Food portions were very small and service was pretty terrible. This place has potential but it needs work. It gets very noisy when children are dining.

My husband and I really enjoy Federal Grill, the food is consistently delicious. We love the cocktails and really enjoyed the lamb shank special.

This is one of my go-to’s for business meals. The food is really good and the service has always been great. They have a wide range of options to suit your pallet though my favorite is the Grilled Vegetable Panino.

My friend and I both had the lunch pris fixe option with fish: nicely prepared and delicious, plus dessert. This early in the year, and with very cold temperatures outside, the restaurant was sparsely populated, but it was very pleasant, service was unobtrusive and it was perfect for a leisurely meal.

I have had 2 meals at Blue Ribbon and the first visit was positive and we planned a staff luncheon the 2nd time because of the favorable experience.
A few call outs, The lamb sandwich was a disappointment- the guests felt it should have been served warm..
Interesting drink menu-
And the noise level this time was deafening- almost impossible to hear the person across the table.

I visited Blue Ribbon Federal Grill to celebrate my birthday with my family over Sunday brunch. The waitstaff was very attentive and food was excellent -- our group ordered the burger egg and cheese, half fried chicken, venison tartare, ahi tuna poke, and the "Fed" burger -- we were all very pleased with our selections. The ambiance is great as well -- just the right amount of sound and music to create an energetic vibe but not too loud; lots of space between dining tables; floor to ceiling windows; and a lot of natural sunlight coming in from a south facing view. Perfect for dates, family gatherings, and corporate lunches and dinners. Sam the wine director took care of us and was outstanding. This is a great find in Downtown Manhattan and we will definitely visit again soon.

Business lunch for three first-time guests included entrees from prix fixe menu for two guests and a Greek salad for the third. All food was well prepared and presented. Wines were also very good. A bit on the pricey side, but a very pleasant, and unhurried, experience.

Blue Ribbon Federal Hill offers a fine venue for the post work Wall Streeter. A destination dining experience, one ought to look farther up the Blue Ribbon venue list, and farther uptown. Its an ideal post-work venue for a few drinks, perhaps a starter, but those that look forward to a dining experience, this isn't the usual, notable Blue Ribbon of legend. The menu offers delight that the kitchen cannot deliver. Plates aren't bad, but they're not up-to-speed with the others Blue Ribbons siblings. Also, the venue vibrates with loud, tinny noise. More a bar with food, than a dining venue with drinks. Lunch may be okay. But, I won't bring clients here again. Try, Augustines a few blocks away on Ann.

Spent a few days in New York. This was a very nice restaurant and the steak I ordered was exceptionally tender and tasted great.

I’d recommend.

Incredible, timely service at this FiDi gem near the Federal Reserve. Amazing food - the Tandoori cauliflower, Shishito Tempura, Lobster cocktail and spicy meatballs were elegant stand outs as well as the effervescent Cava! Beautiful ambience with 'traditional meets modern' seating and lighting - cosy corner booths in the back are perfect for business or personal conversations.

Wonderful meal here! The employees were so friendly and knowledgeable and came to check to make sure we enjoyed everything when they cleaned up our dishes and still had left over. We were just so full we couldn’t fit it all. Excellent food, truly delicious and had some really great unique tastes. Will absolutely be going back.

We went here for a late lunch. The Federal burger and the fried chicken thigh "burger" with cole slaw were both excellent. the Federal burger's accompanying fries were very good crisp and just the right amount of salty , but I would take a pass on the taro chips. It was very nice for the owner/manager? to come over and check to see that the burger was cooked as requested; so few places seem to care. Would definitely recommend this for a lunch and probably an early dinner (not a fancy restaurant but the cooking of these easy items shows great promise for other food).

Food quality, creativity and presentation was excellent. The special roast beef sandwich ordered by our guest was a hit! One of the nicer choices for lunch in the financial district. Noise level needs help - after all tables were filled - it was difficult to hear a conversation.
Overall will be back and will try it for dinner.

So grateful that BR opened in the financial district!! Menu has a hint of the BR classics such as fried chicken, bone marrow and raw bar, but has many new options as well, plus BR’s signature first rate service. Love it.

We are longtime Blue Ribbon fans and were deeply disappointed when Blue Ribbon Bakery closed. The service at this new outpost is truly phenomenal- just like we remember from the other BR family of restaurants. Unfortunately, the place has less than zero ambiance - it feels like a hotel restaurant, which it is. The food was a mix, some really good some just ok. But the prices are astronomical. $37 for an a la carte 8 oz of hanger steak. $47 for an 8oz filet. A warmer atmosphere and more reasonable prices and I would go back.

I had a very nice dinner here with three work colleagues. I had the lamb t-bone and the other three had the Branzino. All were prepared perfectly. We also had some specialty cocktails which were good as well. This place is one of the best I have been to in southern Manhattan.
