I love this place. Sat on the patio this time, watched people in the garden and ate some spectacular food.
So happy to return to Blue Orchid, our first restaurant visit since lockdown began. Always a pleasure to eat there.
Will definitely come back. Love the variety of the menu.
My sister and I were sharing memories on what would have been our Dad's 100th birthday. The meal was superb as always, but the service particularly stood out. Our server went well beyond what would be excellent service to insure that everything was great. She picked up on idle remarks and responded to them as if they were requests. There was no problem with allowing us to split a glass of wine. When I suggested that the strawberry on my dessert be given to my sister as I was allergic, she presented my sister with a gorgeous little dessert glass with strawberries in it.
My sister became a fan of curry because of the Blue Orchid's green curry and she was lamenting through the meal that she had not been here recently. My silver noodle salad was very good, but I do think one shrimp is a bit stingy. I believe I've thought that in the past as well so I was under no illusions when I ordered. The beauty of the place is without parallel. Safety precautions were rigorously followed. Yea, Blue Orchid.
Great as usual. The service was especially good tonight.
Some of the best Thai we’ve ever had! Service was amazing, we sat outside on the patio around 7 pm...it was perfect, shady and breezy! Drinks were yummy too. If I were local I’d be back regularly. They did a great job with being COVID safe; inside and outside the tables were well spaced, disinfected after each party, and staff were wearing masks.
Fantastic food, from drinks, to soup, to main dish to dessert. Highly recommend.
My daughter selected the Blue Orchid for her birthday dinner, both the food and service were outstanding! Her dessert was served with a lite candle, very nice touch!
The place was packed. Our server was amazing. We will be back!
Food was very good, staff friendly. We chose vegetarian options of spring rolls followed by entries of pad thai and sweet pineapple stir fry. Located in the old historic Grande Manse building on the edge of the hay market area. Comfortable dining room, but could use a little updating. Small free parking lot on south side of the building or park on the street or nearby public garage.
Food was AMAZING! Service was a little slow, but this was also on Valentine's Day. I would return and would recommend to friends and family.
It was frustrating that they gave us a 90 minute window at our table, and 25 of those minutes we were waiting for our food. We didn’t have time to order desert, but would have otherwise.
Fabulous in every way! Just a little chilly in the room. Cold night but needed to turn the heat up a bit.
Love this palace!
Went to Blue Orchid for a family birthday dinner. Wait staff very pleasant and helpful with suggestions. Except for one dish having some slightly tough beef, all our food was excellent. Nice atmosphere and not too loud, even with some larger parties at nearby tables. Highly recommend.
Delish! I had been here only once before. Great food, great service.
The food was toooo sweet for a Thai food. Service was very late!!! Very disappointed with the service and food we get for the price we pay.
Annual family Christmas outing.
Panang was great, the other meals were good, but not as good as the panang.
No one was waiting on us so after 16 min I asked a waitress walking by if we by chance had a waitress assigned to us. She said that would be me I will be right with you. We ended up asking for water twice. That was the start to our date night so it was a bit frustrating.
Our server (Toni?) was friendly, professional and attentive.
Great restaurant on all counts. We live and hour+ away and don't feel the need to eat anywhere else when we're in Lincoln.
One of our favorite places. Even though we don’t live in Lincoln anymore, when ever we come back, we always eat at Blue Orchid. Love all of their dishes. Great service and awesome atmosphere.
I hadn’t been in many years and clearly nothing had changed. Everything is simply tired and worn. 2 of our 3 meals were poorly made and presented. Service was great however. Definitely needs a makeover and perhaps a new chef.
Best Thai in town! The martinis are amazing! 🍸
The food was delicious and the service was excellent. I’m excited about coming again soon!
Our waitress was friendly and professional. She listened, answered questions, and when we mentioned that there were people in the group visiting Lincoln to celebrate birthdays, she brought out four complimentary desserts. Way above and beyond our expectations.
We enjoyed celebrating a family members’ wedding anniversary and everything was lovely, allowing us to truly celebrate!
Very friendly and helpful service from our waiter.
The food was excellent.
Amazing food and a ton of great vegan sushi options!!
Always good food and service was delightful.
My second time to visit Blue Orchid. We ordered a few appetizers ( chicken satay, mussels, and spring rolls) to share so that by the time our entree came we were not hungry.
The service was good and we enjoyed dinner.
The Pad Thai was good, we have had better. But this was just good.
The food is always top notch at Blue Orchid. Their Yellow Curry and Pad Thai are two of my absolute favorites.
The Blue Orchid was one of the places that helped me try new food, many years ago when I was at UNL. Returning to visit over a decade later was just as delicious and nostalgic as I had hoped.
It's my favorite restaurant in Lincoln. I rave about it to anyone that will listen to me! We go for our anniversary and my Birthday. May 24th was my 40th and I was so glad to bring 6 others with me to enjoy! My only concern is that when we got there, they did not have my reservation. Maybe there is a glitch by reserving it online rather than calling?
Other than that, it was great! Oh, also they changed the way the chicken was cut in the panang. It was long big flat pieces. We much rather the sliced chunks. Thanks!
The evening started out with the host putting us at the back of the restaurant near the kitchen despite the fact that I had written in the comments in the Open Table reservation that I did not want us seated at the back due to one of the guests having hearing difficulty. Although I made a point of mentioning it to the host (unfortunately in the hearing of the other guests), he did not do anything to rectify the situation, which created an awkward situation. Throughout the evening, the noise and the swinging door from the kitchen was a distraction, and the hearing-impaired guest had serious difficulty in hearing the conversations, which was embarrassing.
However, the waitress was outstanding and the food is always good.
The food was exceptional. Reserved a table on-line, with a request for a half booth. The hostess started to take me to a table, I reminded her that we wanted a half booth. She didn't know what that was so I showed her. The manager gave us a free dessert for our anniversary.
Ehhhhhh. We stood in the lobby waiting to be seated for a while. There were 3 or 4 people who worked there just chatting. Then it took a long time to get our food. I don’t know if we’ll ever eat here again.
My Thai rolls were delicious, but the Pad Thai was lacking flavor. I used the chili paste to liven it up.
