It was such a joy to be back to the Blue Orchid. Since the Pandemic and other problems, we haven't been back in quite some time and we've missed it. That was remedied on Monday and we'll be sure to be back soon and often. The food was incredible and the service was super (except for waiting quite for my Thai donuts). That was OK though since we had wonderful company with which to wait. I must mention the Flower Buds -- just really excellent! I highly recommend the Blue Orchid. Take your appetite and enjoy!

I love the food at the Blue Orchid but I would suggest doing take away instead of eating in. I had the worst service experience of any place I’ve ever eaten in Jacksonville at the Blue Orchid. The waiter lost our order 3xs times. He didn’t know how to use his tablet correctly so he kept deleting it by mistake. Someone in our party ordered a wine spritzer and no one at the bar knew how to make it. Seriously? It’s the easiest and oldest cocktail around. The waiter came back to us and said they couldn’t make it because no one had ever heard of it. Seriously? No one thought to look it up on their phone? What in-restaurant bar doesn’t have white wine, club soda and lime? None of our food came out together. Half the entrees came out 30 minutes before the rest of the entrees were brought to the table. And some were stone cold. And, they also brought us food we never ordered. It really was a complete disaster. And the restaurant only offered to give us a free dessert for our problems. By the time we finally got the last entree we just wanted to get out of there as fast as possible. I love the food but I will never consider eating in the restaurant again. If I am going to get cold food at my table I might as well do take away. I can just heat it up at my house and avoid tipping someone for bad service.

Happy Fish is my favorite dish, with wonderful flavor. Server gracefully altered dish menu to accommodate my restricted diet. Everyone was very pleased with their order, including their delicious self made ice cream. Casual pleasant neighborhood adult restaurant, highly recommended. Enjoy.

The daily special lunch offers are exceptional values, representative of the better offers of the kitchen, and well priced. Skip them. The full menu is so spectacular and offers even better choices in even bigger portions! You don’t dine in a Thai restaurant not to share and be sated. There is a cocktail bar.

Server himself was great but restaurant was overbooked so food was slow to come out. But everyone was nice. We weren’t in a hurry. Maybe just adjust seating times so the kitchen can accommodate big parties.

The entire experience was wonderful! I initially booked outdoor seating as we considered bringing our Boston, but changed our minds and sat inside. The waitstaff was friendly, prompt, great about checking in without being intrusive and even refilling our glasses (sometimes so quickly we barely noticed her there!). The food was amazing! Can not say enough about the flower petals appetizer! Delicious!

This was our first visit to Blue Orchid after hearing so many good things. The food was very good and we will likely return. The waitress seemed like she was in a hurry and I saw an "eye roll" when one of our party was not ready to order and deferred to the next person. Also, we put on our reservation with Open Table that we were celebrating an engagement. This was not even acknowledged, so I was disappointed w/ that as I wanted the night to be special. Still, the food was very tasty and I would like to give it another try. Unfortunately, the engaged couple lives on the west coast so that opportunity has passed.

12/27 Our son was returning to NYC at 6:50 PM so we had to have a very early dinner in order to get him to the airport on time. We arrived at the restaurant at 4:30. It was almost empty but for a couple at the bar and service staff. The music was loud and frenetic and the staff were talking among them selves, both of which was distracting. As usual the bread, spring rolls and main courses were very good. My Sweet and Sour stir fry could have had a bit more pork but was tasty. Wife had excellent Pad Thai and son had the amazing honey duck. Of course we took our early arrival into account so we didn’t complain about the noise. Server was sweet and terrific as usual. This is one of our favorite restaurants and will continue to come here.

Dancing prawns appetizer were excellent, shrimp done perfectly in a great tasting sauce. For entre I had the green curry w pork...excellent and usually my go to when dining here. Also had the tai basil stir fry with shrimp...also excellent. Server was outstanding.

I’ve visited Thailand half a dozen times and Blue Orchid is legit, delicious Thai Food. Everything on the menu is 5*, you will not be disappointed. If you want to save some money drop in for the lunch specials. Best Thai in Jax imo, and there are plenty of good ones in the area. The best of the rest is still second to Blue Orchid. Added Bonus: Full Bar!!

Our meals were quite good. The ambience is nice at Blue Orchid and service was prompt. There were some nice appetizer and drink specials before 7pm. We’ve been to Blue Orchid many times and have never been disappointed.
