Blue Moon Fish Co. Ratings and Reviews
Although the food was good, our service was not! They were very busy. We waited for our table for almost an hour (even though we had reservations).... our waiter barely stopped at our table and we waited a long time for our food! Atmosphere and food were good but very disappointed in the service this time....
Ceviche and tuna poke were out of this world good! The diver scallop appetizer was again delicious... that was the best part of the meal .... I got the swordfish which was cooked perfectly however my scallop dish was the star of the night ! My husband ordered the filet and king crab .... he realized quickly he should not of ordered the steak at a seafood restaurant (I don’t know why he always does that) he said his filet was just a little dry
Other than that I would go back for the appetizers and the raw bar again and again
We LOVE Blue Moon Fish Company!!!! It is a favorite of ours. Not only is the view fantastic, the staff is very attentive and go out of their way to explain the items on the menu. We have had many different appetizers, entrees and deserts and have always remarked at how well seasoned each entree is, the flavors just burst into your mouth. The fish is ALWAYS so fresh.
We drive down from West Palm Beach almost every Saturday to enjoy our dinner sitting outside watching the boats go by...we look forward to it all week!!!
Thank you to all the staff!!!
Food is exceptional and service excellent. A cut above the competition. But I urge the restaurant to improve the outdoor dining area. The lighting in particular is inadequate. I noticed many patrons using cell phone lights to not only read the menu, but to actually eat the delicious food.
I made a reservation for my 5th anniversary and it was amazing. We got to sit outside on the boardwalk and watch a beautiful sunset. The food was fresh and made to perfection, the noise level allowed us to speak in our normal conversation level which was great! Our server was very attentive and knowledgeable about the menu and even offered suggestions for us.
One of my favorite sea food restaurants in Fort Lauderdale. It's always one of my top choices for special occasions or when friends visit from out of town. I've dined at Blue Moon many, many times and each time the sea food is superb and the service is excellent. I highly recommend Blue Moon for a great meal, uncompromising service and a magical ambiance.
Absolutely not worth the price. The food was mediocre at best. I don't normally leave reviews considering I used to work in the service industry but I was very disappointed with the overall experience at this restaurant. First the service was dismal. We arrived at the bar for dinner and ordered a drink. The bar was not full. Bartender came back with I'm sorry we ran out of the specific liquor for that drink. No suggestions no nothing, just a very stoic would you want something else. Next we got seated (great table I'll give them that) waiter took forever to greet us that the server had to start with us. The bread never showed after he said he would bring it out. We had to ask for it. The ordering felt rushed like if the waiter was trying to get us out of there. However, he wasn't too rushed when we were done eating. It actually got so bad that I decided to start a timer. It took the waiter 30 minutes (it was more I just decided to start it after the long wait) to acknowledge the fact our plates were empty. He was nowhere to be found. If this was an Olive Garden I wouldn't have cared, but when plates on average are 45 dollars I expect excellent service especially when the dishes are very uninspiring and are just a slab of fish with a poorly paired side dish. Food was not bad. The Fish was very fresh but again not what I would expect for 45 dollars. At the end of the day it was not the food that prompted this review but the abysmal service received at this restaurant. Oh and they started preparing for closing with a restaurant still packed with people forgot that (probably explains where the waiter was.) Not even at a Chili's or Flannigans had I experienced that. Our reservation was for 8:30 not late at all. There are much better fine dining options in the area like Cafe Seville or even a chain like capital grill would have been better than this.
I made a reservation two days in advance for valentines. They requested a deposit in my credit card to guarantee the reservation. When I arrived with my boyfriend 15 minutes before reservation , they said we needed to wait one hour and a half for the table.
So why they requested the deposit if they don’t respect the reservation and people’s time?
Of course we left.
Worst experience ever.Had to wait over an hour for my table even though we made the reservation two weeks in advance. The restaurant was overbooked and very crowded, people standing all around tables where people trying to have a nice dinner. I’m not going recommend this place to anyone I know.
Very nice seats, right on canal. Wine was ok. Server attended to us quickly and food came out in good time. After eating a third of my wife's fish, saw it was not done on the inside. Showed waiter and he agreed. After I was about finished with mine he came back with my wife's fish on the same dish. Late and just looked like microwaved it. Waiter brought out dessert menu asked if we wanted any, we said no but would like to talk with manager. She came out we had to ask for any compensation. She said her waiter said we didn't want any dessert. Well we didn't want any because it wasn't offered for free! She said their must have been a lack of communication, and left it at that. No compensation and no trying to please the customer. Not a classy place. Most Good restaurants will do about anything to make it right for their customers. Will not come back or recommend!
Service does not match up to the food. I have been there 3 times in the last 6 months. Feel like they want to turn the table even though you order multiple cocktails, appetizers, entrees and desserts. They forgot to bring the wine. Plus they don't remove glasses or appetizer dishes and food server's deliver entrees not knowing who gets what dish. At a hundred dollars a person plus the service should be as good as the food.
Wonderful restaurant. Arrived early and sat at the bar looks out to the water. The food was excellent. Shrimp salad, Brussel sprouts, Key lime pie and beignets was incredible. The view makes the dining experience special. The bartender and waiter (Bryan) were excellent. Highly recommend. Will definitely come back again.
One of the best meals I have ever had. Two of us shared the pork chop with polenta, and 3 sides - brussell sprouts, asparagus, and butternut squash. The sides are a very large portion. We couldn't eat it all. Absolutely delicious! Very pricey but worth it when it's this good. Raises the question - why can't every restaurant have food this good?
Outside dining on the water was dark, so needed phone flashlight to read menu but it's very romantic. Decor inside was very cool. All around great place!
