The bar is kind of cool despite being at the opposite end of the room....Cocktails were very good!
We started with Oysters Rockefeller that arrived just sitting on a plate--the shells literally just on a plate with just a lemon.....and so small they looked more like Clams Oreganata. No spinach....nothing tasting or even remotely resembling Oysters Rockefeller.
Everything else was excellent including the lamb ragu, sea bass, and sirloin steak special.
Waitress took the oysters off our bill which was the right thing to do.
We'll give it a second look.
Will come again. that was my second experience and i repeat: will come again.
Ordered sea bass, It is there signature dish and was not good. It is my favorite dish so I regularly order it at restaurants, I know how good it can be.
Food and service were very good. Hotel restaurant atmosphere - a bit pricey.
The restaurant is beautiful, service was good and pleasant but food was very disappointing! My filet mignon was ridiculously tasteless and not even done the way i asked for it to be done.
Brunch. Very uninspired. Overpriced. It was good but not worth the money
Awesome food, great service, very good ambience. And celebratory desert on the house!
Valentine’s Day
The Valentines prefix menu was way overpriced for the value. My wife’s appetizer was a plate full of plain salad with lackluster presentation, and her dessert was a plate full of fruits. I would not recommend it to friends.
Sef1, Thank you for joining us for Valentine's Day. Our chef created an amazing Valentine's Day 3 course menu. The two items that you described were not part of our Valentine's Day menu. It sounds like we were accommodating a dietary restriction. We normally add a GF to denote items that are gluten free and some items can be modified to be gluten free. We will do our best to accommodate any allergy or dietary restriction. I hope that you give us another chance to wow you and your wife.
I love this hotel and this place. The menu and drinks are a bit pricey but the food and service is excellent. 5 stars.
Great meal!
I am becoming a regular at Blue Morel because the food and service are consistently top notch.
This place was AMAZING. I've heard great things and thought to try it out myself. I did the Friday 4 course meal for $49. Amazing price with amazing dishes!
Slow service...limited -unclear menu. Will not return.
We were celebrating our 24th wedding anniversary. The service was a bit slow, although the server was pleasant. We were underwhelmed with the steak we ordered (although we finished it) - mine was a bit overcooked, while my husbands had to be sent back. A portion of it was raw, although he ordered it medium. We had to flag the server down twice, and were not asked for drink refills.
We didn't care for the seating arrangements. It allowed no privacy and felt very close to two other couples on either side.
Although I would normally not give a poor review, I felt the experience was less than desirable.
Food and service was very good. It was not too loud and although it is not romantic, it was a nice date night with my wife. We left the kids home with a sitter, so it was nice to eat in a place without kids, which seems hard to find.
We decided to try Blue Model's Friday night tasting menu. At $49/person, it was an excellent value for four courses. Our appetizers were smoked trout on bagette, and duck ravioli were very tasty. As a main course, I had a filet and my husband had ago tuna. Both were prepare perfectly. Dessert was good, but not outstanding. However, my husband said his espresso was the best he had in a long time. We will return!
Always excellent food and service. Be aware that the "special" advertised on Open Table was Happy Hour prices, which only apply at the bar.
Food and service were excellent! Beverage program is top-notch! Will absolutely be back.
I try to like Blue Morel but every time I go I am underwhelmed
I don’t like feeling like I am in a hotel dining room
Everything is very expensive and the taste is just ok
It gets very expensive but I don’t mind if the food is exceptional
I feel like they need to raise the bar
I didn’t like the choices on the menu that much
I think they should get rid of the carpeting and put in wood planks and modernize it a little bit but if they don’t and the food is exceptional I don’t mind . But for now I say meh!
Tho with reservations: Bread/rolls arrived to table slightly stale (hard) (seemed like day old rolls to us). Soup arrived barely warm, sent it back to kitchen, when it came back it was delicious! Husband enjoyed the lamb shank, I loved my salad and oysters rockefeller. I hope they get the initial offering of bread figured out...that first plate of 'food' that arrives at your table and says 'welcome' is important....stale bread (or over warmed up too many times) is not the way! We'll try again, and hope for better!
Food took forever to get
There was no one in restaurant was dead on Sunday
And we couldn’t get the seafood tower
Great atmosphere overall - good food and great service
We return every year to Blue Morel for our wedding anniversary dinner. It does not disappoint. The mussels and chorizo appetizer was a fun combination and very tasty!
We went for dinner on January 2nd to celebrate my husband’s birthday. Restaurants are usually empty on this date, and this was not an exception- we practically had the entire dining room for ourselves. Therefore we enjoyed the undivided attention of the staff, who where very friendly and attentive. The food was very good, well prepared and well presented. Overall we had a wonderful evening.
The fixed menu on New Years Eve was horrendous- we felt trapped not being able to order anything off the menu especially as the the choices on the fixed menu ere so limited and really not well thought out at all. ( course 1 - 2 raw items [raw egg or raw beef ] from which to chose one, really? course 2- choice between squid ink taglitelli and a duck soup? Course 3- Choice between braised short rib and fish? how could that ever be worth $119 a person ? plus a forced service charge . ) We chose the early sitting for dinner (the menu was slightly better) and was $75 a person but was pushed back to the second sitting and got stuck with having to pay almost double the price for the meal. on arrival we had to wait at the bar for our table . The braised rib was tough and bland and the fish was dry and overcooked. All in all, the value for money was very poor. The food was over priced and not even up to the standard of a fast food outlet.Very very poor value for money, a waste of $500.00- Nothing tasted appetizing - a complete rip off. The live jazz band added indecipherable noise which detracted from any ambiance that there might have been competing loudly with conversation. Quite frankly a freshly made ham sandwich at home would have been times better. Never again.
Our second visit after a disappointing first one. This time, only mediocre. Delicious oyster appetizers for both of us. Entree was not well balanced. Protein was too fatty. Side was too sweet. No carb on the plate to round it out. They knew it was a special occasion for us. Did not even offer an extra cookie as an acknowledgement— unlike many other places we’ve been to. We won’t go back. And we won’t recommend it to our friends.
It was a great experience, my first family Christmas dinner eating out, the blue morel made this experience memorable and we appreciate the hospitality and professionalism, our waiter took some pictures for us and a woman at the podium danced with my 2 year old son to Christmas music and I thought that was adorable. I will definitely patronize again and tell others of the great experience we had! 🎄🎁
We had a lovely time on Christmas but were disappointed to be charged for half the price for the third member of our party who canceled at the last moment.
Had Christmas Eve dinner there. Was not told it was a pre-fix menu at the time of reservation or confirmation. So cost a lot more for a group of 7 than expected.
Service was awful in the form of an argumentative waiter., bait and switching wines from the wine list to no service at all. The waiter poured the initial glass and never came back to the table and they were not even busy. I had to physically ask him to provide service.
I paid the customary gratuity of 20% as it was included in the bill and did not want to make a scene as I was out with family.
Have been a long time customer of this place, the food is getting worse and so is the service. I think I just had my last visit to this restaurant.
Anniversary
Food was excellent. Service was terrible. After getting drinks & appetizers, entree took over 45 minutes to arrive. Several tables seated after us got their entrees earlier.
One of our favorite go to local restaurants. We celebrated our anniversary and the gave us a free dessert to help us celebrate. Food is always very good, and the cocktail/wine list is fantastic!
Eight of us had a wonderful brunch/lunch on Sunday celebrating grandpa's 76 th birthday. The entire experience was perfect!
We love this place.

First time eating in the dining room. Have previously eaten delicious burgers in the bar. Three in our group and each course was delicious, including the smoky Manhattans and basil vodka lemonade drinks. Clams casino, farm salad, diver scallops, sea bass and lamb Bolognese were all excellent! Shared the chocolate cake which was just okay. Too cold and had a very very strange fruit ice cream which did not compliment the chocolate at all. The waitress was not even sure what it was. I warmed up to the waitress. She was not as polished for this type of restaurant but was friendly. I am definitely looking forward to a next visit.
My husband and I enjoyed dinner a lot. The restaurant is really beautiful. Service was impeccable. We had the crab cakes and the salmon. Very nice portions. We also had the Brussels sprouts and butternut squash sides. Also very nice portions and we took half of each home. We were in the area for business and it was a perfect end to our day.
Wonderful first time dinner. Service was spot on & we enjoyed our entrees. We will most definitely return.
Thanksgiving stale bread and apple strudel dessert. Overly creamed vegetables salad greens limp
Blue Morel is a bit pricey; however, the food is top quality. My cocktail was tasty, yet quite strong, although the "lemonade" that I requested was strangely unavailable. A good restaurant for a significant date - one-year anniversary or something like that.
Absolutely lovely! P
