Julie and Patrick and all the Blue Ostrich crew always go out of their way to ensure the best experience. Wine tastings with beautiful vistas overlooking the vineyards in the covered pavilion make for a great getaway from the metroplex hustle. Their live music and tasty snacks make it even more enjoyable. But the wine and the friendly smiles that greet you are the best part!
Such a fun place 1.5 hours from Dallas. Loved it!
Their food selection could use improvement - however it was fine. I don't like paper plates.
We select Thursday visits because it is quiet and always great service.
My husband and I had a wonderful time! The food was good, the wine was excellent, and the views were beautiful.
This was our second visit. Several flights to choose from to suite different tasting styles. The hostess was friendly and pleasant, giving descriptions of the wines she poured. The patio provides a beautiful scenery overlooking the vines. We ordered the cheese and sausage plate, both were great and made a nice snack. We will return again when we are in the area
We had such a blast!! The place is gorgeous, the wine is excellent, the people are so nice and friendly, and the music was great! I also Love hanging out with Bert the Ostrich. He is so cute and is so full of personality. I wish I could hang with him everyday.
Definitely recommend. Very pretty place. Wine is excellent.
Went there for the wine. Carried home 7 bottled of red. Enjoyed the live music while tasting
Reservation required was for Covid, but now will remain. Unable to stay longer than 90 minutes. Unable to just visit on the spur of the moment. With a reservation, it may be a nasty, rainy day. Unable to hear the singers, volume was so low. When questioned, they said the management told them to keep it down. They were really good and would have liked to have been able to hear their voices. Blue Ostrich is not as good as it used to be before Covid, and now that things are lifted, they continue to require reservations.
What a fun Sunday afternoon enjoying live music, beautiful day, great wines, and delicious lunch! The staff is super friendly!
We had a wonderful time. Staff was outstanding
Blue Ostrich is a wonderful winery in an idyllic setting. Julie and Patrick are gracious hosts and make everyone feel welcome. We highly recommend making the drive to the Red River Valley for some terrific wine.
Burgers were delicious and the live music was great. Beautiful to listen to but not so loud you couldn’t talk. Really enjoyed our wine tasting as well.
We came for my birthday . The staff was so friendly . It wasn’t too busy and had plenty of seating . The wine was great I really Enjoyed sampling the selections. Definitely will be coming back !
If I could give 10 stars I would- I have been going to Blue Ostrich of about 6 years and still going. Have NEVER been disappointed. Service is ALWAYS spot on.
Wine is ALWAYS good. View is BEAUTIFUL. It is worth the drive every time. My to go to place just to relax and enjoy a good day with friends and wine.
Beautiful view. They still have a couple of Ostridge's. You could walk around a little bit. Their wine is for people who likes wines with very sweet note We got a flight and we didnt like any. Too sweet for us. If you hungry you should eat before you come. There were a live music but was little bit too loud.
Again the view is magnificent!
This winery is my favorite place to unwind after a long week at work.
Beautiful view and live music. The warmed nuts appetizer was very good. The meat and cheese board was good, but wish they would have served it with crackers instead of potato chips. That was a little odd. My only complaint is that we were rushed away from our table for the next reservation. We still had 7 minutes left on our reservation, and workers started clearing our table and reaching over us. They even took our glasses which still had wine in them! That felt rude.
Beautiful setting, great wine, and friendly staff. Always worth the drive from the Dallas area.
always love going to blue ostrich. We have been members for 6 years and counting. Great wine and great atmosphere. Food is good too. Wish we could still take our own cheese and fruit with us but that stopped during covid and still not allowed. But overall always a great visit.
This is my happy place. They make incredible wine, the service is awesome, and the scenery is beautiful and relaxing. I can't say enough about Blue Ostrich. You must, check it out, just a short drive from Dallas/Fort Worth.
Great service! Love the view! Fun seeing the ostrich too:). I look forward to the next visit.
It was quite a drive but a pleasant surprise. The wines were good and the open air seating overlooking the vineyards was nice. The small appetizer plates were tasty but pretty small for the price. We enjoyed seeing the ostriches snd got some great pics.
What a peaceful wonderful day we had. The wine is perfect and the view is breathtaking. I highly recommend Blue Ostrich Winery in St Jo Texas !
My new favorite spot outside of DFW! I loved wine farms in Cape Town and this is reminiscent of those.
We visit Blue Ostrich regularly and enjoy the wine. Service is good food choices are ok. Music the past weekend was in my opinion not what I would have offered on Mother’s Day. We will continue to drive up from Denton to enjoy the wine and the scenery.
Always a fun time, music was fantastic. We shared the prosciutto/fig flatbread and cheese/sausage platters, both very tasty. We will be back!
The location is a bit far from the city, but the drive is well worth it as the scenery, vineyard atmosphere, customer service, and wine quality are all exemplary.
We were right next to there singer so it was a little loud, but not too terrible.
Great wines combined with a beautiful venue and delicious food. A real North Texas hidden gem. We always enjoy our visits.
This place is always amazing, the staff is awesome and so is the food.
Enjoyed 3 items, sausage and cheese, cheese and meat and humus and carrots. Plenty for 4 people.
We ALWAYS enjoy our time at Blue Ostrich. This time was no exception.
Wr always enjoy our visit. Staff makes us feel welcome, great environment overlooking the vineyard and great wine. Thanks
We went for lunch on Friday, was an excellent experience. Casual atmosphere, nice wine tasting and pretty views. Will go again.
The wine was great, burgers were being grilled and smelled so good so that’s what we ate - they were delicious! My only complaint is the acoustics. It was very hard to carry on a conversation with those at my table or to hear the server.
We really enjoyed our hour and a half of jazz, wine, and food at Blue Ostrich Winery! Very friendly attentive service, good wines, and good food! The ambience is hard to beat sitting in the pavilion overlooking the vineyards!!
We enjoy coming to Blue Ostrich for lunch on Saturdays. We got to try the new 2019 Cabernet, which was very nice.
Chad is just so knowledgeable and fun! We love showing up for a chat and a laugh...excellent wine and wonderful interesting people! We were the only customers (Friday 05:15pm) and it was just swell. No food this time, but certainly will be back for more soon.
