We have enjoyed this Blue Ribbon every time we have been which is once or twice a year when we are in NYC for a number of years now. Today was probably the best ever. Everything was delicious, the service was great and nice and quiet. The lamb chops, collar of yellowtail, the sashimi. Ikura squid, and baked clams were especially good!

Sushi aficionados will appreciate knowing if fish is from the Pacific or Atlantic. The masago (smelt roe) and maguro (tuna) were among the freshest and tastiest I have had. The unagi (broiled eel) was done to perfection. Blue Ribbon will be my sushi stop whenever I'm in NYC.

We checked out the rooftop and it was very disappointed, they had a table that tried to Make it look like A bar but it look a frat house bar. The bartender was very attentive.

Fresh sushi, beautiful platters, unique dishes. Also, I have a severe gluten allergy and this was my first time at a sushi restaurant since being diagnosed. I was very nervous but the waitress marked it down, had it prepared separately, brought me gluten free soy sauce, and pointed out what I could eat on the dessert menu. I did not get sick and I enjoyed my meal. As it’s a restaurant in a hotel everything was a hair overpriced, but that’s to be expected.

Blue Ribbon was fabulous! The only reason I would give less than 5 stars is that the seating is really hard for an extended period of time if you happen to be the one on the banquette side which has no cushion. We had a fabulous meal...always have!!! And we had a server who was being shadowed and when we asked him about that at the end of the meal he said that the "shadow" was his mentor and he was new and in training. Our server was fantastic, thoughtful, caring, etc. So, we thing the idea of the "shadow" mentor is great. Obviously, Blue Ribbon puts an emphasis on customer experience as well as food. Will be back again, again, and again!!!
