Great option for farm to table. Restaurant deserves a better location
We didn't realize that the hotel and restaurant had just opened after being closed for 20 days. This caused the restaurant menu to be a little limited. Having said that, the service and food were very good and it made a nice lunch date for my husband and I . We both had the tuna tartar appetizer which was delicious! My Cobb salad was very good and my husband also enjoyed the fish tacos. We would recommend any of these options. The food here is really good and the presentation is beautiful. We will be back.
We sat in the bar area so we could watch baseball playoff game. So service was not great but understandable since we were in the bar. The hamburger is about one of the best I've tasted in the Morristown area. The crab cakes are amazing here; the best I've had in the area. We loved that there are 1/2 price bottles of wine to choose from on a Friday evening. That is a great feature for sure! It's a very competent restaurant overall and the main dining room is very pretty.
A little skeptical about dining in a hotel restaurant but our misgivings disappeared within moments of sitting down at the table. The tables are spaced generously apart giving you the luxury of privacy and comfort; the waiter was instantly present to help w/chairs, get drink orders and then disappear so we could settle in. Our drinks were great (full bar!) and the menu had a large and diverse selection of entrees. The food was beautifully presented and everything was delicious. I'll be back!!
The food was good, but I don't think the overall experience was worth the price of the food or the fast pacing they put on the table.
This our second time dining at the Blue Morel and it did not disappoint. The atmosphere is very relaxing - it’s a big space, yet it seems seems cozy and it’s very comfortable. The service is top notch - attentive, friendly and professional but never pushy or over bearing. The food is exceptional. I had the best duck I’ve ever had - dry aged with a medley of squash, wild mushroom and Brussel sprouts - absolutely delicious. My husband got the short Bologenses - it was unique with a bit of heat in the sauce - very nice. It’s a perfect destination for celebrating a special night. Highly recommend this dining experience!
Good crab cakes. Server got food order completely wrong. Unsure how entree and appetizer orders could be completely mistaken. Was a business meeting. Since noise level is loud and service was confused , this would not be my first choice for a meeting in the future.
Best Bar Staff great Drinks!
Used to be near the top of my list for fine dining. No longer. Loud. Laptops on tables. Waiter asked me if I wanted a glass with my beer. Service was rushed. Food was just ok. Wine list is good, but is marked-up by more than most. A disappointing 30th Anniversary dinner celebration.
Wonderful food and service! Have dined here before and will do so again.
Food was good, but we were expecting better. The host was wonderful, but our server was not great.
Excellent food! Service was great!
Excellent. Quiet, good hanger steak. Excellent shrimp. House private label wine good value
I eat here often and bring coworkers and customers. The staff, food and overall experience is exceptional. This is NOT a usual hotel restaurant, it truly is a great dining experience. One thing the hotel connection does is offer plenty of parking.
Thanks we had a great time last night as usual , love the new art.
Regretfully, a large private party occuring at the same time that we were dining negatively impacted our experience this evening--as we are frequent guests, we were able to adjust.
Yearly anniversary dinner and service was very nice. Limited menu selection on Sundays but everything was prepared very well. Waiter suggested a dessert cheese option when we didn’t see one for an appetizer which was greatly appreciated.
Great all around. Especially loved the wait staff
Excellent food! Everything we had was very good. Service was great. Waiter had very good wine pairings with our meal. My only beef is I didn’t see anywhere on the website or OpenTable that the restaurant was attached to a hotel. Wasn’t a problem, I was mostly interested in the menu not location. Just thought it was odd.
Our very very very favorite place to wine dine and have a truly fabulous meal in Morris County hands down.
We absolutely loooooove this restaurant !! Amazing Crab cakes amazing everything. ❤️
Met expectations! It could have been a five star rating but the limited choice of appetizers and main courses held me back.
Great evening out for 8 of us. Great bar and bar service for drinks before dinner. Great dining room atmosphere also and the food was enjoyed by my entire party. The service was adequate but far from expectations; low energy, disinterested, unattentive wine/beverage service.
Beautiful and classy look and feel. good selection, mostly yummy food. a little loud and could have used a little more attention from the waiters. overall, a nice place though and would revisit.
Great time and delicious food! The manager brought a surprise dessert for my brother’s graduation.
We had a wonderful celebratory time !!!!
Thank you :)
Excellent all around. Fine menu. Excellent food, drinks and service.
While the food is excellent, the menu makes very little sense and i left with the sense of having enjoyed my meal but with no strong desire to return
Would have given a better rating if the portion of lobster added to the Cobb salad had been more generous. I elected to not have chicken and just lobster as an additional item; would have expected that they could have replaced some of the chicken with lobster, or even given me that option. Stingy portion and the lobster wasn’t very good. Salad was slightly overdressed, otherwise tasty and fresh.
I went to this restaurant about 6 years ago for my birthday and have been talking about it ever since. I finally went back for my birthday again and it lived up to the memory. Every dish was so tasty, unique and flavorful, with exquisite presentation. The staff was phenomenal and treated us to dessert on the house for our celebration. I definitely will not wait 6 years to go back. This dinner was the perfect way to top off my birthday!
Typical dinner at Blue Morel with easy parking, nice ambiance, good food and slow service.
If there was a negative star I would have choose it. Terrible food, and terrible service. This restaurant used to be good, now it’s horrible and going down hill.
Excellent service and exquisite cuisine.
Food was decadent, Great intimate setting and phenomenal service
Best sea bass in N.J. I have been here on several occasions and I always get the sea bass. It never disappoints! The staff st this restaurant are superb, friendly and so accommodating. Give this restaurant a try it is worth every penny.
Overpriced, disappointing. Chilean sea bass had an odd texture (husband who fishes thinks it wasn’t defrosted properly), chicken dish barely edible because it was so salty, dessert was mediocre and unexciting. Service good, wine pairings were excellent.
Atmosphere is more business than romantic and food choices are very limited.
The fish I ordered was bad and my waiter was no where to be seen. For the money they charge you, everything should be perfect.
We celebrated our 40th anniversary and we were surprised by a delicious chocolate ganache dessert with blackberries in no the house. . We ordered the crab cakes, crispy Brussels sprouts which may be the best we’ve ever had, eel sushi, clams on the half shell, and Caesar salad. The food and service were excellent!
Dreadful experience, Food ok, service haphazard and at times offhand, repeated reminders we were eating in a hotel - they started setting the table beside us for breakfast at 8.05 pm on a Saturday, the staff had no idea how to try and make the evening anyway special for us, we live in Morristown/Madison and eat out most Saturdays this was the poorest experience of 2019 thus far - Sorry we went
Food was great! I loved my soup, main dish and dessert. Everyone in our party thought it was a great place.
Great food in great service... A very solid business lunch choice
