous and arrogant of him. Then to make matters worse, he was quite absent during most of the meal. A very kind young man came around often to refill water, but Shannon was very slow in offering more wine, removing plates or anything for that matter. Because of his less than professional attitude and behavior, the entire evening was difficult. This is so unfortunate, as it could have been so much more. The food was very good. The ambiance is lovely, but the service was very unsettling. I cannot recommend Blue Ridge Grill.
Without ever mentioning that dinner was suppose to be for a special date to my waiter, he immediately made us feel like we were the only table in the whole restaurant. The food is priced high but you really are paying for everything from ambience to attentive staff that makes it worth it.
Not as good as in the past. The service was slow and lacking. The sides were scarce. The crab cake is delish. The short ribs were mediocre. The corn casserole is delicious. The potatoes tasted like instant this go around. Not as impressed by a long shot. May or may not be back.
BRG is a neighborhood favorite— one of our “Go to” spots. Thanks for another fun time with friends and good food. Sorry we were 15 minutes late and bless the kitchen for allowing us a meal as they were closing — I’m afraid we irritated our waiter though. Apologies!
The staff was very courteous, the table waiter was very professional and the food was excellent. The only negative thing is the price of the luncheon specials. They were very good, but very expensive. Two small crab cakes and a chef salad with chicken were north of seventy dollars. Add two ice teas and two coffees and the bill amounted to eighty-five dollars before tip. A bit pricey for lunch with no alcohol. I
Our waiter, Shannon, was one of the best servers we have ever had, period. He was personable, friendly, funny, knowledgeable & above all polite. This young man is the type of employee I want on my team. He inquired about our likes and dislikes, remembered our names and made the entire experience wonderful. He is a keeper!
As always Blue Ridge Grill does not disappoint in service or the meal. We come to Blue Ridge Grill on average 2-3 times a year, this is where my wife and I met for our first date. Though the atmosphere, food, and service were as fantastic as always, we we’re disappointed in the noted price increases across the menu. Will we be back? Yes! But we may not come as often with the higher prices.
My wife and I had a great time at the Blue Ridge. Our waiter was very attentive but did make one mistake. However he made up for it very much to our satisfaction. I had the grilled pork chop while my wife had a filet. Both were cooked perfectly and presented beautifully.
The wine list is exceptional and the desert, carrot cake roulade, was wonderful. Very nice restaurant ... I highly recommend.
Uncomfortably noisy -- way beyond 'energetic'. Difficult to converse with dinner companions due to loud voices from several adjoining tables. (Same problem has been encountered the last few times we have eaten at Blue Ridge.) Obvious that they want to cram in as many patrons as possible, but tables are too closely packed for comfortable dining (and definitely not applicable to 'romantic dining').
