Blue Ribbon Sushi is a vibrant Japanese restaurant and sushi bar located near Fenway Park in Kenmore Square, serving outstanding Japanese cuisine based in tradition and passion, including nigiri, sashimi, and chef-crafted maki rolls, all made with a selection of fresh fish flown in daily from the Sea of Japan, the Pacific Ocean, and local New England waters. Exceptional sushi! Fantastic service, really tasty cocktails and gorgeous decor. The staff was super sweet and even gave the table a delicious dessert since we were celebrating my son’s graduation. Don’t sleep on the chicken wings!

The sushi was solid and presentation was good. Chefs obviously do a good job but for the amount of money we paid I thought it was kind of ridiculous how unfriendly our waitress was. When given our food she asked if we wanted her to tell us the types of fish on the plate (we ordered the sashimi and sushi chef’s choice plates), and when we said yes she gave an actual exasperated sigh in front of us before running through it. Everything in general was pretty expensive and portions were tiny so if I’m paying that amount I expect it to feel like the staff is happy to have us there. As it was we were checked on maybe once outside of being brought our food and it being taken back, and it honestly felt like they were just trying to get the table open for the next group. The setting is cool and ambiance is nice, but for the price I think you’re better spending your money elsewhere if they can’t find it within themselves to make sure you enjoy your experience. Also, if you decide to choose sushi to order yourself the price is STEEP. The orders are all 1 piece of sushi, and some were as expensive as $18. I get that nicer pieces of fish will cost more, but come on, you can’t include like 2 pieces for that price? It almost feels like they force you into ordering the chefs choice plates.

Never disappoints! The food is so fresh and well prepared. We tried some new things this visit, and they were as good as anything we've had there, Miso Marinated Black Cod and Crispy Rice.

As usual we had excellent service. Good atmosphere where you feel welcome and appreciated. The quality of food and sake is top. I think this is a really good restaurant offering very good value.

This was our second time coming here. The food each time has been phenomenal. Really enjoyed everything that we ordered. The black cod and the albacore just melt in your mouth. Our service was spectacular. Can’t wait to eat here again

Delicious food. Bit expensive, but tastes great. Some parts of the restaurant have a better vibe than others. Very nice service staff.

We had an excellent meal here for 3. This is a favorite of ours when we are visiting Boston and staying at the Commonwealth Hotel. We are plant based and can find many options on the menu. We had the cauliflower tempura and it was so good we ordered it twice! Thank you for all the delicious meals!
