Lady at table next to us was facetiming on her phone load. Waiter did not care.
Last-minute reservations were made for 8:00 p.m. as nothing earlier was available. We arrived 15-30 minutes early and the hostesses were friendly and accommodating. We were seated in an indoor room without any other guests nearby.
Fondue for 2 and the Brussels Sprouts appetizer were ordered for our party of 3. The flavors were amazing, so we added another order of the Brussels Spouts as a side for the entrees. The pork and veal Schnitzels were split among the 3 of us and were plenty. Unique flavors on a take of German potato salad complemented the meal. If one can’t decide, go for the pork option.
Amy’s service was outstanding and we would highly recommend dining on chef Adam’s creations. The only disappointment was not enough room to inquire about dessert.
Wonderful garden seating with twinkling lights. Food and wine special (50% off bottles over $100), all outstanding. Probably one of the best Caesar salads we’ve had. Grilled Napa cabbage was amazing as a side with the Branzino! Overall a wonderful meal and wonderful memory. A “must” when in the Vail/ Eagle /Avon valley.
Great service, we have had the same waiter in past visit. Food is outstanding, can’t say enough good thing about the restaurant, servers and delicious food.
Very good all round
The food here was phenomenal and reasonably priced. The outdoor seating was comfortable and they took good care of us.
We dined outside under the crab apple trees. Our server, Dillon, was great, very personable and efficient. I loved the pork schnitzel that came in two generous pieces. My husband had the fish and chips which was also very good. We shared the delicious apple strudel and ice cream. We’ll be back.
Fabulous Tapas! Savor several!
We recently visited Avon, Co for a weeks stay. We ate at The Blue Plate every night we were there with the exception for the nights that they were closed. The food was fresh and delicious and the service was outstanding. They treated us like family and made us feel very welcome. It was a most delightful experience and would definitely recommend this restaurant.
Amazing outdoor atmosphere. The food was delicious, especially the cheese fondue and the schnitzel. We will be back!
We had the most rude and arrogant waiter I think I’ve ever experienced. I don’t know what his problem is or whether he was having a bad day but he could not have been less helpful and rude. We’re seated outdoors in a beautiful area but we were sitting next to a dumpster that gave off a constant odor of garbage. Will try it again but I definitely will never ask for that later again.
Great tapas menu! Everything on it sounded appetizing and we tried most of them for our dinner. The servings are modest so it took six tapas plates for the two of us feel we had a meal’s worth. The entree options all looked good too; it’s going to take about six return visits to work though all the ones I would like to try.
Decent meal for the price. Availability to get reservations at the last minute.
Yeah... I don’t typically write reviews but I felt I had to in this situation. I am very disappointed in the service at Blue Plate. We visited for our anniversary (which they were aware), the table was occupied so they sent us to another table for a drink, which was fine. ~30 minutes later they moved us to our table which was amazing in terms of ambience. However, the service once sat was not very good. Waiter was snappy, rarely visited table, was way behind and not at all friendly. The food was OK, but nothing spectacular considering the cost. Unfortunately it was not a great anniversary dinner and I hope others don’t experience the same.
Outstanding first time dinner for us at Blue Plate. We will go back next year for sure. Great place !
We both got the schnitzel and enjoyed it very much. The hot rolls are always fantastic. The side salad with the German potato salad was very unique and tasty.
We went on our anniversary. We put that in the reservation and even mentioned it during the course of our meal to the server but nothing special happened. I guess you would expect something if you ask what’s the occasion. But outside of that the food is great and we would be back.
The fish and chips were amazing! Great ambiance and service. We will definitely come back next time are in Colorado for vacation.
Delightful outdoor dinner under the canopy of trees. Fondu was delicious. So were the brussel sprouts. Best fruit filled mojito ever. Don’t skip dessert.
Great food here and service. One night we had schnitzel and for lunch another day fish and chips. Our server was great. The wine was good and the food delicious.
Hospitality always great. Food was very good and service good as well. Even with Covid 19 they went beyond good service.
We had an incredibly lovely experience at Blue Plate. We dined outdoors in the grass area just outside the restaurant; it couldn't have been more comfortable with COVID-19 adjustments. All the tables were a safe distance away, it was open air, restaurant staff were all wearing masks as were patrons as they walked to and from tables; we never once felt at-risk.
The food itself was DELICIOUS. We split a handful of tapas plates (standouts were the hummus and mussels) and a Greek salad between two people. It was plenty of food and everything was something we would have ordered again! Overall, it was a great experience.
Great meal. Mussel apps best, bread to die for
Oustanding food and service! Their mussels are so good. Homemade bread. Great drinks and wine list.
We went to Blue Plate thinking we'd get an average meal. To our surprise, we had one of the best meals/dining experiences we'd had in quite a while. Every dish we ordered was excellent--unique flavors that really worked. Would return in a heartbeat!!!
We sat at the outdoor patio which was very nice. This place has great prices at Happy Hour on drinks and tapas. Loved the mussels and their sauce. If you order dinner, they serve delicious warm buns. Both my husband and I had the New England Fish n'Chips and the fish was tasty. The staff was great as they allowed me to substitute a greek salad for the chips at a small fee. The server was polite and attentive. Love this little gem of a restaurant!
Overall it was very good. COVID-19 had an impact on the ambiance that made things a little weird. We enjoyed the meal. Flavors and temps were very good. Presentation was also very good. We enjoyed the service and we will be back.
On short vacation getaway with my wife, place was walking distance with great outdoor seating.
Fondue was delicious! Our servers were attentive and the drinks were poured very well!
This is an excellent restaurant with good food and a varied menu. We go there often and always have an enjoyable time!
Sitting at the kitchen bar provides a unique experience of watching the food prep and how well the entire staff works together!
The food was wonderful and we had excellent service. The atmosphere is relaxed and family friendly. I thought that it was a good balance between adults without children and with children. We were able to try many items on the menu.
For a nice restaurant with great food and bar selection they continue to not have Blue Cheese Olives for martinis. Cant be that hard to do. Probably have a wedge salad so blue cheese is in the house. Only higher end place in the Vail Valley that doesn't have them.
The fondue is a must order! The food was fresh and delicious.
They need some type of table cloth or placement mat. Food on the table gets messy.
Tables too close together in the larger dining area. Felt like we were eating with strangers.
The food is very good and will return
Original and tasty meal. Chef likes to build things high. The meatloaf was a tall, delicious surprise as was the fish and chips with awesome fries, But the Colorado lamb shank was the call. Shout out to Jess our server with a terrific attitude and great menu tips.
Shared the 2 person cheese fondue between 3 as appetizer- excellent and veal snitzchel was huge
Had a great time
Kris was the best waiter I have had in years.
Go and Enjoy

Table was not ready, hostess could not explain when would it be ready, she just made excuses about this being a busy night. Food, not really good.
Our apologies on your table not being ready, on busy nights we try to give ample time between each seating for reservations, but sometimes, guests take longer than expected. If at any time your meal is less than perfect please let us know at the table and we will strive to fix the situation. Thank you for your feedback as we always attempt to do better!
