We went for our anniversary to have a nice quiet dinner. It was extremely noisy with several screaming young ones. The sever did his job in being prompt and apologizing for everything. The time frame in receiving the meal was not realistic. The appetizer that we wanted they were out of. The steak which was ordered medium(with a pink center) was cooked well done. The pasta that was order came without bread and had to be asked for. The server did take our two beverages off the ticket to help compensate for us not being happy with our experience.
Great as always! Food as yummy and our server was fast and efficient.
Food was great, nice atmosphere
Our waiter was the best we have ever had eating out. Wish I could remember his name.
I would not take kids there.
Very loud. A reception was going on upstairs. Too bad it’s not closed off.
No nasty music playing loud so you could actually talk and hear the conversation.
The only negative besides the reception is there is not enough leg room sitting at a booth. No foot room really because of the legs.
Went for an anniversary dinner with my wife and based off of previous reviews thought it would be a good time. While the drink specials and beer choice was to my liking the food and service was a different story. The biggest disappointment was my wife order, the salmon which she ordered well done. However it was completely raw in the middle, making only the outer edges edible. The server noticed and said sorry, however that was it, she did not offer to send it back to the kitchen to fix their mistake. In addition to this not once was our drinks refilled, which on a hot summer day is a bit irritating.
The food was good, but service was average - I think they must have been short staffed. Waited quite a while for the initial contact from our server. Took too long to get our appetizers, and then our entrees followed right on top of them, so that our dinner was room temperature by the time we got to it.
Be aware that there is no immediate parking near the Blue Moose in Manhattan. You have to walk a block (or more on busy nights downtown) to get from your car to the restaurant. This makes it a less accessible restaurant for the elderly and anyone with walking difficulties. Handicap parking is available a little closer, if you have a tag.
Had their taco special. Very good, decent price.
Although the Turkey Burger was really salty, the fish and club dishes were terrific! We also enjoyed the spinach and artichoke dip appetizer and delicious cocktails!
Very nice dining experience. Entree options are very creative—don’t miss the build your own Mac and cheese—and beverage options equally as creative.
Fantastic service from our server Kelsey, a delightful young lady with a fine sense of humor and a great deal of patience. She offered good advice on menu options—said she has tried virtually all of the entrees and made some really helpful suggestions for us. Kelsey made the evening extra special.
This is a redeveloped area of Manhattan just off downtown. Really well done, and made for a wonderful evening.
Great food and quick, friendly service! Would definitely recommend this place for any occasion.
I made a reservation for Saturday 5/12 and it was wonderful!!!!
I requested a well lit table due to 2 people in my party having vision issues. The hostess had my friend ensure the table well lit enough and it was!!! I am so thankful they read my request and could accommodate it!!
Lunch before graduation. Had a wonderful selection of salads for my in-laws and I had crabcakes that were very tasty! While I didn’t try any, the desert list looked divine.
Graduation Lunch and it was perfect. Was it reds was great!
Me and my son's was looking for somewhere to dine, one of my son's expressed how he loves the whipped cauliflower and how I had to try it. All the food was wonderful.
Birthday with 8 people. Great food, yummy burgers. Our waitress was spread between big groups, but did a good job.
Food was very good, service was OK, the Easter buffet was frequently out of options and the layout made for very long lines.
Really good variety and value for a brunch buffet. definitely will be going again.
Food was good not great. Portions were a bit small; French fries were soggy. Hostess was very friendly. Server didn’t seem very invested in our table. He took away ketchup, etc. before we were even finished eating. Seemed like an inconvenience to him when we ordered dessert. Considering the food, service, and price I would choose the Taphouse over Blue Moose any day.
The food was delicious - the customer service, not so inviting. Our waiter told us he wasn't supposed to be at work that day and was only there because another waiter called in sick. He wasn't enthusiastic, he never smiled, seemed to resent that he had to wait on us. This is not the first time I'd been to Blue Moose, so I know that's not the usual care - unfortunately it was my boss's first time there, and now I'm afraid it may be his last...
Don't let one bad experience stop you from trying this place though! The food is delicious, it's a bit pricey - but go during Happy Hour! It's affordable, lively, friendly - highly recommended when you get good wait staff!
The wait for food once we ordered was about 45 minutes. But the food was delicious once it arrived. Portions were slightly small given the prices, but we would absolutely eat here again, we just need to adjust our expectations a bit for next time.
We were a group of 8 seniors getting together from Kansas City, Wichita and Manhattan and wanting a nice place to eat and visit. The eating part was great. The food was wonderful and we had a lovely server named Montana who was delightful and very attentive. The only complaint I have is that visiting was a bit difficult because of the noise level and we were there really early - 4:30 - because I had guessed that at that time it would not be noisy. I was wrong. But all in all it was good.
My experience with my mom and grandma at Blue Moose this past Saturday was great. They seated us right away after reserving a table on the Open Table app and the food was delicious!
Despite being a small KS-based franchise, Blue Moose still has a local feel. We have enjoyed coming here with our small daughter, or just as a couple on a date. The food is a little pricier but just right for special occasions as I like the variety in the menu offerings. It's also in a nice location being in downtown Manhattan.
Great cocktails before an event with a large group.
Derrick was awesome, we loved him. The food on the otherhand was not awesome. Neither of our dishes met our standards.
Worst experience at a restaurant in a LONG time. As soon as we sat down we were informed by our waitress that she had a 15 top and would be very busy. So we ordered wine right away. We didn't get the wine until 30 minutes into the meal. We ordered the pork belly, cold awful taste. Water was not refilled and requested condiments were not brought to the table. I will not spend money here again.
Food was good. Had some minor issues but the management team were very accommodating.
It could be all the above. It’s my favorite restaurant
Great service, good food, would go back again!
Had a lovely time with great serv ice by Lauren. The back of my booth was broken, so every time the person behind me moved, I was thrown forward. Otherwise, great!
Blue Moose has a very nice interior and a GREAT beer selection. However The food lacked in taste compaired to the price. I ordered the ribeye and was disapointed. My girlfriend ordered a pasta dish and she found it just diddnt have the savory flavor she was looking for. I would return only if they drop their prices to match the flavor or the food.
I’ve never had a bad experience or bad food here. Service is wonderful, restaurant is clean, food is well presented and they have good portion sizes. This is my favorite place in Manhattan!
We have had many special occasions in the Manhattan, KS Blue Moose. We've had two birthday dinners, we got engaged there, we went there after we got married, we were there for the soft opening. And always got good service until this last time on December 29th. We had a 4 pm reservation. The place was dead I mean hardly a person in there. We were seated by the windows looking out into the courtyard as I had requested. We were the only table in the waitress's area. The woman kept disappearing on us for long periods of time. The bartender had to bring my 2nd drink, I never got a refill of my glass of water. Somebody else in the kitchen brought our food out. She didn't check on us for some time after we received our food, by then it was too late to get any steak sauce because I was almost done. I had to ask her twice about the deserts for the evening. My husband had to drink some of my water because he couldn't get a refill of his drink because she was NEVER around. The sad thing is the food was exceptional. Our steaks were perfect. But I do have to add that the potato hash that came with my husband's steak was very over cooked you could hardly tell they were potatoes. The waitress was no where to be found and nobody else checked on us either. It was another special evening for us; my birthday and she made a nice evening out stressful for me. My husband saw her disappearing into the kitchen. I don't know what she was doing, if she was eating her meal or what.. But her total lack of attention to us, the only ones in her section was simply not acceptable. We traveled from out of town for this dinner and crummy service.
Artichoke soup was outstanding, but noise level and service left much to be desired. Will not go back.
Poor service. Took 15 minutes to get greeted and had multiple servers pass our table. Then took even longer to get waters to the table. Server forgot to ring up an appetizer. Food was great. Everything else was not.
Disappointed by the menu changes,, not as many options and some of our favorites are gone. They crammed 7 adults into a booth and we asked to move and were told tables were for people with reservations. We had a reservation that I made several months ago, my name was on the reservation list, it was confirmed when we got there so why we weren’t allowed a table I have no clue as there were open tables. A person in our group ordered a bourbon and water and the waitress came back and said they were out of bourbon. really? On a Saturday night at 6pm no bourbon, none at all? Interesting experience and our last for this particular location.
Amazing dining experience. Even as busy as it was the whole process from reservation to departure was enjoyable. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!
The food was great and the waitress service was good as well. The bar wait for our drinks took to long and even the waitress made a comment that the bartender was learning. It was also a 21st birthday celebration so even though we told our waitress there was no birthday dessert or anything offered to the birthday girl.
Great evening. Food much better than anticipated. Very good location.
